I've had SO many people recently ask me why my business has the word "Gallery" in it, when I'm completely online. AND how I found my own refinishing style. And the truth is- I wasn't always an online only business! I used to have a brick and mortar shop. I also started my business in a dark and dingy basement, and throughout the last few years worked my tail off to try to learn how to do things better, and my personal style slowly evolved over time.
I want this video to be inspiring for people just starting out, who might feel strange working in a basement, or apartment, or a shed. There is NO SHAME in any of that! I only have the workroom I have today through a series of events beyond my control, and a TON of hard work. Keep going! You'll find your own style and presences over time. For example- most of what I did in the early stages was painted, and a lot of it farmhouse/distressed. Now, I do MOSTLY mid century, and a lot of it is restoration or paint/wood combinations. BE GENTLE, hahaha, some of these are a bit.. hmm... maybe not my best work, but I was learning. We all are learning. KEEP LEARNING! ❤️

I knew you were the best furniture saver on RUclips, but didn’t know how talented you are. You have evolved in a relatively short period of time. Your esthetic is really beautiful. What a fun video! It was really nice to learn of the history of your career and to see the evolution of your style. I think you sell yourself short with regards to staging; it is clear that you have a good eye for composition and even your earlier photos look really good to me. My favorites have to be the bunny photos; I would love it if you used more "bunny models" in future staging photos! I love your work and am always happy to see a video from you.

Angie, I loved this video!! This is so wonderful to see. The progression of your spaces and your furniture work is simply amazing! You are one of my absolute favorite You tubers!! I aspire to become as good as you are but living with horrible chronic back pain stops me often from starting and finishing a piece. It's very slow going but I have all I need to do this on a regular basis and I will, it just won't happen the way it does for so many people who don't have this condition. I can't wait until I can create the Black paint/wood pieces like you and others create, they are absolutely my number 1 favorite! And it bums me out that used furniture has gone up significantly and that has put a real damper in my desire to do this. I love your channel and your work so much, so thank you for ever starting a You Tube channel! Continued success, Angie

Thanks for the walk through of your own memory lane, and the evolution of your skills and style. You already had a lot of that style showing up in many of your tattoo shop/storefront pieces, and in your presentation skills and methods then. Fine work, and a lot of it really hard physical labor. You and mid-century modern make a lot of sense together 😎
Also, happy to see that the hurricane didn't get to you directly, but sorry for those who did get hit more directly. Where I live, we get a lot of indirect effects of the Gulf of Mexico hurricanes - severe thunderstorms and tornadoes. Once, several years ago a Cat 1 hurricane marched up US 331 from Florida, and we live 3 hours away from the coast - not fun.
Again, keep the great work, Angie 👍

Really enjoyed this Angie. So interesting to hear your back story. You are truly inspirational. Overcoming adversity and sometimes things happen that are sad but lead to alot of happiness 😊 I love the beautiful home and work spaces you and Andrea have created and I love Nacho & the bunnies. I used to keep rabbits ( one of our house rabbits was called Binky ) but after losing over 20 during a 10 year period( mainly rescues but some babies i had almost 10yrs ) I couldn't take it again 😢 but i miss them so much. They are fantastic characters , all different personalities. I am so happy that you are helping our furry friends. Thanks for sharing 💚

Lovely retrospective! I'm much more a fan of MCM lines and wood grain, but some of the painted pieces are a fantastic way to rehab wood surfaces that can't otherwise be saved. I hope you're safe and dry and still in your home. I even added Nova Scotia to my list of cities on The Weather Channel that I check every day - includes my family and good friends. You are a kind person to incorporate Bunny Rescue into your work. Many thanks from Oklahoma.

Oh, my goodness, those canisters at 2:48 ... I still have my complete set that I bought new in the ... very late 1970s/very early 1980s? Can't remember exactly. You could also get the hot-dish pads with the same paint-on-metal design in varying sizes which you could hang on the wall. I still have a few of those pads on my walls. The sun fades them tremendously, so I keep my canisters in the cupboards and the pads on walls that do not face a window. I wish I'd known about your shop years ago. I only ever get to the valley for funerals these days; but it's a beautiful area and my mother's people are from there. It's lovely to see how you started - the variety! This is a wonderful video. :)

Love your antiques you redid. I have a warehouse space I’ve been renting for a year full of mid century pieces. Since those don’t sell here in Montreal anymore, I’m going to sell them all off to empty that space. I’m concentrating on only antiques now because they sell so well on Etsy. You are right about everyone finding their own style with time. I’m also slowly transitioning back to milk paint for the more ornate pieces. I love what I do now and feel so lucky every day when I enter my studio to work. I love watching your videos. I hope the storm this weekend didn’t do too much damage.

Angie, girl you have come a long way in your style evolution. I love what you do to wood. It's always so warm and welcoming. I especially loved the distressed lite aqua dresser. I know it isn't MCM, but I love the old stuff too.
    And the bunnies!💖
