I hope your team is able to retain him. He just works as a part of the team. Great personality. Great goalie

Just watched an interview with him where he said he just finished watching the first two seasons of the documentary and is all caught up this season! Didn’t see much else other than what he’s said in the past. There’s still hope! And congrats to the lad who’s done with his exams!! 👏
    Have a good day.

I like Arthur's earlier statement a week or two ago, very diplomatic and leaving the door open. I have to imagine he will be back with us next season but one doesn't want to tip their hand while contract negotiations are happening. It also isn't like we're focusing solely on Arthur - I know Phil, the new CEO, and others are looking at other candidates in case contract talks don't go well with Arthur.

I do think money is going to talk with Arthur and if we reach agreement on wages he will stay. I do think he has enjoyed his time at Wrexham. I am not so sure if he would sign a long contract though and I suppose I really would not blame him.

We are all aware from the documentaries how supportive the owners are with helping the players develop their own business interests aside of simply playing football.
Commercially I would imagine there will be some form of commonality as part of a successful deal to sign Arthur.
    All sounds very positive though.

Yes exactly this. I think Ryan and Rob can offer something to Arthur that no other clubs can.

@@WrexhamAFCfanzone I agree, plus the high visibility of the club (thanks to the show) is helpful to the player careers. I have to imagine, like any other club, there are behind the scenes events going on that we are not going to be privy to. It's frustrating to not hear anything, but we will when there's something to be told. :)

I've never known players in the national league having their own clothing ranges or autobiographies! The show, Ryan and Rob has launched businesses for the players.

I don't know why Wrexham is insistent on waiting to the last second to get these deals done. Okonkwo should have been signed the moment the transfer window opened.

Its always the same, really frustrating, isn't it?

They do have a chance to re-sign him. But I think he's just trying to get the best deal that he can from them before he does so.

No different to most players I suppose, just hope he doesn't price himself out and we end up losing him.

Nice to hear, hope that Okwonko stays with Wrexham FC! So the active talks McElhenney mentions, does that include Reynolds and McElhenney on their knees crying and begging Arthur Okwonko to stay? Or is it a much more business like and mature negotiation?😂

I hope so , and I hope they make. video of it too LOL I am sure it will be a bit of both.

He won't be back; one of the other teams interested in him will make him a financial offer we can't refuse. Wrexham is not in a position to pour money into him when they have so many other positions to fill to stay competitive in L1

    • @WrexhamAFCfanzone
      @WrexhamAFCfanzone  13 дней назад

Well we will know soon enough. It looks like we are making offers but not quite there yet. Rob Mcelhenney is going to Wrexham in a week or so to persuade him.
