One of the most underrated aspects of her play is her motor. Anyone who plays understands how long passes or shots saps your energy. Add to that her running the floor every play. To be able to sustain that in the 4th quarter is really impressive. Add to that the fact that her minutes are the most on the team. It is hard for the Fever to take her out. And this season she went straight from the college season to the pro season. That girl has killer energy. Her second season with rest and practice. MVP.

Clark is going to make the entire league better. She will get better as she goes on, but it won't be in a vacuum. Everyone will have to improve along with her.

She's been playing basketball since she was very young. She started out playing with the young boys because there was no girl team her age. She was the lead scorer at every level including against the boys. She's a point guard/quarterback because of those long passes. Clark and Mitchell are the best backcourt in the WNBA. Both are lightning fast.

@@LA_Baldux Your statement isn't very enlightened. Clark IS on a good team, but also the youngest or second youngest team in the league. At the end of the season, the starting five were two forwards in their third year, a center in her second year, a rookie point guard running the entire offense, and being coached by someone in their second year as a head coach ever. Add to all that, the hardest strength of schedule in the league to start the season (NY, Con, and LV twice each.) Still, the team managed to have three All-Stars in Clark, Boston, and Mitchell, Clark wins Rookie of the Year while setting hella of records, won more games this season than in the previous four seasons combined, and made the playoffs for the first time in 8 years. But yeah, just think if she was on a good team.

MVP is always about what happens inside the four lines of the court. If not for the league record turnovers, I believe she would have been MVP. I think they got it right awarding it to Aja Wilson. HOWEVER, If they want to create a new award, and call the MIP, aka, Most Important Player, it's no contest. Clark's importance to the league is unparalleled.

    • @ericMT

@@ranhill62 good way to put it. Unfortunately there is a MIP most improved player award and this year it went to Caitlin’s rival and girlfriend of her teammate - Dijonai Carrington. Most improved at clawing players eyes out if you ask me.

I feel that the reason why CC is able to do so much on the court with her team is basically because almost every other team is in favor of playing old man speed of basketball!! CC learned how to read the floor by watching games with Bird and MJ and Magic, and sharpened that skill playing in high school and college!! She is a true generational talent in Women's Basketball and once she retires, She will truly be missed

I grew up just outside Iowa City, long time Hawk fan. When CC committed 5 years ago, I posted that this was gonna be pretty big. What I didn't predict is that she'd become one of the best college players of all time. I also predicted she would have a good rookie season. What I didn't predict is for her to have maybe the best rookie season in the hx of the W. So, when I think she might have an even better season next year, I wonder: Am I going to sell her short again? When will I learn?

#HOG in the house. The problem with Caitlin and her range, along with her passing ability, is do you chase her to the logo, which she has quickness and knows angles. So she will do a fake move just to get you slightly off balance and zips past you. And other treams were blitzing her with double teams, but she now knows what to expect that should always leave another player open. The incompetance of Sides is demonstrated in that they needed to implement a full motion offense when in half court, with good picks and screens, and with constant back doors and dives to the basket. With Caitlin's passing abiity, it could have been maximized and open up the court to where you are reallyin a difficult position defensively. Single coverage or risk double teams.

There’s a tremendous disconnect in the milieu where Ms. Clark plays, between the game of basketball and the various aspects of the “culture wars” that have expanded in society, with sports being no exception. There’s so much yakking (fostered and exacerbated by the media, of course) about racism, gay issues, sexism- particularly in the area of compensation, like somehow the WNBA is making the money to pay the same as the NBA. Clark doesn’t play soap opera games or cater to the media, she plays basketball at the highest level. And she has an excellent rapport with the fans and wins an ‘A’ for her conduct before the camera.

Hi guy's - I just subscribed. I appreciate your coverage on CC. Im a new basketball fan. I never watched even 1 minute of the game until 2024. Stephanie White is a great fit as a coach for the Fever team. They are building a team around CC and the great players who are already on the Fever team. Replacing Nalyssa Smith with a good free agent like Sabally would really put Fever as the #1 team for 2025. I see the Fever team winning the 2025 championship. Im glad Fever management didn't drop the ball on this very unique opportunity they have. A great coach had to be found to replace Sides with if they were serious about future championship wins. The hardest part is waiting till next year to watch the new team emerge after practicing all winter. Unfortunately, they will also be battling crooked referees besides battling other teams.
