Forgot to credit Shawn the CHB for the mission briefing, as it were. Glad I finally got him into an episode! Sorry for the delay on this one. Had a busy week delaying the episode, then had a big delay recording it when another bout of Covid struck.
Steve Blum as Ethan Hunt doesn't sound like he's Wolverine, I played the game before and it's more closer to Spike Spiegel from CowBoy BeBop that Blum voiced in for the English dup
I like picturing that while all this is happening, Wolverine voiced Ethan is just swearing over and over, desperately trying to work out who's spotting him?
3:15, Funny how Yuri Lowenthall (the voice of Spider Man in the PS4 games) was in a similar situation when voicing Vilgax (a character originally voiced by Steve Blum) in the Ben 10 reboot.
Okay, so - being the life-long Splinter Cell fan that I am, I immediately recognized those body-moving animations as being more or less just lifted from the first game. The start-point is similar - in SC's case, you're trying to track down some CIA moles that went missing from the new shady dictator's cabinet and in the process of that discover that he actually has his hands on some super dangerous cyber-warfare weapons, which are actually deployed later on. Here, though - I feel like everything past maybe the first two stages were more or less to justify the costs of hiring Steve Blum to do the voice-work (which itself I feel is another attempt to try to keep up with Michael Ironside's legendary voice acting for Sam Fisher).
It's funny how you can just be thinking to yourself "I wonder if Jadow is going to upload a new video soon", and then when I wake up, here it is. Good review, never heard anything about this game. Always heard more about the Minority Report game for its glass destruction physics.
The other well known Mission Impossible game related to the hit movie franchise that features Tom Cruise in death defying stunts for almost 30 years now
11:45 I discovered a glitch. If you run straight at the glass screen and target the guard with a jump kick, it lets you phase right through it. You have to set it up perfectly though.
Funny you mention the stealth suit resembling both Sam Fisher and Solid Snake as I once cosplayed as Sam Fisher at a comic con. 2 people thought I was Ethan Hunt. Even crazier is how the stealth suit in this game resembles the one in Splinter Cell: Blacklist which has yet to come out at the time.
The Hitman devs are making a James Bond game, so while it's not the same series, you'll still be getting something from them based on a popular secret agent series.
Tom Cruise is super stingy with any thing Mission Impossible. One of the rare times he gave his likeness to anything MI related was the LEGO Dimensions pack
I was very patiently waiting for you to mention that it's a blantant rip off of Splinter Cell so thank you for doing that, they werent even trying to hide it. Green night vision, shimying on pipes with the same animations, peeking behind cover, hiding bodies in shadows.
Not counting the portable versions of the games you already covered, there is one remaining Mission: Impossible game, the NES game based on the original TV show. Any plans to look at it to complete the franchise?

Uh they fired the harpoon into the Sub's hull. But yeah you are RIGHT! Just wait until he's on the surface you idiots, AND HOW THE FUCK DID THE OTHERS GET THERE WITHOUT AN EXTRA BOAT?! They should've had the briefing in a fake fish that they give to him so atleast it makes more sense since you can fish out in the sea, and then just drive off on their own boat, giving him peace to read/hear it.
So the IMF finally splurged on cover piercing ammo. Why couldn't protagonists allied intelligence agencies do this more often in games? And I'm going to laugh if a Batman game made bv this team gets announced next week.

The show more or less did like everything low stakes, conspiracies, bio weapons, dictators, now I haven’t seen the show in years but that’s what I remember at best. I think the reason why the movies are way different is because James Bond utterly rebuilt the movie industry on how to do spy thrillers and competition wanted to do their spin on it.
