  • In today's video, we are going to be doing some stocked trout fishing at the hidden gem trout stream in Blue Ridge, Virginia. These are no ordinary fish and are much larger than the state stockers that you will find in your local creeks. For this video, I whipped out a super old fly rod that was gifted to me by my late grandfather. I have not caught many fish on a flyrod but that definitely changed this trip! I hope y'all enjoy the footage and if you do, subscribe so you can see part 2 from this trip!

    Some dandies! I was wondering if I could fish that redtail Blackhawk on the fly rod. Now I know👍👍👍

      You could probably do it even better than I did! I’m using a heavy tippet and heavy rod. With the right rod and line, those handtied lures would killlll some trout! But that red tail Blackhawk in particular is just an all around meannnnn lure

      That’s incredible! Those zebco’s are the Nokia phone of the fishing world. Indestructible! And I know that reel probably means a lot to you, like the fly rod does for me!

    Yes idk about the nrv bait but I think there is something about black hair and a jig that trout love I seen a guy caught 30 trout in a hour with the same jig you have but he has a live maggot on it .

    • @CatchingLimits
      @CatchingLimits  8 месяцев назад +1

      Absolutely! The NRV baits creek bugz and mini minners work in most applications but when those trout won’t hit, throwing a hair jig that most others don’t use is enough to entice the bite! There is a maggot imitation lure on the BiggFish lure lineup and it’s a certified killer too! Called the Banded Grub!

    We used to got a place in cal away and pay 15.00 and we could catch as many fish as we wanted ona fly rod as long as the barbs were mashed and we turned them loose. It was a pay by the lb pond. Someone stole all the trout in the 2 ponds and all the catfish the guy owned and he never reopened. Not a lot of challenge but a lot of fun on fly rod

      Man that sounds like a blast but like all good things, someone takes advantage and ruins it for everyone. I can’t wait to break out the flyrod again and put the woptusi on some more fish!

      I went on Friday January 26th. I called him before hand and confirmed there weren’t going to be any fishermen so that I could do some catch and release to promote his stream. There were 2 but both were catching fish so I didn’t feel too bad. It was an awesome day!
