Looks like a fun tractor! Glad you had a spot for that 230 Buda gas engine that's pretty cool. Thanks for the reminder too, definitely need to go give the tractor a hug today. Have a good one Tim!

Pretty nice, neat little build. It will probably do that engine good to hook it to a sled for a little while and work it good, probably run smoothly after that, or finish off the head gasket. We used to have tractors come into the shop in the 90’s that would barely run, hook them to the Dyno for an hour or two and work the tar out of them and they ran like a top. Thanks for the videos. Be nice to see it hooked up to the sled.

Cool build . My dad (79) still runs a AC dealership. They pulled or contract in the 90’s but he kept the doors open as a independent and still have a lot of nos parts . He is the Zenith carburetor whisper as my pullers around the area will only let him rebuild and set up the carb . We actually have all the parts to build the same tractor as you but will probably never happen . Also own a 29 model U (Continental engine , radiator says Allis Chalmers not United ) and has always been on rubber tires. The block had a crack but had it pinned and welded . It does have a welded up piston in it too . It’s seized at the moment because a kid took the can off the exhaust 🤬. I’ve only ever seen one other U on rubber and that was a recent job because the rims were rotted from sitting in the ground. Always wanted to build a gas 301 with a converted diesel head , running a turbo and stuffing it into a d17 . A 301 in a 6060/6080 would be another swap I’d like to see done . Glad to found your channel .

Pretty cool! I had a WD45 diesel radiator and hood from the one we used to have back in the '60s around for a lot of years. Cleaned up my entire "junkyard" about 20 years ago. Now I wish I'd have kept those.

Nothing like straight pipes. Have a great evening Timothy. Driving that tractor like a kid with a new toy in Christmas.

A D17 diesel crankshaft would give you 1/4" more stroke, but you'd need custom pistons and the D17 Cam or the rods will hit the cam.

  • @tedbuisker6827

The 45 diesel didn't work very well in Canada because the start hard in cold weather, so many Canadian diesels were converted to gas just as you have done there.

My Uncle and Cousin owned one. They where a mean tractor when you added a torbo and a head off a 190xt Allis Chalmers.

My Uncle Bill used in Fall Fair in Town Of Port Hope Ontario Canada east Toronto with belt drive on Ferry Wheel in second week of September each up till 1992 ! Sadly in 1993 was hit miss on motor between 3 and 4 cylinders on low or medium or high idle even after Oil change plus Pot Filter also Fuel Filter plus points were okay plus Cap also Rotor also Wires and spark plugs to change to carb was tune right! What found happened is Gear on Distributor and Oil pump had chip out one chip went to number 4 cylinders bearing in crank sezied up tight plus cobs on Distributor gear and Oil pump to so tractor motor was screwed for life and crack in block to ! No motor could be found for it so tractor was parts model and sold in 1993 Fall Season! But was guy need parts tractor he fix up to restoration on he did memories one of my Late Grandfather Bill SR plus years later on my late Uncle Bill SR to and Dad Don to ran farm on from 1950 to 1993 ! i grew up in southern il in the 60s on a farm we used AC and farmalls. the prototype test farm was close to me. befor the D14 and D17 tractos came out a WD55 and a WD65 tractors were made for testing. they used the gas 6 cylinder engines from 2 model gleaner combines in a wd45 dsl frame , they were supposed to be true 4-14 plow tractors but AC got 62hp out of the WD45 engine in the D17 so the idea was scrapped as the 6cylinder engines drank too much gas..the antique tractor show in greenville il features a few of these oddballs .only6 were built as prototype units the rest were farmer creations
