People are always focusing on fidelity when it comes to graphics, but what’s even more important is art direction, and that’s much, much better in Planet Coaster 2. Lighting plays a big part in this, but also stuff like the color palette, which is far more welcoming and easy on the eyes in PlanCo 2. Frontier did a great job, imo.
Yes! I've always said this! We have reached such a milestone when it comes to fidelity in gaming that art direction is what takes priority for the most part. Lighting, color saturation, etc. Goes such a long way to make a game look better!

I don't get why they didn't port ALL of PC1 over and build onto it. You should be able to import old coasters from PC1, all the workshop scenery should be useable, everything from previous game should be in this plus all the new features. I don't get developers sometimes.
B&M now make a family inverted that is 2 abreast. The original game having that for extreme designs was actually unrealistic as it doesn't exist in the real world, so I am not sure where you got that it's "such a common coaster" from. There are 6 B&M family inverts in the entire world, none have inversions and 3 of those are under construction. Hardly common. What they have done removing that is sensible IMO. Now Intamin OTOH, it should be 2 abreast for the invert. Haven't checked the game yet but very interested. PS are you sure they don't offer the 2 seat width model in family style?
Sorry, way too dramatic opinion. It doesn't seem that different or better, only more colorful and vibrant. The lighting didn't seem "improved" as you were ranting about. At least in the video I actually think the lighting was better on the right one. The light is different but the quality felt the same overall in the end.
Check my latest video. This one really wasn´t helpful it seems. The graphics are undeniable much much better. The step is even bigger as the one to planet zoo. Unfortunately the coaster cam doesn´t help.
You should have labelled which video was which. In all honesty the fact that the improvements graphically are minimal and they reuse so many assets makes me feel this isn’t a new game. It’s more like a large update or DLC with swimming pools. Frontier just can’t release decent games it seems after seeing what they did with Elite
06:47 Thats why I refunded. They had the chance to make it so much easier and better - but not. I did not have fun messing around with all the controls just to make simple things. The GUI is horror.
Yall europeans seem so used to theme parks being in cloudy weather with cold/mild lighting. I think the default warmth of the lighting is very accurate to sunnier parks you would find in the US
Exactly! That's what I thought as well and honestly, I like the pc1 graphics better during the entire video. It might be just me but I just can't like the new graphics more.
I'm a big fan of Planet Coaster 1, but immediately refunded Planet coaster 2 mainly because of the UI. I play on a 34 inch 3440x1440 21:9 display and the PC UI looks clumsy and bloated. Is this a case of me not giving it a chance?

@@joostvanweerden5143the textures and geometry. Have been upgraded alot
B & M 2 seat inverts arent very common actually i dont think (not in the us atleast, could be geograpphical) you might be thinking of the vecoma SLCs. Actually, im not sure if b & m ever actually made a 2 seat invert? Correct me if im wrong enthusiasts 😅
I'm struggling so hard with building... Planet Coasters controls are baked into my soul and I can't revert
Sameee
10:58 RC1 looks better but I am so tired with the optimization issues and pathing that I will trade it for PC2.
I looked again and to be honest, it really is the cool colour that makes it better. At least we can make some tweaks on our monitors. But at the end of the day, they just need to add filters to choose from like in CS, even in COD it exists.
seeing the fps difference i dont like that one bit
what do you mean?
@@RudiRennkamel the fps difference between planet coaster 1 and 2 i mean havent played myself anyways that was my biggest concern with planco 1 the optimization how is it in planco 2?
Planco 2 is Scrap... i feel it when having a coaster on testing, bit laggy. Wirh 3.4 GH and nvidia rtx 3050 bru.. i know its not knew stuff on my PC but i go back to planco 1
I don't get why they didn't port ALL of PC1 over and build onto it. You should be able to import old coasters from PC1, all the workshop scenery should be useable, everything from previous game should be in this plus all the new features. I don't get developers sometimes.
Why do I like the first PC much better?
B&M now make a family inverted that is 2 abreast. The original game having that for extreme designs was actually unrealistic as it doesn't exist in the real world, so I am not sure where you got that it's "such a common coaster" from. There are 6 B&M family inverts in the entire world, none have inversions and 3 of those are under construction. Hardly common. What they have done removing that is sensible IMO. Now Intamin OTOH, it should be 2 abreast for the invert. Haven't checked the game yet but very interested.
PS are you sure they don't offer the 2 seat width model in family style?
I was wrong. It's both the 2 seater. And I meant it all the time. I was just confused hahaha
Waiting for the download of PC2 to start :) only few hours to go.
The sound of PC2 is even less realistic....
It's like they forgot to add the sound because it's barely there.
First game looks caveman like ........lol!!!!
We're the Flintstone, yeba, daba, doo timeeeeeeee!!!!!
i am sorry the coaster POV are tyou sure PC1 isnt on the left? the one on the right looks significantly better
For the algorithm
Looks exactly the same as planet coaster 1
06:47 Thats why I refunded. They had the chance to make it so much easier and better - but not. I did not have fun messing around with all the controls just to make simple things. The GUI is horror.
9 hrs to goo
Planet coaster ran terribly on 4k. Does Planet coaster 2 run well on 4k?
Yall europeans seem so used to theme parks being in cloudy weather with cold/mild lighting. I think the default warmth of the lighting is very accurate to sunnier parks you would find in the US
Finally, a sane voice of reason.
yeez, it is a improvement in some areas, but a downgrade in others. I rather stick to planet coaster 1.
is just me or does PC1 looks better at 13:19 ???
Exactly! That's what I thought as well and honestly, I like the pc1 graphics better during the entire video. It might be just me but I just can't like the new graphics more.
I don’t like how you speeded everything up
It's called speedbuild and that's what we do here 😅 the POVs weren't sped up tho!
wusste garnicht dass du deutsch bist
I'm a big fan of Planet Coaster 1, but immediately refunded Planet coaster 2 mainly because of the UI. I play on a 34 inch 3440x1440 21:9 display and the PC UI looks clumsy and bloated. Is this a case of me not giving it a chance?
Ganz ehrlich mir gefällt Planco 1 besser. --- To be honest, I like Planco 1 much better.
Its not warmth its the saturation what you mean when you talk about the colours.
no i actually mean the warmth. its not only saturation. Saturation is also an issue indeed, but not as much as the warmth "filter"
@RudiRennkamel ok i see the way to saturared colours that make it feel like a disney, fable or comic game. I dont know. I think i waited for a true planet coaster 2 not just 1.5 so im a little disappointed with everything and i really dont care for the water stuff...
Cheers from Poland. First
Not sure about the sound design of planco 2
second
wtf are these coasters
they´re just showcase. quickly build.
