People dont get it. It is about consistency in refereeing in adherence to the rules when borderline calls are made. If the referee sometimes doesn't give a handball in that same position and other times does. Then that gives the referee the chance to actually pick and choose when to make the call. Then affect the outcome of the game or even get paid to cheat for a side.
The referee should of just stuck to the same refereeing style at the beginning of the tournament where any sort of hand ball away from the body was a penalty. But to suddenly change the their mind shows no consistency even if the rules can be interpreted support it.

@@tobiasbrandt6840 it was offside and he probably handballed
The solution to this case is obvious. It was clearly a mistake by the referee, who was, however, under massive pressure. Days earlier, in the Germany-Denmark match, the referee decided to give a penalty after letting the VAR decide. However, this VAR was reprimanded by referee boss Rosetti after the game against Denmark, saying that he should not decide on penalties because of such trifles.
And in the match between Germany and Spain, the SAME VAR was used again, this time not wanting to do anything wrong. The English referee also knew this, which is why he didn't give a penalty.
A clearly wrong decision! - It was clearly a most likely successful shot on goal, which was prevented by the hand of the Spanish player.
The UEFA assignment of referees to certain games is just incredibly stupid. To use the same VAR again with an English referee, knowing that he will be deducted points if he interferes and has already uncovered a wrong decision by Michael Oliver (England) in a previous game, which was then criticized, is stupid.

@@TheIInWin You forgot the "offside" Denmark was given against Germany? Denmark were clearly stronger than Germany up to then, would have been interesting to see how the match went were that "offside" not given and game not interrupted for the rain...So that they made it to the Spain match is already a great result. Kroos committed 5 fouls in the Spain match (3 more than any other offender)!!!! and all yellow standard fouls. He should have been booked for the butcher-like foul on Pedri, long before he was eventually yellow carded halfway through the second half for halting Dani Olmo's run on goal. Also, the 3 min extra time turned magically into six, nobody mentions that either...So Germany wasn't robbed. Spain was the slightly stronger side. And the referee made mistakes on both sides. He was lucky that his hand was out wide, and by tucking it in behind his back, he had an opportunity to block the ball.

I mean not really. Kroos should have had 3 obvious yellow cards in that game and only got one. His first on Pedri could easily have been a straight red.
Did you watch the game? Did Kroos get a card for the fouls in the first few minutes? Specially the ones on Pedri, that got him not only out of the game, but out for the rest of the tournament.
lol kross should get red after 5 min. he did not even got 1 yellow looool
Now I don't know what is a Penalty 😮
Your suppose to block the ball with your legs or chest when a shot is going towards target, not with your hands. That is why this is a clear penalty. If cucerella handled the ball anywhere else in the area where he is challenging for the ball with a German player than it would definitely not be a penalty. The fact is cucerella was at least 7 yards away from any German player when he blocked a goal bound shot with his outstretched hand so this to me based on the rule book is an automatic penalty. And for those that might think that I must be bias, I can tell you guys I have always been an italian fan since I was a kid and I never objected that frattesi handball against croatia as unfortunate it was a clear cut penalty and the ref had to make that call in an important match. In the same play, Füllkrug is offside, then he touches the ball with his arm, and when Musiala shoots, there is another German player offside... furthermore, UEFA recommended that this type of handball should not be a penalty... that was before the start of the championship... in the Copa America final, a similar handball was not called a penalty... crying Germans... it was not a penalty, and if it had been, there would have been three previous fouls by German players: offside, arm, and offside!
I've been calling him Cucaracha ever since.
Every single handball was a penalty in the tournament, but this one was denied.
The only reason people would see it as offsides is because of the handball lmao, this ref fucked up and made germany lose
Cant be offside cuz germany got throw in. If offise Spain had a freekick.
What? Füllkrug was offsides on a cross so that can clearly be offside
@@Elian571 Arms can't be offside. Stoptalking about the beautiful game. The refs also didn't rule offside, neither has VAR: Taylor simply ruled that there was no handball...
@@Elian571 nope. nothing with it can be offside. its offside or not offside. If it was offside Spain had a free kick. Offside Rule is simple and clear.
If a defender jumps into a shot to block it, his arms need to touch his body. Otherwise its a penalty. The defender next to Chucharella does exactly that. So of course its a penalty, he blocks the shot with his hand that is widely away from his body. And of course the shot was on target. It is so simple. Who is this Scot talking about football? Is he hockey player or what?
These dudes are talking like VAR doesnt exsist… tf
that was the clearest penalty iv ever seen
Not a penalty? And not on target, Frank? What the F is wrong with you guys? And Craig, his "arm" was "up here" when the shot was made. He pulled it down towards the ball. If he had kept his arm up high, it would have been fine. Before the shot, he was waving his arms, unlike Laporte next to him. Did you pundits actually watched the game???
he was offside
I couldn't add anything to it. You are 100 % right.
@@nosirve9458 Show me some evidence. Otherwise, this is speculation to help you sleep better.
it's a not 99 percent but 100 percent penalty, guests would complain if it was france or england, but they want germany to be eliminated and thanks to referee it comes true,so congratulation to them and their referee
I think that was always a penalty, 20, 30, 40, or 50 years ago. :) I can not recall a situation where this was not a penalty. Except the referee did not see the situation.
If that had been a goal line clearance hitting his hand like that it's a straight pen . This whole bs about subjective handballs is just annoying because later on we'll see another incident like this and it's gonna be given as a pen . The level of inconsistency in officiating is actually ruining the games . We saw it in the prem , laliga , serie a , champions league . At this point I'd rather the letter of the law than nature of the law , because atleast it'll be consistent.
It's not about the handball law , it's about the clear handball , and deny the penalty.
Its irrelevant whether its a pen or not as there was a clear offside just before it. If the ref had given it VAR would have cancelled it.
Arms can't be offside... 😴😴🤫
Ty clear offside
@@ThomasSamoth-ls8ed yes they can
Oh I can see they don't like Germany. ESPN.
0% Ball knowledge that‘s a penalty on every pitch in the world in every situation
Cheap penalties are pathetic.
Fulkrug offside so the handball doesn't count. Your football knowledge is 0%
So much opinion and so little competence...tf is this show even
I also thought it was a handball until I read the official FIFA rules “For the purposes of determining handball offences, the upper boundary of the arm is in line with the bottom of the armpit. Not every touch of a player's hand/arm with the ball is an offence. It is an offence if a player: deliberately touches the ball with their hand/arm, for example moving the hand/arm towards the ball.” So it was not a handball.
Yea then why wasn’t the play whistled dead ? Play continued like it hit his foot.
It's crazy nobody is talking about how kroos survived the game... I mean it's unbelievable he should have sent off....
Yeah he was forgiven a lot😂otherwise, as soon Players get yellow (especially intelligent Players like toni) they are more careful so ..
Nacho and Crucurella too. But NOBODY is talking about them either. Not even in the comments. While Kroos did a bit of physical play which leaves room for interpretation, Nacho done several things that HAVE to be sanctioned if we go by the book. But the referee didn't even talk to him...
How about Carvahal, he shd have been given red, he stomped on Musiala, no card given, cd have got red so much earlier
A statement for the record: I very much dislike the way the Germans and the English approach football. Having said that, I consider ridiculous the way the Germans were eliminated the day before yesterday. I am not a referee, but I would have given the penalty. Taylor (and the VAR assistants) must have had his (their) own reasons for letting the match continue. It may also be that they had to take "intention" into account (which may be difficult to judge), as well as the shortness of the distance (between the shooter and the defender). I find all these EXTREMELY confusing and I would suggest that the FIFA lot have another close look at this issue. The veil of mystery, concerning when a penalty should be given and when not, must be removed. I would go for the obvious: handball by any defender inside the penalty area = penalty, no matter where the arm is, regardless of intention, regardless of closeness. If this does not come to pass, people will go on discussing for decades whether an arm was in touch with the body in a particular situation or not, whether an arm was in its "natural" position, whether an arm was supporting a falling defender, whether a defender was looking away and had no intention to touch the ball, and the like. At the end of the day, I feel that the rules must become simpler and more straightforward. In any other case, everything will continue to rest upon the momentary judgement of the referee (and of the VAR assistants).
As a German, let’s say he scored. Then Fullkrug would have been ruled offside in the build up. So what’s the point of this conversation. I cried when they went home. But it doesn’t change the fact that Fullkrug was offside
WOW, you are so damned NAIVE to believe that it was offside. If Füllkrug had been offside, UEFA should have provided the appropriate pictures after the game to prove it, in order to prevent further criticism and discussion... but they didn't. It is onside.
@@catsrecovery4304 even in a normal tv they showed that it was offside. In tve they showed how his shoulder and arm was offside
@@catsrecovery4304 yeah I’m naive. Although I watched the entire game
Well ... the cf was clearly offside before the handball ....
If it was offside, how come Spain didnt get a free kick and Germany got a throw in instead? Even if it was offside, the red didnt realize. Taylor did a disgustingly bad job in this match.
Red card for Kroos was the MISSING issue.
whatttt no penalty ????? you totally nuts all
