Changed the title guys, it's just a play by play, sorry for any confusion. Pushing a map entirely in overtime is no small feat and many players _don't_ exploit the mistakes the defense made (or make those defensive mistakes themselves) so I do stand by this video being valuable. As for "map guides" I'm not sure those are even possible, as the comp matters more than the map almost every time, not to mention the map really _aren't_ different as I've argued before... Nothing about the map architecture would have made this push work, nor would've stopped us, it's about proper full-teamfights, just like every map really. "Map strats" often come down to abusing the spawn system, eg some pro teams hold @ the spawn of Dorodo because if they wipe they'll be back in time to contest the checkpoint, (although that's a risky strategy), but really, understanding teamfights >>> "map breakdowns." Anyway, simply didn't really know what to title this, but taking your feedback, we've changed it. -F
I'm pretty sure the video was an explanation of why that particular comp didn't work. Also, it was the team of another RUclipsr on here. The link to the original video is in the description of Worst Team Comp Ever iirc.
TheNauran Yeah, that video was talking about someone else's team and their comp. Not Freedo. Geez, you sounded pissed off when you were thinking it was Freedo.
Time bank is a bit wonky of a game mode, if you can keep momentum you potentially can finish the entire map. This video breaks down how to do so, but also highlighting the mistakes of the defense that let it happen. Let us know what you think and be sure to drop a Like & Subscribe if you enjoyed!
Thanks for the video. The play by plays on the enemy and ally mercy rez helped my mercy game tremendously. I used to be very hesitant about a 2 man rez thinking that it would be a waste of potential but this video made me rethink that, and look for more quality in my rezes than quantity. Tonight I pulled off a pair of two man rezes that lead to a similar situation on dorado and allowed use to push an extra cap and a half durring overtime.
This is great content. There are only so many character guide videos you guys can make. This play-by-play not only gives an interesting Map strat, but it gives a great commentary on the flow of the battlefield that helps viewers build gamesense. Definitely keep up the play-by-plays.
Man often times I feel like I am the only one on my team who actually goes back when I see I am alone vs 4+ enemy players. Most players either charge in 1 by 1 and die almost instantly or stand on a corner next to entire enemy team to get ganked.
Great video! I really wish there were more channels doing videos like this. If anyone know of any, please let me know. It would be awesome if you guys at Your Overwatch could do a more standard play through of each map while discussing your approach to the map, how you take and hold various positions. I hope it would encourage other channels to start doing the same.
Can you do a video on people waiting to ult before switching? I'd like to know what you think because I get really annoyed when they stay that hero and get countered every fight and never switch with that same excuse
60 seconds for the attacking team to go the distance... maybe choose Bastion to camp and pick a few of them off before they realize they need to counter him... Bastion is usually a terrible choice... unless the opposing team has very little time to attack. You pick off a couple players before they realize you have a Bastion, they lose.
Agreed, they could have done better by using a Winston or even a Dva over Reinhardt after the (enemy) Mercy rez and subsequent wipe. Getting that Winston or Dva ult all but guarantees an abrupt end to OT, which is really what you want once you concede the second checkpoint.
They were running a genji tho so bastion probably wouldn't have worked here. Not that bastion can never work. NRG had Seagull play him in a tournament once and they successfully defended so anything is possible haha
Nick Dasher Just because they have a Genji, doesn't mean Bastion isn't useful against him. All it takes is for the Bastion player to be quick enough to stop shooting at Genji while he's deflecting...
5:33 Please do that. It is so frustrating to wait close to the spawn, see a teammate or three run past you, say "Group Up" and read their names in the kill feed two seconds later, because the whole enemy team did not magically stop at that sacred choke and just blew them to pieces. Also, it is super annoying to have teammates who do not understand how the respawn/team fight dynamic works and who refuse to push past a certain choke to kill the enemy team 6v3 after a successful team fight or a few lucky picks.
I'll help you guys out. These are console and PC tips. Console Defense: team comp: Pharah, Winston, Reinhardt, S76, Mercy ( imo she is better than Zen), and Lucio. Pharah sits up top and spams rockets, Mercy heals key allies, simple Lucio strategies, Winston clears their back line, S76 is a key damage dealer and clears their front line, and Rein shields the team. Console attack: Winston, Junkrat, S76, Rein, Mercy, Lucio. Junkrat is the new guy in this comp, so I'll go over him first. He spams grenades, and will knock off the enemy heroes that require lots of aim, but offer large value ( McCree, Hanzo, Ana, etc.) this is so they can't get the value easily. He helps Winston take out the back line and lays traps down behind his team to get rid of flankers.Winston does the same thing, So does Rein, Lucio, S76 and Mercy. PC tips: I would recommend watching tournaments ( I play OW on console, so I don't want to get anything wrong and trigger the PC players. Winston, Rein, Zarya, Ana, Lucio, and Zen is a great, damage dealing team. Also, what skin should I get for S76? I have 820 currency rn and I'm thinking about saving up for Night Ops 76 because I love how it looks. I am a Soldier main. I do switch off DPS if we need a healer or tank.
Getting lucky enough to win an attacking match in which you have to play the entire round in Overtime is nearly impossible. If the defending team had a better team comp for a 60 second attack on Numbani, the attackers don't cap that first point in the first place.
If you watched the video and got the message Fredo was trying to give you would know that this was no map specific guide. More like "how to abuse a team that is not grouping up enough in order to stop a snowball" No hate for your comment btw ;)
There are some matches where a single kill is 10x more impactful than a quad but the quad will get play. So go teach the computer to be subjective about it
I've always thought that for the ten seconds after a res, any kills made by the team members Mercy ressed should count as assists and that each player ressed should be weighted significantly less and the assists significantly more. I've been in a situation where a Mercy did a single res, but that res was a Reaper in the middle of a close quarters team fight with ult in overtime. I still feel that res was PotM.
Just because in the end the enemy team still died doesnt mean the res was pointless. It gave the team a second chance, even though they were badly positioned.
something very similar happened to me once. i was on a very close comp match (ended in 10-9 i think) and one of those rounds involved me attacking at genji, on numbani as well. capped the point and escorted it all the way to the end, all in overtime. the only problem? the enemy team did the exact same thing before
great video and win guys! just a clarification... i couldn't find it mentioned on the internet, but it looks like your checkpoint did not award you extra time. so would it be correct in thinking that it would only award you the amount of time sans amount of time taken up by overtime (for all match types)? or is there a special rule in competitive regarding this? thanks!
Does the payload's movement or point capture speed up the more people are on it like they do in TF2? There every person (up to 3) on the point caps it faster and it pushes the payload faster as well
What do you suggest for a group that just won't group up? Even in teams I've had that are premade, and I tell people to stop trickling in, or going in with half the group, they still do. I'm normally Ana on these matches so I have a clear picture of what's happening. I ask, but it's almost like people don't understand what they are doing. Eventually I get frustrated and my performance suffers.
Step 1: record footage of your team wrecking a clearly bad and unorganized team Step 2: pretend all your actions were purely intentional next level strats and the reason you won Step 3: profit
I think all these plays were possible just because mistakes were exploited but also because of the enemy team comp, if you're on defense battling in overtime you need a staller like Mei or any other hero with an area denial ult like dva, hanzo or Winston
Unless someone joins soon, you will likely lose a 5v6 scenario. I don't think I have any tips other than pray that the enemy sucks... On a somewhat related note, I was solo-queuing in quick play earlier today, and it said I joined a game, except I didn't join a game, I joined a defeat screen. It didn't even take me to the hero select screen it's just like "oh, hey, we found a game for you after you were searching for 5 minutes... Jk, we found a defeat screen. You just got trolled lol ;)" Funny thing is, I actually leveled up and earned a loot box from that... No joke :)
the video is good, but the title is so misleading. you are analysing your gameplay and you're saying how not to defend. there is nothing taking about how to dominate on attack
I think there's a huge exploit on this map with the last spawn point on attack I was playing today and defense used there ults. Then ran down to the bottom of the ramp didn't kill anyone just did damage then when we got close to the payload they used there ults before we even got ours like idk how u can't kill anyone and get 2 ults before we get one
freedom do you have any advice for heros to play after ptr changes go through? I was playing zarya but she got a pretty large nerf, so im confused on what I should play after, any help is appreciated, thanks
Sad D. They made every mistake possible. I bet they were in full tilt mode the whole time. I wouldn't have done that mercy Rez either. Outside the attacker spawn is fucking dumb and cost D the rest of the leg.
So wait you dived their backline but you werent running a Winston so it didn't seem like a dive comp...but you as zarya were nowhere near the rein so it didn't feel like a deathball. So wait tf am I special or is this a special case
U don't have to have Certain hero's for certain comp, some hero's are better. But it's not a necessity to have Winston. U can dive with rein. Just sheild him when her charges in as zarya.
I wouldn't get hung up on definitions of comps. If a comp is weighted in a such a way where it mainly does _one_ thing, then maybe we'd call it "Dive" or "Deathball" but the comp here is simply a balanced one. Effective comps occur moreso when your comp beats theirs, not just when your comp has maximum synergy making it so all the heroes play together. They ran a slow comp _and_ played it without the necessary discipline (constantly peeking/contacting before grouping properly), however if they had a Winston, he'd be able to enforce the harass on the healers almost single-handedly, but they didn't and they paid the price. -F
omg, don't just get a good push in overtime and then sell it to your viewers as "HOW 2 REK NUMBANI" First of all any game of decent caliber doesn't even GO into overtime at this phase, and there is no REAL information here. You just annotate how you stomped an uncoordinated team during overtime on a map where that is very possible. This kinda shit is WAAY harder to do on R:66, and King's Roe.
But that's not how they "sold" it. The title clearly states what it was, albeit in fairly grandiloquent terms. If you misinterpret what "play by play" or "dominant" means, then that's on you. They even threw in a couple of useful tips for -less experienced- brand new players.
The title made the video seem like it was going to be a tutorial... "How to" It would appear as though they changed the title now. They probably realized.
TheRealSkyrox _YT Not to be rude, but as a player who used to be low Gold and now is mid plat playing with diamond players, theres a huge difference between these ranks. The core mechanics of the gameplay in these ranks is so different that i doubt you could play with ppl double your rank.
How to dominate on Numbani attack: Rely on the enemy team being a bunch of idiots
Nope Yep PREEEEEEESICELY
christ this is the worst zarya plays ive seen, im just exaggerating but him not using primary fire well triggers me so much
I play Reaper, because I know I can Reaposition on the left side and sneak around, killing a healer and obligatory bastion.
Changed the title guys, it's just a play by play, sorry for any confusion. Well, at least this video is better than you uploading a video of you being salty and complaining about your team.
+TheNauran When did he do that?
bigbluemoonshark
A week ago, I think. The video with the title "Worst Team Comp Ever" or something like that.
Edit: Oh. Okay.
I'm pretty sure the video was an explanation of why that particular comp didn't work. Also, it was the team of another RUclipsr on here. The link to the original video is in the description of Worst Team Comp Ever iirc.

BANANA SLAYER already a video about that

We should force every overwatch player to watch a fight scene in an action movie so that they know what not to do.

Kai Leyva so do I, I also really like the gold gun with it.

RestlessLama Yeah i typed before i read, in my defence the title is a little misleading
Indeed its a little misleading.
"Grouping up doesn't meaning going out to the choke with half your team"
the most annoying thing is someone spawning, running out by themselves and then spamming to group up, when most of the team is just spawning.
All the people who don't group up and cover need to watch this channel.
Funny how Mercy got POTM for a rez that did not help at all. I don't mean that thr rez itself was bad but it's a fact that they got wrecked anyways
unless you can explain a computer how to be subjective, this will never change. (or create an advanced AI)
There are some matches where a single kill is 10x more impactful than a quad but the quad will get play. So go teach the computer to be subjective about it

i think we all know by now that POTGs are not necesarrily representative of the player's effectiveness
Everyone needs to watch this

Should sub-title these "Play by play".
I was half-expecting a specific tutorial lol.
We didnt intend for it to be misleading and have now changed it :) -W
and we will do tutorials in the future :)
sik
Oh no it wasn't bad or anything. Still enjoyed and learned from the video so works out either way.
Thanks guys!
More like this please
i really wished more ppl in the lower ranks would understand that "group up" means to get your ass back....
thks for video breakdown
really helpful
The tank burden video please. I'm a Tank player (D. Va). I want to know more other than being in the frontline taking damage for the team
great video and win guys! just a clarification... i couldn't find it mentioned on the internet, but it looks like your checkpoint did not award you extra time. so would it be correct in thinking that it would only award you the amount of time sans amount of time taken up by overtime (for all match types)? or is there a special rule in competitive regarding this? thanks!
video idea: when to rez
do more of this
Who else came for the oddly specific title?
Does the payload's movement or point capture speed up the more people are on it like they do in TF2? There every person (up to 3) on the point caps it faster and it pushes the payload faster as well
I'm loving that play of the game

Wow freedo a post by you!
I'm surprised because eddy has been carrying this channel
Tapmig I love eddy the champ
Thanks, love it!
I think "fall back" is thr number one thing I am yelling at my teammates in this game. everyone thinks they can solo a six stack.
Step 1: record footage of your team wrecking a clearly bad and unorganized team
Step 2: pretend all your actions were purely intentional next level strats and the reason you won
Step 3: profit
DallasGreen123 The enemy team had 3 supports at the end.

any tips for matches on defense when you get that one teammate that leaves the game?

Why is the Temple Rez called the Temple Rez?
the video is good, but the title is so misleading. you are analysing your gameplay and you're saying how not to defend. there is nothing taking about how to dominate on attack

wow! quick change! thx

Me and my friends did this exact thing on this map but in a trio queue
I had a similar game where I was Mercy before her ultimate % nerf.
Woah, dat POTG.
I try to get everyone to group up at spawn but NO ONE EVER LISTENS.
shoulda been called, "when defense doesn't protect the healers"
damn that was a good play
when you said "guarantee" 0:50 you sounded really southern for some reason
freedom do you have any advice for heros to play after ptr changes go through? I was playing zarya but she got a pretty large nerf, so im confused on what I should play after, any help is appreciated, thanks
zarya is still a good tank jsut her damage is lower
AKA Don't let them Divide & Conquer
played a match on this map like that. both teams had 1 min and pushed it all the way to the end in 100% overtime lol
was it a draw ?
That was amazing
Please do a Mccree guide
Bryce Skow they already did
Sad D. They made every mistake possible. I bet they were in full tilt mode the whole time.
I wouldn't have done that mercy Rez either. Outside the attacker spawn is fucking dumb and cost D the rest of the leg.
lol these enemies must have been SO salty
damn this is wild honeslty
I prefer weagal over xfreedo for youtube videos.
Anyone else ?
If you were attacking against 3 dps (one of them a widow) anything should work, lol.
Had a little WTF moment because I thought I saw my gamer tag but then I realized I don't play on PC and ive had this game for two weeks
I miss the old intro music.
Kids will watch this and still do the opposite when they play ranks
Literally this
the problem is that the defence characters don't have good mobility
ayy lmao bastion moving faster than tracer
Toqsick lmao
but if you know how to use junkrat which isn't hard he is kinda fast i guess and depending on the map hanzo/widowmaker can take shortcuts
freedo sounded so sad this time...
marsh best mod
Tis is very specific
This*
It's a Play-by-play

Your Overwatch Cheers XD
This sounds like a guide in the title but just a talk through of your play wasn't very helpful in total for other players maybe self evaluation tho
this... is a problem
So you get carried by a Genji?

Hi
how to clickb8 the thumbnail
I did watch the whole vid tho. lol
How is that clickbait???
its a nice Genji lolol. How clickbait?
The title made the video seem like it was going to be a tutorial... "How to"
It would appear as though they changed the title now. They probably realized.
I'm so naughty
Anyone here actually use their Discord server?? Any luck finding a pleasant, competitive team? Any bad experiences?
For playing on pc you have some wack aim lol great vid btw
I'm looking for overwatch partner

No you cant work with a 3000skill lvl, if your at 1500 you are bad.
Anybody wanna make a team on xbox one i want people who watch these videos and want to play right
LUL XD
Misleading title.. :(
It was no Map specific guide.
We didnt intend for it to be misleading and have now changed it :) -W
The title was 'how to dominate Numbani' So I thought it was a Numbani guide..
Thanks :)
Why do i feel like all you're videos are turning into common sense videos..
