I have found that I have to reach out to the customer service team for a lot of issues and questions... versus being able to do things on my own in the app or online, but since their chat customer service is excellent service and fast, that's generally okay. The graphs of usage is nice. My parents switched to Mint Mobile around the same time, and they also have no issues. Their speeds are probably faster (in the big city here), and if it wasn't for needing to prepay for multiple months and lower coverage around other rural parts of the US, I'd be right there with them. They also don't provide detailed usage graphs, which is unfortunate. I do want to mention that Mint Mobile has pretty pitiful international data options, but US Mobile has great international data options, and you don't need to be a regular customer to use US Mobile internationally... as long as you have e-sim and a free US Mobile account! I remember switching from Visible to US Mobile and porting to a new phone which they did flawlessly at 6am, finished by 7, great to call and see what the progress report was.
I tried it and the porting was not an easy process. Also later found out, that you can’t call 800 numbers or Puerto Rico while using the Verizon network on USMobile.
Is mint mobile bad with coverage, service, and overpaying later on? Edit: I'm only asking because I've seen Vids of people saying how you pay more and the coverage not being good.
Hey Juan, nice video! I like the smooth radio voice. What would you recommend for me to do go with if I will be in Germany for 6 months on military orders? Should I get a local German sim for data, and then use Google Voice? Or what do you suggest?
My experience with Visible had lots of drop calls in same areas where we had no issues with Verizon. This was with multiple phones. So my family begged me to go back to Verizon.
@@prouddaddyofdos Visible doesn't use domestic roaming and Verizon CDMA network (only Verizon LTE). So if you have good Verizon LTE signal, you are good to go. Your phone must be compatible with Verizon network and VoLTE (not every phone with LTE has VoLTE). Sometimes you need your service to be set to CDMA-Less mode by contacting with Visible customer service (some phones need that). But if you have good coverage in Verizon because you use some local provider through roaming or Visible CDMA network, Visible won't be working good enough. In short: the simplest way is to purchase sim from Visible for testing. With referral code (you can find a lot of those online) you can get first month for $5. Test and decide.
Wow, mobile networks in the USA are expensive! Here in the UK you can get 30GB of data with unlimited calls and SMS for £10 GBP (about $14 USD) and unlimited data for £16 (about $22 USD). This also allows mobile hotspots with no speed slow downs, WiFi calling when out of coverage and using your data and calls in Europe! You also have no contract, you just pay upfront for the 30 day plan you want and are under no obligation to continue the plan for another month. There are many cheap networks like this if you are happy to just have 4G/LTE speeds, and not pay the crazy prices to get 5G, which only has limited coverage anyway, I get at least 50-60MBit speeds on 4G and this is faster than most home internet in the UK.
That sounded good until you said how slow the home WiFi was. Most people here have 200 mb/s, I pay $75 for gigabit connection here. I guess you guys have better cellular prices and we have better WiFi.
Most cities and larger towns here in the UK get offered plans 100-500mb speeds. But rural areas are usually capped at 80mb, depending on the infrastructure. Costs vary from $25-50 USD, depending on speed and package you choose.

just bought a phone an new number from them tonight, should be here by monday. seen a lot of mixed reviews also but most the ones i seen were people having issue with bringing thier own phone or porting a number they want to keep. so i skipped all that an just got a phone an a new number straight from them. the speed thing is honestly tower related such as how far or if it is a verizion owned tower or if your trying to bounce through anothers like tmobile or att to get to verizon. cant get service if there isnt a tower near you. but on that note its a prepaid service so if i get the phone an try the service im not stuck for the next 12 months. cant really lose, seems more than worth a shot. oh congestion is also a huge factor with service, cause you are prioritied behind real verizion customers. but if you have lots of towers or are not in a zoo of a city you probably wont have to worry too much about that.

T-mobile has absolutely deplorable coverage in my region. They are a joke for anywhere but large cities. I had them a dlfew years ago and at my moms house in a town of 30,000 people I had 2g. That's absurd. It seems like Mint is the best of my options for pricing but useless for service because of T-Mobile's network.
I learned a lot, but still don't have my answer.
U probably need to go to creeket i guess is on att network
Visible is ok, I have some sketchy areas. Crappy customer service is a huge issue
On Us Mobile even if you have unlimited txt and calling but no Data you can’t send text messages on the go, only once connected on WiFi.. 🙄
The funny thing is only meant mobile and US Mobile for actually mvnos which means that their garbage visible is owned by Verizon and therefore is the only way in out of these options that I would even consider. I want to give another company money for Verizon service
Visible is just a beta test for Verizon, to see how little customer service they can get away with.
@@rockvilleraven i am surprised they need it honestly, only time i ever talk to anyone from the phone company is when i want to switch providers for some new deal of the year sale when they let you switch an save. never talk to them much anyway probably be a HUGE savings in money if they just shut down all thier call centers forever xD
@@The_Lazy_Misfit You must mean the customer retention desk.. As for me, I'm still getting a better deal than I got with U.S. Mobile.
Between Mint and US Mobile, a customer who is a low or very low usage person would be more comfortable with US Mobile. Less expensive than Mint. Even less expensive options with US Mobile if you believe that $15 per month (but paid in advance for minimum three months) is still too high. Mint still does have the advantage that you can pay for 3 or 6 or 12 months IN ADVANCE and not worry about making a monthly payment.
Does US Mobile cap you at the GB you pay for? Because I'm on Mint Mobile and even if I use up all my 4GB data, I can still continue to use data for free (just slower speeds)
@@ggasmr YES, U.S. Mobile caps your data. Their service is ok or good for low-data usage customers. But customer can buy "top-up" data which lasts for 30 days. Still a good method, but for people who usually are low-data users.
@@dallemon15 Hm I'm low usage since I'm using wifi most of the time. I just want an equivalent to Mint because I don't like paying in big chunks. There's also Visible but not every unlocked phone I've tried works with them. US mobile supports both GSM & CDMA which is awesome
@@ggasmr Not much to choose from. So few, really few, of the companies are letting subscribers buy in big time chunks. Page Plus Cellular may be an option. One of their allotment choices allows 120 day pay periods. PPC is one of the Tracfone companies, and PPC uses Verizon network.
Thanks!
Eagerly awaiting a follow up.
Visible for me! works great.
25 dollar a month visible is hard to beat if they support your phone.
Only 2 servers and high ping. No phone support, I didn't qualify for the gift card because I ported from US Mobile. They should limit that to Google Voice or Number Barn.
I use visible. It's $25 a month through party pay and I never have issues with it. A lot of people complain about speeds, dropped called, etc, and blame the carrier with it's mainly the select tower in a location that might not be the best. But in my area, visible is great. I haven't had a single issue and I'm almost into my third month. I get mainly around 50+ Mbps down all day long. I recommend it.
just bought a phone an new number from them tonight, should be here by monday. seen a lot of mixed reviews also but most the ones i seen were people having issue with bringing thier own phone or porting a number they want to keep. so i skipped all that an just got a phone an a new number straight from them. the speed thing is honestly tower related such as how far or if it is a verizion owned tower or if your trying to bounce through anothers like tmobile or att to get to verizon. cant get service if there isnt a tower near you. but on that note its a prepaid service so if i get the phone an try the service im not stuck for the next 12 months. cant really lose, seems more than worth a shot. oh congestion is also a huge factor with service, cause you are prioritied behind real verizion customers. but if you have lots of towers or are not in a zoo of a city you probably wont have to worry too much about that.
@@The_Lazy_Misfit finally, someone with some common sense. :) The people on the subreddit are belligerent and clueless about how cellular technology obviously works. Lol. Thank you, you saved me needing to explain more common sense. Lol. I hope the service is as good for you as it has been for me the past 3 months.
@@donnie4645 just seen a guy say they dont "migrate" reception over other tower providers. like they dount bounce through towers at all and are exclusivly ONLY using verizon owned towers. making more sense though. guess they dont have as good of reception as real verizion cause they do migrate/bounce through other towers not owned by verizion. anyway thought was an interesting idea.
I signed up for party pay through reddit. This plan seems to be to good to be true. But then at forty dollars it beats Verizon's post pay and cover everywhere I go .
So what happens if you have an Esim with Visible and you lose your phone? How hard is it going to be to get your account/number back?
Best is straight talk. No throttle to 480p like visible...blazing fast perfect (at&t, TMobile and Verizon. Got all the choices) but $55 unlimited with 10gb hotspot. same price as US mobile with hotspot...I switched to visible $25....sucks in some areas...only getting 0.40 Mbps. Most areas get 80+mbps.. Throttles to 480p but I use a VPN when I wanna sit and watch RUclips 1080p. Worth the hassle with visible to only pay $25 (had no service 3x in 2 months, had to restart my phone)..just got my $100 MasterCard promo from visible...so comes out to $17 a month for a year unlimited (pay per month)
Thanks for this update! 0:45 "Ok, I'm just gonna just lay out all the cards out on the table here.... my SIM cards! Hahaha!" That was really clever. Lol 0:52 "Lol I gotta be really careful putting these back down, I'll never be able to find them in the carpet." You goofball lol.
He talks about is the rate plans who watches the stuff
i like the once year a deal
So where’s the recommendation?? What did you end up picking?? Waste of time.
I tried mint , said I had good coverage in my area. I didn't, i had none..Mints customer service was good and refunded my money right away but it was such a hassle after importing my number then have to import again to another carrier. Might try US Mobile.
I have that just figure out if Verizon or T mobile is better where you are at.
update?
Have yu looked at Metro by T-Mobile
Mint is a better T Mobile alternative, but you have to buy it in 3 month term in bulk.
I like mint mobile
some gadget guy!!!
Tello mobile.
Thank you very much man!!!
Mint Mobile ✨
Visible is the best overall
