Is it a good idea to invest on extra charge moves rather than powering up your Pokemons? Please make a video for complete beginners without powerful Pokemons. Thanks!

I'm 65 out of 105. My main team is Hypno , Umbreon, and Grotle. Just started the game 4 weeks ago those are my best options right now. But I am rank 7, 1567 rank points.
16:40 I really think that the concept of overfarming, the option to do so, should be better implemented in the userface. One way this could be done is making it fill up from scratch, but having the button still pop out to indicate it can be used, maybe with a number for (1) full charge. Think of how special meters in some fighting games look for an idea of what I mean, you can see that you have charge but you can also see how far along you are into the next "bar". Hope I'm making sense, I'd love to hear some alternatives, maybe some that better take the 100 energy limit into account.
I just started playing 2 months ago and have been doing a lot of go battle league. What I didn't realize is people are counting your fast moves and they know how many fast moves it takes for each pokemon to get to a charge move. Very advanced stuff. They have remembered all fast moves for every pokemon, the number of turns the move is and how many moves to get to the charge, on top of all the counters and resistances. I can't count the amount of times I lost being one move away from a charge or one fast move away from a win because the opponent has snuck extra moves in.
Yes please. The video is helpful as I do battle for fun and it is not about winning or losing for me but I would like to try and win more. This will definitely help, thanks.
I can only play in the great league with the Pokemon I have. here's the team I scraped together. Sudowoodo: Fast:Rock throw Charged:Stone edge 2 star stats Flareon: Fast:Fire spin Charged:Overheat 2 star stats Jolteon: Fast:Volt switch Charged:Thunder 2 star stats I have one fast and one charged tm so if anyone has advice I'll take it
This actually helped a lot even though the info is a bit outdated I applied what I learned here to my battles and my win loss rate In the past hour was a lot better than it used to be
definitely you have to do more of these... now that Pokemon practically made pvp a must form of game,we who only used to raid, are really struggling ...
How do you move? Think about for a beginner who has no clue how to play the game. What are the basics for movement from when the battle starts. I feel like I'm just rapidly hitting the screen as soon as the battle starts.
Before there was an exploit where if you were not connected to WiFi and right when you got paired up with someone you go into Airplane mode for about 5 seconds, you could freeze your opponent and have a guaranteed win. That's why Niantic locked the battles for about 24 hours a couple nights ago they were working to patch that. Not sure if it's fully fixed yet but yeah it was very annoying.
I have SO many Pokemon that are ready to evolve except I need a bunch of Sinnoh Stones. Being terrible at battling is the one thing holding me back. Thank you both for the great tips - I was building my teams as I watched and am hoping I have more success with these strategies now!
I’m 120 wins out of 147 games (and most of them with people my rating) which i think is definitely good (82% WR) with Altaria/Melmetal/Whiscash, awesome team and Melmetal has won me soooooooooo many games. The fact that it’s a 99% IV (0/14/15) also helps of course.
JRskatr yeah it’s fun! The trick tho is that I have Thunderbolt in Melmetal for Azumarril (+Stone Edge) instead of Superpower and really tilts the game in your favor against Azu (plus against Skarmory). The opposing metal bois are handled with Whiscash so Superpower is not really needed ;)
This Comment might actually help you see how much type advantage can mean! The following Example I will use is *[Emolga* (-Yes I _do_ know it is not out yet, but I will still use it because I like it.) can deal _higher_ DPS than *Mewtwo* to *Gyarados.].* Against *Gyarados* in a gym, *Emolga* with the optimal moveset can or _will_ _(-Depending on moveset said _*_Gyarados_*_ has and WAB)_ receive *zero* faints. *Emolga* can also deal _higher_ DPS than *Mewtwo* to *Gyarados* in a gym battle. *Jolteon, Raikou,* or *Zapdos* with the optimal moveset and _at least equal_ level advantage _will_ get *zero* faints. Conversely, *Mewtwo* with the optimal moveset _will_ get *zero* faints, *Emolga* can get *one* faint. *Emolga* has more conditions though were [It is more likely to get *zero* faints than *one* faint.] than were [It is more likely to get *one* faint than *zero* faints.]. If you use the battle method were [You spam the charged move button. (-It _is_ actually pretty easy to do.)], and you have *Emolga* with an equal/a higher level compared to *Gyarados,* even with the _worst_ RNG, *Emolga* will _not_ even get *two* faints. Returning to DPS, *Emolga* with the optimal moveset will deal _higher_ DPS to *Gyarados* than *Mewtwo* with the optimal moveset. *Jolteon* with the optimal moveset will deal ~160% of the DPS as *Mewtwo. Raikou* and *Zapdos* with the optimal moveset will deal _almost double_ DPS to *Gyarados* compared to *Mewtwo* with the optimal moveset. The reason a _tiny_ 1'4" Electric-type like *Emolga* can deal higher DPS than a 6'7" Psychic-type like *Mewtwo* to a _gigantic_ 21'4" Water/Flying-type like *Gyarados* is because of *×2.56* type advantage.
Azumarill, Altaria, Sableye. Bastiodon, Azumarill, Alolan Marowak were very solid spreads for me. The Sableye one was very good for the longest time. I'd normally win about 4 out of 5.
Sorry for writing a second comment but, what non legendary electric pokemon should I use? Jolteon is a little too squishy, even tough he was fenomenal.
Alolan Raichu with Volt Switch + Thunder Punch/Grass Knot. Just know Volt Switch is a slow move so you don't want to be spam-tapping because you could accidentally trigger another quick move when you wanted to use a charge move. It takes some practice to learn the timing. :)
Counting fast moves and farming energy go hand in hand. That's everyone's advantage against Azu, Skarm, and Gfisk being so common. Easy to learn their charge needs.
More of these pvp videos please! I am already doing quite well in battle league myself but I did learn about the different color of shield from this video, so it was very we worth the watch, thanks billy keep up the great content man 👍🏻
Amazing video, as always! I am just mad because now the pvp has been impossible to win with those As... s cheaters using the airplane mode! however, I will always be thankful for your videos and recommendantions
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I know a lot went into it. And I know people will benefit from all this information! Thanks to Justin too! What a great friend to have.
Honestly I feel like the battle system is a bit dull. "Getting good"is basically hoping that your enemy doesn't have those good Pokemons that you don't have either. Also connection affects how fast you can attack and sometimes you can't even use your charged attack even if you smash it. I know it's hard to make a good battle system for a mobile game and it's not that important. I just think battle league is a waste of time.
Yeah it really only comes down to having luck that your lead Pokémon won’t be weak to their lead Pokémon because otherwise you will be fucked cos you can either let your Pokémon be annihilated or switch and then they will just switch their Pokémon and you are locked into a losing battle.
If you take it on a more casual road it's fun because free stardust + entertainment in the game without leaving the house. I did get pretty lucky with the IVs on some of my teams though
JRskatr blissy is great to leave in gyms it has strong defense and high cp. just check it’s weaknesses levelskip.com/rpgs/Pokemon-Go-Type-Effectiveness-Guide
Thank you I have learned a lot from this. I had no clue that you could farm the energy like that. It made me understand what has been happening to me in the battles. Thank you thank you
@@TheTrainerClub Did 200 battles with 60 wins. I know how to use my pokemon and that, but there are some issues. 1: The lag. It's so bad here that I can't always use my charged moves in time. 2: Many people use the defense form of Deoxys, which is a pain to take down. It's defense is the second highest after Shuckle, and people still use shields. Also I don't have many counters for it, the pokemon I catch have absolutely crap stats, no stars at all. 3: It's difficult to change moves since I'm not getting many tms.
Not bad dude, mine was 263 battles, 133 wins 7 win streak ; 50% win percentage. There were many battles I could have won had the lag been fixed... it’s a shame.
Got a love the people that complain that it’s too difficult… I can see about 20% of what most people can see I can’t see how effective or anything like that I go off the Pokémon sound telling me what Pokémon it is and yeah sometimes I truly don’t know what it is but I still get to level 20 or 21 every season
@@MrVibe-tx4rn sounds like you just suck at it, there's plenty of skill involved, knowing when to switch, which charged move to use, types counters and weaknesses, counting etc etc

So far I'm 220 wins / 432 loss, with a longest streak of 9. I've only been playing for a couple of months and am currently level 28, so I'm still building my teams and learning how to play. I've found that the league with no CP limit seems to be easier for me, with the 1500 and 2500 max CP leagues being filled with overpowered, established player twinks like Gyardos, Dragonites, and legendaries. My favorite combo for what I have so far is Vaporeon, Metagross, and Kyurem. I've been able to stomp a lot of really high level, established teams with this group. My alolan muk is really strong too, despite having a limited CP around 2300. Thanks for the tips, and have a great time in there everyone. It can be really hard to lose, but it's best to congratulate the other player and have some sportsmanship.
Honestly, this game is bullshit and luck. Hoping your team matches up well, and that your internet connection is decent and your opponent isn't using Airplane mode.
I have a 1499 Swampert that is awesome in the current battle league. My 1499 Alteria is good too and I find Basculin is also a solid water type option.
I am sure I have just been really lucky so far, but I did take out 3 legendary birds with my Swampert. I did weekend the Articuno a little before getting the Swampert in the battle though.
Umbreon yes, very solid pick (hopefully you have Last Resort as one of your charge moves but if not that could still be ok). Snorlax and Golduck not so much. If you do run Snorlax though I would probably go with Lick as the quick move and Body Slam/Earthquake for the charge move. For Golduck you could run Confusion for the quick move and then Bubble Beam to lower your opponents attack and Cross Chop to cover against Registeel or perhaps Ice Beam to cover against the Grass types and flying types. Hope that helps!

@@hitendrakhanna4345 For sure! Whiscash is a super solid pick, charges to Mud Bomb really quickly which is super effective against Registeel/Toxicroak/Haunter and you have Blizzard to cover against Altaria/Skarmory etc. Also Swampert hits super hard with Hydro Cannon and you could either use Earthquake to cover against Registeel or Sludgewave to cover against Azumarill/Venusaur etc. You could also Try Lapras with Ice Shard and any of its charge moves other than Blizzard get the job done pretty well. Just pair it with a Flyer because you'll be weak to grass and fighting so you'll want to have some coverage in case you get in trouble. But ice shard is awesome against Altaria :)

Sometimes when I use aloalan Raichu I first go with a thunder punch then the enemy will put on a shield (this is if your fighting grass types). Once they realize and do the attack again I do frenzy plant to finish them off as they get a lot of damage from the frenzy plant.
I don't really know what I'm doing, but in Ultra League I've had some success (85% win rate) with a shadow claw/blast burn Typhlosion, a bullet seed/leaf blade Sceptile, and a bite/stone edge Tyranitar. I've noticed people often panic switch out from the Typhlosion because, I assume, they don't expect a fire type lead.
Great video Billy, had been doing a little of the Silph league and have got on a little for Go Battle but still really useful tips, hanks Billy and Justin
It seems like if you've been playing for a while, you can win. If you're new like me, and don't have many good Pokemon, then prepare to lose all the time. It would be cool if they matched on level as well.
Thanks, keep these coming! I'm doing PvP mostly while grinding buddies. I discovered I get quite a bit of Stardust doing battles EVEN WHEN I LOSE! If I win, I get more. A side effect of doing these battles is that I actually get better at it. My teams consist of two good 'mon and whatever I'm grinding. It is great if I'm grinding a 1497 Marshstomp, not so good with a ~300 CP Bagon. But I sometimes even win some of those. I run about 50% and have gotten to level 20 where I pretty much stop progressing, but I do get encounters with Legendaries at that level.

Great video! I’m new to PVP and I went from a sad 44% win rate to winning 14 in a row!
Wow 14 that's amazing! I think my best streak right now is 11 lol
Great info. Like you I didn't know about red and blue shields.
I pretty much learned all of this thru trial and error, wish I woulda looked this up when I started the battle league. Great video
This is good to know. I am getting good at these things, these strategies.
How can you get two charged moves?
Welcome to The Trainer Club, here we go!
Yes please. The video is helpful as I do battle for fun and it is not about winning or losing for me but I would like to try and win more. This will definitely help, thanks.
I can only play in the great league with the Pokemon I have. here's the team I scraped together.
Sudowoodo: Fast:Rock throw Charged:Stone edge 2 star stats
Flareon: Fast:Fire spin Charged:Overheat 2 star stats
Jolteon: Fast:Volt switch Charged:Thunder 2 star stats
I have one fast and one charged tm so if anyone has advice I'll take it
This actually helped a lot even though the info is a bit outdated I applied what I learned here to my battles and my win loss rate In the past hour was a lot better than it used to be
Me; Alright! I'm gonna finally get a Legendary!
Opposing trainers with Legendary and Sudo-Legendaries; *n* *o*

Thats just how I say it
definitely you have to do more of these... now that Pokemon practically made pvp a must form of game,we who only used to raid, are really struggling ...
Good, these strategies r actually becoming second nature to me.
How do you move? Think about for a beginner who has no clue how to play the game. What are the basics for movement from when the battle starts. I feel like I'm just rapidly hitting the screen as soon as the battle starts.
Was so waiting for this.. Thanks.. :D
You know I'm here for you :)

Haters
The biggest problem I'm having is weak connection. 75 battles, 32 wins. At least 10 of those battles were me standing there doing nothing.

GOOOOOOO
LETS GO!!!
I have SO many Pokemon that are ready to evolve except I need a bunch of Sinnoh Stones. Being terrible at battling is the one thing holding me back. Thank you both for the great tips - I was building my teams as I watched and am hoping I have more success with these strategies now!
Thank you for this, i needed to see this. i am very green with pvp. Id like to see more but also plan to add Justin's channel
John Tomlinson Thanks so much I really appreciate it!
Dani Castro wow nice man! Gonna have to try that team out for sure 😎👍🏼
@@Dantehhhhh yeah I was thinking Thunderbolt would be necessary for Melmetal, that's a solid strategy for sure!
Thank you for this. I have been struggling with Go Battle.
This Comment might actually help you see how much type advantage can mean!
The following Example I will use is *[Emolga* (-Yes I _do_ know it is not out yet, but I will still use it because I like it.) can deal _higher_ DPS than *Mewtwo* to *Gyarados.].*
Against *Gyarados* in a gym, *Emolga* with the optimal moveset can or _will_ _(-Depending on moveset said _*_Gyarados_*_ has and WAB)_ receive *zero* faints.

Thank you for all these tips.
Thanks for coming on board
Azumarill, Altaria, Sableye. Bastiodon, Azumarill, Alolan Marowak were very solid spreads for me. The Sableye one was very good for the longest time. I'd normally win about 4 out of 5.
This was helpful and encouraging, going to research pairings and find a team to study and perfect.
Sorry for writing a second comment but, what non legendary electric pokemon should I use? Jolteon is a little too squishy, even tough he was fenomenal.
Alolan Raichu. Very reliable and spammy.
Easy to learn their charge needs.
basically rng
More of these pvp videos please! I am already doing quite well in battle league myself but I did learn about the different color of shield from this video, so it was very we worth the watch, thanks billy keep up the great content man 👍🏻
Amazing video, as always! I am just mad because now the pvp has been impossible to win with those As... s cheaters using the airplane mode! however, I will always be thankful for your videos and recommendantions
Yeah it's annoying, Niantic was supposed to have fixed it already but I'm not convinced they fully fixed it...
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. I know a lot went into it. And I know people will benefit from all this information! Thanks to Justin too! What a great friend to have.
Thanks so much for the kind words, really means a lot! :)
PvP is definitely broken.
If you take it on a more casual road it's fun because free stardust + entertainment in the game without leaving the house. I did get pretty lucky with the IVs on some of my teams though
Lmao bot
@@reddd-77 what
I never knew about the color of the shield before until this video … learn something new everyday
I play with lapras with ice moves, a excadrill and blissy
Wow interesting team! How has Blissey worked out so far?
JRskatr blissy is great to leave in gyms it has strong defense and high cp. just check it’s weaknesses levelskip.com/rpgs/Pokemon-Go-Type-Effectiveness-Guide
I’m rank 7 and only 1700-1800 rating, I did not know about the shield color! Thank you!!
I love this video!
Could you go over PvP stats?
I'm sure I've I've Candy'd some probably good PvP stated Pokemon :(
That's actually our next video! ;)
Thank you I have learned a lot from this. I had no clue that you could farm the energy like that. It made me understand what has been happening to me in the battles. Thank you thank you
I would rely on type advantage!
Thank you so much for making this video. Your videos are the most helpful and my favorite PoGo channel. I appreciate how your always helping us out.
I'm I first also 160 battles played 68 won
Way to get after it!
Nice! Keep it up!! 😎
Hydro Cannon is really overpowered
Swampert and Empoleon are examples of these
Alan Koek community day moves in general are OP
New to Go Battle and just tried the lineup suggested and won 4 battles. Here we go!!!!😁😁😁 feeling chezy about now.
Haha nice! See how many wins you can get in a row doing that! ;)
My connection is what kills me most of the time
I’ve got gyarados crogunk and stelix. 14 win streak
Ivan Hernandez wow that’s nice man! Keep it up!!
I used the anti meta team of Durant, latias, and Lapras all the way till rank 7.. lul
Can you rate my Pokémon I use in ultra league, it is charizard, gengar, and machamp
literally no skill in pogo pvp. Just pray you dont have a poke weak to the other guys team or rip.
No actually, I as a level 25 beat a level 38 with skill 👌
@@shestheone1503 You literally tap the screen a few times. It's essentially based on the pokemon you pick. Literally no skill involved.
@@MrVibe-tx4rn sounds like you just suck at it, there's plenty of skill involved, knowing when to switch, which charged move to use, types counters and weaknesses, counting etc etc
its a garbage system that isn't fair competitively, its really luck of the draw on who has a better connection or lags and doesn't lag at the right time, its truly a piece of garbage game, sometimes the opponent will sit there and continue attacking me when I'm doing my special move and following the colored dots, its just a bad game, don't waste your time.
@@shestheone1503 Look at the comment above. Gain some brain cells.
I’m level 32. Starting level 5 in battle go, it started getting tough. Opponent Pokémon were so Tanky, super effective would do 25% damage 😬. My luck
Hang in there! The more you practice the better you'll get 😉
“Don’t pick garbage Pokémon”
There are no garbage Pokémon 😤
Haha true, should have clarified "garbage PvP pokemon" :-p
Trubbish and Garbodor ;)
Muk
Blissey is garbage
William Malapitan no, i like blissey, you just personally dislike blissey
Seriously, who disliked this ? ...
Agreeeeeeed 🙂
Cheaters XD
5 salty people apparently
People Billy beat in pvp
Nah man. Its just the way youtube works
So i am a low trainer level and i use snorlax umbereon and goldduck
So help me is it A good team also i dont have the pokemon u suggest ed
Umbreon yes, very solid pick (hopefully you have Last Resort as one of your charge moves but if not that could still be ok). Snorlax and Golduck not so much. If you do run Snorlax though I would probably go with Lick as the quick move and Body Slam/Earthquake for the charge move. For Golduck you could run Confusion for the quick move and then Bubble Beam to lower your opponents attack and Cross Chop to cover against Registeel or perhaps Ice Beam to cover against the Grass types and flying types. Hope that helps!
@@JRskatrPvP thank u somuch bro ihave more pokemon just suggest me some more pokemon to make my team stronger also add me on whatsapp if possible 7688870030
@@JRskatrPvP bro iam very sorry but dont have the pokemon u suggest u r a pro and i would like u to add me on whatsapp. I would send screenshot s of pokemon i have and then u could help me plzz bro 7688870030 is my no. I will not disturb u bro its a request
@@hitendrakhanna4345 I don't have Whatsapp on my phone but you REALLY should check out PogoKieng on RUclips he literally just uploaded a video the other day where he used 75 unique pokemon to do GBL league matches. You're definitely bound to have some of those Pokémon.. ;)
my team crustle, crobat and metagross. unbeatable almost, tgis vid has helped alot really do show a little mindfulness and an actual strategy helps. just smashing and using charge moves fast as I can before haha
I have enough rare candy to unlock a third attack and level up my registeel, but it got bad IVs. That’s why i don’t know if it’s worth the investment
Great video Billy, had been doing a little of the Silph league and have got on a little for Go Battle but still really useful tips, hanks Billy and Justin
great video, nice change up and kudos for giving the experiencd guest mic time to pass his info on.
I m not getting the move
Lock on
On my registeel???
dias Elijah took my friend 8 tries just the other day. Just keep trying it’s worth it
It seems like if you've been playing for a while, you can win. If you're new like me, and don't have many good Pokemon, then prepare to lose all the time. It would be cool if they matched on level as well.
I don’t have a Bastiodo😕😕😕
But I’m building a new teams for next season in Pokémon go
Thanks, keep these coming!
