@@gran9773 I mean, if infested stone (or any infested block) converted, they would need to make infested sculk. Which would not only be useless no matter what you're doing, but would be incredibly rare. So an incredibly rare, incredibly useless object. That or the sculk kills the silverfish, which, if there are any catalysts nearby, would cause more infested sculk, causing a chain reaction until there is no more infested stone.
@@randomstranger8554 or, more likely, the infested blocks turn into regular sculc because there is no silverfish entity in it, it merely triggers the spawning of one if broken. They get converted, replaced, not destroyed.

My best guess about this is the the catalyst is that I can not turn transparent, that is non-solid or partial blocks such as slabs stairs and glass so there are either upside down slabs or stairs where you don't want skulk to appear

That is correct, using the infested version of stone or stone bricks makes something of an invisible marker effect. It also works with slabs and stairs. Also damn those bots

The way this was done is due to a mixture of regular stone blocks and silverfish infested blocks
Silverfish blocks are stone blocks but completely different and cannot be changed

for the first clip, im guessing they used a command block, since skulk veins only spread one block from skulk, or used infested stone, or a resource pack that changes the obsidian or bedrock textures with stone

No, it’s intentional so you can’t use them to clear out infested stone without fighting silverfish.
