We could make budget cuts on military spending just by ceasing our overseas donations to Ukraine when we know they’re inevitably going to lose the war against Russia. It’s only a matter of time before our military has to get involved on a firsthand basis. We’re better off using the billions spent in Ukraine to fund our own homeland defenses and to stabilize our economy considering how crucial our market is to our ability to thrive.

I think those are a little fancier than they need to be. I like the 8 x 8 shelters that cost probably 1/10 of that myself. That way you could spend more money on more shelters rather than doing fancy little houses.
I am trying not to be cynical about this whole "issue" But to me, IMO, all this does is encourage young adults to run away/head to California. Maybe if young adults In school and worked with caseworkers and didn't do drugs they wouldn't find themselves on the streets. Most young adults have roommates all through college and well into their 20s so this is quite posh. Throw in free WiFi, laptop, furnishings et cetera.. Why not plan for an entire life on the dole.

This is a pretty expensive way to do it, but if the people actually do transition out on their own, then that’s fine. I like the fact they’re giving them a deadline. They should also make it a requirement that they participate in the services. And if they don’t make progress, kick them out and give it to somebody who will work for themselves and try to improve themselves.
