G'day from Melbourne Aus and a new Subscriber. Prior to emigrating to Oz I worked for BR in Derby from 1959 to 1968. The Station and Traffic at Derby Midland has changed a lot since then. I will be arriving there on 17th May 2023 for my next annual visit to my home town of Derby. I really enjoyed the standard of your filming, thanks and well done. Loved the HSTs shown! Cheers, Puf'n-Pete
Class 37 was epic!!..imagine now this engine is older than alot of folk and still survived to this day to still run???...they knew then how to truelly make a locomotive!!!?..these engines were operating before I was born I'm 50 now???
I am guessing how many hours you had to wait to catch variety at Derby station, as it sounds boring variety wise compared to Stenson jn and Chesterfield for instance. Expexcted Trent jns and Toton much more active but not much happened when i decided to spend some time there years ago. Thank you for sharing your lucky and interesting catches of that day.
Lovely video, some lovely traction but can anyone explain how GBRf has 50034 Furious on one side and 50007 Hercules on the other? Am I missing something?
Those old HST warriors deserve some TLC imo.. The colour might not be everyone’s cup of tea however I’d rather they’re not tatty looking like 257 & 290. 👍
Great video! I wish the Colas HST would exist in HO scale!
That would be cool! 👌👍
About time Colas actually put some proper paint on the HST power cars haha! They don't actually look half bad!
Hopefully the rest of them follow soon - 290 is in a state and needs some TLC..

Thanks Pete - Glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully you have a good visit in May.. Thanks again. 🇦🇺 🇬🇧 👍
Hi very good camera work as usual cracking video well done bye for now Philip
It would be interesting seeing what modifications had to be made for the carriages to work with the powercars

To be admired for sure - Great locos 👍
Great catches! I was really hoping to see the repainted colas 43! It looks absolutely amazing
Thanks Nate.. It should be out and about on the regular test train circuits now so you’ll catch it soon. 👍
@@trainsplanes hopefully, hoping the rest of the colas HST fleet receive the same treatment as well
Time to get the airbrush out ...that will look good in `oo` ..
Your videos are great and amazing as well 😅❤😊
Thank you so much 😀

The loco is officially 007 however the owner of the 034 nameplate is said to be paying a fee to have it displayed on one side of the loco. 👍
@@trainsplanes many thanks, I thought I was going mad 😅
Brilliant footage! I don't think I'm a big fan of that repainted 43.
It looks smarter than it did 👌👍
Love the 50s
50049 had a tail light on when leading at 03:54 ... Driver error or electrical fault???
seeing that it had been turned off after a cab change, I'd guess that the driver forgot to turn it off or just didn't know it was on
What a wonderful loco the class 60 really is,my favourite loco, such a shame rhat EWS left them to rot
Under appreciated Loco are the class 60’s.. It is a shame so many are abandoned at Toton.
@@trainsplanes hopefully some of the 14 bought by DC Rail will be resurrected
I don’t know what opinion to have about that HST 🤣

@@trainsplanes I think it looks quite nice, after further consideration. 257 and 290 do need a bit of TLC!
Please don’t fly a drone over my office while you’re here lol
You wouldn’t hear it if I did.. 😉
Really, 3:21? "Obtain signallers permission to proceed"? 🙄
