Hi Simon….. the brilliant thing about my classic Range Rover Suffix A is that it’s only 1800mm high….. I’m also 1800 mm high…… So anywhere I can go so can my classic Range Rover!!! Keeping things simple!!!! Regards Ian 👨🎤🇳🇿👍🍸🍸
Rack adds +53mm to all heights. Measured myself. GAP tool is great. Can drop down to bump stops as needed. Very useful for my garage with ski rack and skis. On demand e-lift for trail obstacles is great too.
Just got my new 90. On coils. Old skool. 1.97m in the handbook and on the Pivi Pro screen. Ordered a load of bits from some dodgy shop called PowerfulUK for it too 😂😂😂😂
Congrats.... Hopefully you purchased enough from the aforementioned store that you are now a good 2cm lower ! Did you know that the parts catalogue lists different springs with different stiffness ? i think there are 4 types of spring available...
I have clipped 2m carpark clearance bars with expedition rack in access height. I am on 20 inch and I think likely tyre inflation amount comes into play too
The wheel / tyres dont seem to make much difference Using this website tiresize.com/tyre-size-calculator/ I entered 22 tyre info and DIAMETER is 815mm ( radius will be half this = 407.5 mm ) I entered 20 tyre info and DIAMETER is 810mm ( radius will be half this = 405 mm ) The difference in radius ( hide height ) will only be 2.5 mm
I just picked up the wife a 2022 110 SE with the expedition rack and ... we haven't actually figured out if it will fit in the garage yet. The door height is just under 80" tall which makes me think its gonna be pretty tight.
Hello Simon…I made a return visit to IKEA this week…last time was 2017!….their roof access height bar is set at 1.9 m….i was in the Puma but did wonder how the L494 would fit. In 2031 I doubt either the car or I will be here to find out! 😱😃😃😃😃 Richard. ( I hope you wiped the pen off the door only some can stay on there as a shadow for years! )😱
@@L663Yes Hilary loves the ideas and low prices but Bristol feels dangerous with all those caravans outside! It s much nice in Southampton or Cardiff but the fumes of the meat balls did get to us a bit this time! We needed 6 picture frames…at £5 each, they are perfect and compared to £27 each at the art shop, a bargain and look identical! 🙂😃😃😃
Not sure about your defender but all the different height dimensions (and width etc) are in the menu and shown clearly on the screen 🤔 Obviously without the roof rack 👍
This is interesting, I live in China and have a daily battle with access height because of the underground parking. I changed my wheels and tyres from 285/45/22 to 275/55/20 and calculated that it reduced the height by 2.5cm but then added the expedition roof rack so based on your calculations I am only 2.5cm higher than I was before changing the wheels and tyres. Can you tell us the tyres sizes on both the 90 and the Stig?
Hi Steve - I am going to question your calculations here..... @@L663 You are absolutely right it should be in mm, but my calculated diameters were 812.5mm and 810mm so the same 2.5mm reduction. In my defence It was 6am here when I wrote the initial comment! 😂
Above and beyond as usual Simon. I was rather hoping you'd do the same exercise with the crossbars. I think they add 3cm but if you'd like to do a Part 2... 🤔

Simon i was expecting you to measure the extended mode too 😁 great video as always.
Looks great in that green Simon!
Lovely job lads 👍👍👍👏👏👏

Awesome. Begs the question of how accurate the height restriction bars in car parks always are

Close but should be ok as this is 203cm
There’s a new accessory from China where it lowers the OEM roof rack by a couple cm. Quite useful.
I guess these are reduced height pillars - any idea where these are available from ? Simon

IKEA Bristol - love the shop but hate the car park ! had an incident in there once - and it was my fault !

Hi Simon , Have you programmed the car to tell it it’s now fitted with a roof rack ?
anz idea how it looks like if you go max or minimum via the GAP IID Tool ?
Extended off road height?

Wanted to be sure with the roof rack added ! I am working on a new plan.... and we have limited access to the building !

Where are you in China? I’m in shanghai and having the same issue as you 😅. I went plumb roof rack for the low profile under the shark fin antenna.
