I couldn't remove my old starter of my EX35, so I just changed the solenoid and motor, the box always stayed inside. A lot of work and patience but it worked.
I had to do this job last week and searched on youtube, found this useless video and saw your comment, I just uploaded a video on how to remove and install a new starter on the EX35 a minute ago just by removing the front lower cover and a few cables out of the way, check it out if you want.

For 2008 infinity EX35 had to lower frame. Unfortunately I don't have a detail video
