In the early 70s while earning my first aid merit badge my kit contained the ability to help someone with a compound fracture or someone who was severely burned. I think I had a space type blanket for someone in shock. Gauze, Merthiolate, bandaids. As a kid I thought I had it all covered. lol
I think the space blanket is all you really need. Just wrap it real tight around the fracture and it will keep it from bleeding, splint it and keep it warm all at the same time. And you can use it to reflect the light off the Sun to signal where you are. ☀️🌞
