    People hate on RAM/Dodge for long term reliability but if you’ve owned one that’s not a work truck, you know they’re the nicest driving trucks (accelerating, cruising, stopping, interior noise, all of it).
    I really liked the Denali Duramax I drove but I could not believe the lack of stopping power it had. And that truck was a tonne of money … Prices are nuts now but they’re nuts on every manufacturer, not just RAM.

      I had a 99' Durango for 9 years, then a 2009 RAM 1500 for 8 years, Now I have a 2022 Ram 1500 and I have never, ever, had an issue - Just keep up with normal maintenance, oil changes, etc and you are good to go. My Durango had 160k miles, my 2009 ram had 88,000 miles, and my 22 is sitting at 18 currently.

      I am as you were. 40 years I stayed away from Dodge. Now that I may be in the market again soon I've given them a second look. Did some research, most was positive. They I physically checked them out. I must say, very nice truck. I think the ride quality was excellent, as far as the interior it's no ever close. I think this is the area they have distanced themselves from the other manufacturers. I personally don't think it's even close. The design and the materials are on another level. I believe I've found my next truck. Hopefully Stellantis can stay afloat. It the 5th largest auto maker, and has been struggling.

      @@curtissmith8789 the Ram Box's are one of the greatest innovations ive seen in a truck. Very useable and practical. Same goes for the cabin coolers down by the floor boards. The 1500s ride very similarly to the old towncars. Not like a traditional leaf sprung truck. The rear coils dont experience axle wrap or transfer any sharp bumps to the cabins occupants. Smooth. Smooth like youll never look at another truck the same way. The full panoramic moonroof is the best ive seen. The split tail gate is highly useful and the cabin itself is very spacious. The ZF 8hp70 is fantastic. Just look up who uses these transmissions and youll see. Yes, a hard pill to swallow but these Rams are sweet. Human nature can be lile that some times

    Had a 2019 Limited 1500 and it was an incredible truck. So much more comfortable than my 2024 Lexus GX 550. Miss the truck, but it was way too large as my commuter to downtown and trying to parallel park. Loved it on the weekends, for biking, camping, fishing. Miss it but would buy again if it was smaller… not mid size smaller.

  • @bret9741
    @bret9741 22 дня назад

    I’m a huge fan of RAM designers and leaders that have pushed for a much higher quality interior. Ram uses the best foam (seat cushions last much longer than ford and GM seat cushions… ford drivers seat foam begins breaking down within a few months. 90% of the Ford F series drivers seat base cushions look broken down by 35,000 - 40,000 miles. Rams seat cushions just hold up for years longer. Also Rams leather and synthetic leathers are bolstered underneath so that the surface leathers don’t tear or wrinkle until the foam brakes down.
    The only disappointment I have with Ram is the following. (1) payload should be higher on their 1500-2500 trucks. (2) the interior and exterior updates don’t change enough or as often as they should. For example the F-150 has a compete new truck with many noticeable updates. For example 2009 all new truck saw major changes in 2013. Its exterior and interior saw major improvements and refresh. Then total new truck in 2015 with major refresh in 2018, 2020 and then totally new in 2021 with major updates in 2024.
    Ram 1500 saw an all new truck in 2019. This was a monumental change from the 2018. But the 2025 looks about the same as the 2018. My wife and I were looking at a new 2024 and new 2025 Limited and she couldn’t tell them apart. The changes are so minimal and truthfully the RAM trucks are all beginning to look dated. The HD RAM trucks a screaming for an all new design. I would not have complained much had the exterior sheet metal changed a lot, and the interior changed a lot… like the 2020 ford vs 2021 or the GM 1500 changes from 2014-2018/2024.
    I’m buying a new truck before the end of the year. I need a heavy half tone for towing and payload. Rams payload and towing in the 1/2 ton model is not very good.
    The main reasons I may end up with the Ram is its high quality materials inside and I love the Rambox system in the 1500 and 2500. I’ve found there is very little lost bed especially in the Ram 2500.
    My ideal Ram isn’t available. It would be the 1500 crew with the 6’4” bed with multi-function tailgate and Rambox. Id love for it to be a hybrid like fords hybrid system. Then make it capable of pulling 12,000lbs and payload of 1800-2000. I really like the Ford F-150 Hybrid. Its city mileage is very good and the Generator function is outstanding on job sites. As a matter of fact it runs longer and is almost silent.
    The negative in the ford is its seat cushions and the synthetic leather on the side of the Platinum where it connects to the real leather brakes down and tears along the stitches usually noticeably by 25-35k miles.

    Have a 2022 Limited Night Edition. Two main things keep me from upgrading. The first one is the fact that there is no RAM box delete option for these (unless you go with the bigger bed). That is a deal breaker. I dont like the narrow bed visual, would never use the boxes, and dont want to lose the cargo space. Second is this is a night edition, yet they havent added any black accents to the tail lights, as with the prior year model. The rear of the night editions was always very sharp (especially black on black). Hate the look of the bright red tails for a night edition. Also looked to be over 6 seconds to hit 60 there. Not game changing over the Hemi.

    Yes. ben. Probably the best truck in the segment right now...based on 2019 design. Thats how ram leapfrog ford and chevy. Chevy has to do a 2 year refresh cuz the ram interiir was so good. And then for had to redesign their dash midcycle because they need a bigger screen like the ram. So they now copied the exhaust bumper design and coil springs as well. If yoyr a truck guy u know...if your a lemming. U buy ford cuz they told u it was good. Like trumper ignorance. Just lack of knowledge...

    It's okay, but nothing special, really. They keep putting cheap, gimicky crap in it, like that passenger side screen that no one will ever use (and it looks ridiculous), and it's definitely not worth anywhere near what they're asking for it. Between that and the loss of the Hemi, I'm gonna have to give it a hard pass. With the way these manufacturers are all going, you'd almost be better off getting an older truck, like a square body or something, and fixing it up to be exactly what you want. It'll be everything you want and need, it'll be reliable, and it'll cost maybe a third of what they want for this thing.

    Nobody wants these things without a V8. Doesn’t matter how good the 6 cylinder is, it has no business in a RAM truck.

      Yeah why would anyone want an engine that is lighter, has more horsepower, more torque , is quicker, is smooth as silk, very quiet and has better gas mileage?

    • @JasonJonathan78
      @JasonJonathan78 17 дней назад

      @ the power could be replicated by forced induction or updated HEMI. Don’t care how smooth and quiet it is in a truck, most would prefer a raucous personality in this application. Mileage is the same unless it’s towing where it’s worse. The engine is the wrong fit for the application. I drove one and absolutely hated it. Zero personality. No noise. No fun. Worst test drive I’ve ever had.

    • @wallykos6784
      @wallykos6784 17 дней назад

      @@JasonJonathan78 I have not driven one yet, so you have me there, but every review I have seen has been positive. These are high end luxury trucks, they are not meant to be “raucous”. Understand that this truck is not for you, there are plenty of choices for you, but to say it is a miss is wrong. Ford’s twin turbo six has been around for years and has been well received. Hey we have to agree it’s better than some EV piece of crap in a truck.

    • @JasonJonathan78
      @JasonJonathan78 16 дней назад

      @ I was speaking more in terms of the RAM in general. Yes this is the luxury model and the buyer demographic may be slightly different. But not completely. I’m a truck owner/buyer and I work with tradesmen, and none of them are happy about the six cylinder nor are any of them interested in purchasing one. YMMV.
