The small town I live in is a little south of Basel. I found a good job at a Swiss company and came to live in Switzerland over 38 years ago, not knowing how long I'd end up staying. I became a Swiss citizen, and a citizen of what became my new "home town", 12 years ago, which was relatively late in my life. I retained my original citizenship so I'm American and Swiss. It's very nice where I live, though the scenery is not as spectacularly beautiful as the places you show us in your video. I like to go on day trips to these kind of places sometimes, though I rarely do so because I like being at home so much. I have most of what I need either here or in Basel or in other nearby towns, and it's also nice that Germany is so close, because I like to go shopping there. Occasionally I also go shopping in St. Louis, a nearby French city. I've visited my home away from home, my original home, in the US, every year. I've had longer stays there since I retired. I feel quite attached to both places and to the people in my life who live there.
Thanks for this nice view on Switzerland. I am a Swiss who has moved to Thailand and I feel similar feelings there, as you feel in Switzerland. Maybe it is just the change in point of view, that makes us more aware and thankful.
Nice video. I was able to spend 10 days in Switzerland. Such a beautiful country. From the mountains to the amazing cities . Luzern a favorite of mine.
A real love story to Switzerland. I am here from my own choice too. And i feel this love to the nature and everything around too. Nice video. Well done. Enjoy your time.
This is a beautiful video, its content, the pictures, the words, it's simply beautiful and inspiring. Well done. I am glad you are able to take so much out of your stay here and I hope it will continue that way in your life, no matter where you are.
Thank you for posting this. It was just what I needed to see! I’m planning my move from the USA , to find peace and start new. I was in Switzerland last July and I said I have to come back. All the best!
Beautiful bio-pic! I'm glad you made it that far. Being Swiss and being married to a foreigner, i also know pretty well the challenges one might face here.
I grew up in Zug and moved on believing there is more out there and I am still on my journey to discover more outside of this beautiful district. Glad you're happy with your choice. I am happy I had the best education in Zug and live it somewhere else.
I'm pretty sure you really enjoyed your outdoor activities visiting the iconic scenes of one the most beautiful countries in the world. I love Switzerland so much and l can't wait moving to either Geneva or Bern sooner than later. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us
I am a Swiss who lives in the "Romandie", the part of the country where French is spoken (where you have Geneva, Lausanne, Montreux, etc.). Thanks for the video!
To much people want to move to Switzerland, unfortunately is a very small nation, we should start thinking how to export the Swiss model around the world and adapt it to the locals cultures.

Yes, one goes to beautiful, clean, safe countries where things work and you wonder: why can't other countries achieve the same standards ? Well done, you will be fine.
Schöner Beitrag, danke. Ich wohne mit meiner Frau und unseren beiden Kindern in Bern. Falls du einmal in Bern bist melde dich. Ich zeige dir gerne Bern und die Umgebung von Bern.
I like your videos. But please turn down the background music. It's too loud and it adds nothing to the content anyway. Best just drop it. Thanks again for the video.
yes, hard work is the secret. this country is "beautiful" because people work hard everyday. thousands of international studying people are not the part of that. someone pays for that.
@@AyshaFilms international students dont pay enough in my eyes. ita a pretty huge amount of them. and the number increase every year. why? i guess not only because of the high standards. How many of them stay and actually bring back the money?

If you need help for whatever issues here in Switzerland, I am more than happy to support you and let you know to whom you should speak to. Take care 😇😄
Friendly people? I've been here 17 years. I find them to be positively the nastiest, coldest, repressed, oppressed, suppressed, arrogant people in the world. Switzerland is a mini police state. It is also is one of the most beautiful countries which is why I stay......unfortunately the prices are double what they are everywhere else in the world.....happy you had a nice experience. Lovely video.....
Agree. It's a beautiful country by nature but the people are really bad. Why do you stay when there are other beautiful and more affordable countries with more natural diversity like USA, Norway, Germany, Canada?
@@JonGreeny …. It’s complicated like everything in life. I live up in the Saanenland in the Berner Oberland at 4,000 feet. I love Scandinavia but too cold and dark…also one of the most expensive parts of the world…Germany? never! America? just returned and the politics and gun situation worries me….oh…It’s impossible to make friends here unless they are expats too. No Swiss friends in 17 years. I’m entering my 7th decade so it’s not super easy to relocate but I do know that this is the last place I would want to grow old in, so I think in the next 3 years I will definitely be somewhere else. Just not sure where! Maybe Vancouver Island. No clue at this point. Thanks for asking 🤗 it’s quite a quandary.
It shocks me to read something like this! If you really feel like you describe about swiss people, you should leave. I really do not know to whom you had contact with but you must be very frustrated.
Sad but true. Switzerland is beautiful but not a friendly place to live. People are cold, distant and tend to make you feel always like a foreigner, even though you’ve lived most of your life contributing to the wealth and growing of the country.
@@jasminealixandranorth There is a saying, 'As you shout into the forest, so you hear out of the forest'. This means nothing other than that you should treat people kindly and with respect if you expect them to treat you with respect and kindness. Especially when you live in a foreign country. From your rhetoric, especially in your first comment, in which you insult the Swiss with the worst adjectives, it is quite clear that you are a person who does not show respect to other countries, people and their cultures. So don't draw conclusions about the people around you from yourself. A rhetorical question: why should someone be respectful and friendly towards you? You say that it's complicated like everything thing in life. I would say that the most (and probably the only) complicated thing in your life is yourself. Your channel description alone shows what a self-absorbed and self-centered person you are. It's obvious that you're unhappy with your life because you haven't done anything with it, except of being the daughter of a famous father. This is the only way to explain why you put him so much in the spotlight in your channel description. So it doesn't matter where you ever will live, you will always be unhappy und frustrated with your life, because wherever you live, so does your dissatisfaction.
I was born in Switzerland and lived here all my life and I know how privileged I am for this. I love travelling but after not too long, I always look forward to going home.
