*Battlefield 2* theme kicks in at minutes 2:00 & 23:40! And at 44:04 you can see Lost-Soldiers Wake Island that's our BF2 Community, yaaay! 😎 48:58 you have to be shitting me dude, I've never seen this BF2 Mod with transformers before!! ahah Levan is also a friend of mine from back in the BF2 Revive days. This was a really great video; I hope it makes its way to the EA & DICE brass!! 👍
This video means more now than ever after the failure of 2042. It will take a miracle of game like you envisioned to completely regain the trust of the community. A modern era game with BF3/4 style weapon characteristics and BFV movement would have been incredible to play, but what we got was a half-baked attempt at copying other titles. To no one’s surprise, it failed.
This popped up randomly on my recommendation probably because I watched some of the more recent BF5 post mortems. Just wanna say, this might be the most comprehensive, well thought out and forward looking analysis I've watched. A bit ambitious, but a great success nonetheless!
I watched 40 minutes of the video and I would like to see this project be made real. Unfortunatelly we're talking about EA so even if they start the project it will most likely go side-ways along the way. Good job on the video, Gravity. Raiju out.
For me the dream BF game would be essentially BF4 as a base, buuut: 1. Fix the lighting. 2. Get rid of FLIR for infantry entirely, let it be used for vehicles with some sort of cooldown. 3. No 3D spotting. 4. Spawning on Squad Leader only, SL can place spawn points like in Project Reality or even BF2142. 5. Slow down movement and add stamina. 6. Buff damage dealt by vehicles, but also by anti tank and anti air. Limit the availability of hand-held AA, add AA emplacements like in BF2. 7. Get rid of all vehicle "health" regen and automatic ammo replenishment. 8. No infantry health regen, it just encourages CoD-esque gameplay and makes the medic less useful 9. Get rid of being able to spawn directly into vehicles except for transports that already have a player in it. Bring back hanging out at base waiting for jets to spawn. 10. Expand on commander, make it more useful like in BF2, and bring back map-based commander assets that can be destroyed. 11. Bring back being able to attack uncaps and steal vehicles Fin.
Gravity what are you're favorite levolutions in battlefield 4? This one match on Lancang I got smoked by a piece of the dam, I wish I still had that clip!
You had me nodding, until you said "no commander".... I'm a commander main :'( No sweet spot!?! Whyyyy! I LOVED that! Shit will separate what is a sniper and a marksman
Since releasing this video, ive warmed to the idea of commanders. They just need to be implemented very differently. The extent of powers to give spotting help and overpowered features like the gunship need to be curtailed. And while In this concept i would never recommend Commanders in the base game, I see no reason why the technology shouldnt be there or that mods could not enable it on servers.
@@GravityBFTV i believe the UAV can only spot enemies that the drone has line of site to. Also an idea i thought you might like is the commanders can call in AI drivin support helo like a pavlow in MW2. they fly around a marked location on the map untill they run out of fule or shot down. In which they have a HUGE cooldown timer to avoid abuse. a similar idea would be lovely if commander can call in an AC130 or a quick 1 fly-by A10 gun-run. Again with a massive cooldown time to avoid spamming, with the AC130 to have the longest cooldown timer. I was thinking something like this because is incredibly difficult to ask a player pilot to go on a gunrun when you need it most. Communication is key and i would settle for the ability to mark a location that pilots could see on their HUDs were to proform a gunrun. But seeing as there maybe a chance such a thing wont be added. i thought giving commander the abilities to call in these "killstreak" like abilities is much better. Plus it rewords points if you shootdown an enemy pavlow/gunship. Perhaps this could be a suitable replacement for the artillery strike?
@@funnythings5454 I had this Idea squad leaders or maybe a commanded elite spawn as a call in The commander can go to certain control points on map if your team has majority flag to call a ac130 to circle a 300ish meter perimeter and defend certain capture areas. Kinda like bf3s but more control over its positioning and its not always around either but its good modern 'behemoth' I think Elite call ins would be a great system as long as theres not so many tearing around per match No one will care that they ripoff the good stuff from cod like a squadstreak system. I don't mean mandatory tank call ins either lol like 2042 you need to call a jeep or tank if you dont want to get sniped or out shot by someone on those flat maps
2042, tone deaf beyond belief. It’s depressing how much we have lost in time, and I’m one of those BF3 intro to series players. Asking for half of these features is basically impossible because even asking for a scoreboard is already the struggle, depressing.
I know I am late to the party, but I really wanted to watch the whole video, focus on your ideas and present to you my humble point of view. Ofcourse I'm not a game developer and my tech knowlage is really limited, but I will try to make my point. 1. Core design - that sounds wonderful and just like you, I also do belive that it is possible for DICE to make it from the technological point of view. But I doubt that it would be in their best buisness intentions. We are looking at it from the perspective of a player, but let's be real here, so much content in just one game would not level up income with spendings from developer's point of view (by leveling I mean for them to gain the profit they would require). Each "era" would also generate separate problems that could be too much for them to handle. I also think that some players would be overwhelmed and perhaps even confused by the amount of maps, eras and stuff to unlock. I'm talking mostly about fairly new players in the BF series. It would be amazing because of the amount of variety and lack of repetitiveness for most of us (especially the veterans), but still I think some younger players would somehow get lost within. Sadly more and more games are trying to make gameplay easier and more straightforward, because the player base is much different then it used to be even a few years ago. They just want simple solutions, simple tactics, easy way to achive the goal. This is really infuriating, but that's the way it is. Even with your ideas to simplify it, by using same weapons in different eras and so on, I feel like it still would be a problem. Although as for myself, I would love to see that idea of yours happen. Lack of single player mode would also meet with an outrage of some people, but in this case it only makes sense and for the most part I think people would be ok with it. 2. Core gamplay - you practically nailed it. I only not fully agree with you when it comes to MMGs solutions, but this is only minor discrepancy. 3. The rest of the chapters - yes, yes, yes and once again yes. I think we can all agree with you there. To sum it up, you did a great work Gravity, you took your time, give it a lot of thought and then created a great video. The editing, the ideas, the music - it all works together just perfectly. Well done Sir. Congratulations on your dedication and hard work. Players like you are what make this and any other game really special and I can only hope that developers would at least take a look at some of your ideas.
"Speed control" in jets should never make a return. It was stupid, unintuitive, and not even how planes work. Not that I am very excited for new bf games.
Thank you for being the voice of the community. This a concept DICE should seriously consider. Great work.

Amazing Grav, love it!
I would be back when 2042 first DLC comes up, if they somehow take one of your suggestions then this game would be great
I cant believe I watched most if this. Gravity sure loves battlefield :D
Lol as long as you get past the balance stuff its a smooth ride

I just moved to squad beacause of teamplay
Just give me a bot mode, that's all the single player I need.

Battlefield games should be minimum 50 vs 50 or 100 vs 100
It was never ment to be a small scale game
wuh
