Marc Scott Zicree is a science fiction writer who has worked on some of the most classic science fiction series going back decades, including Star Trek, The Next Generation, Star Trek Deep Space Nine, Babylon 5, Sliders, the list goes on and on. He's also one of the definitive experts on the Twilight Zone and worked recently with Gulliermo Del Toro. He also runs a RUclips channel called Mr. Sci Fi where you can watch his new fan-funded series, Space Command. He joined me to talk about his career in TV, the culture and community of science fiction fans, and how science fiction predicted the present and the future of humanity.

The reason, we've not done centrifugal gravity. There's been no need. We go for space for micro-gravity for short spaces of time. It's counter to our goals. For long term, it'll definitely be in.

Exactly this. We primarily go to space to test microgravity. To build something that replicates gravity would go against the current project.

In old science fiction, one of the terms I wish we stuck with was "visi plates" which were flat screen TVs. Visi plate is just a much more functional term

I have an idea for your studio, dumb perhaps, but...
What if the set walls, and EVen floors, could be more easily handled on the fly style? Imagine if you will, a central stage, ringed on three or more sides by large industrial automotive like manufacturing robots. Each is able to "file" away set edge walls. The walls can be worked on in the petrifies. Then as needed the boys can move them with ease. They could also add real high precision programmed motion of set scenes.
Can you see it? Is it silly?
