What I absolutely love about the dude is that he knows his own strenghts and plays accordingly to that. He doesn't try to force things, he doesnt go for own succes. Its realy a joy to see him play. Kudo's to you Yuki
Doesn’t he force things, though. He’s a passing phenom, no doubt, but he heaves up 14 shots per game (second on the team) while only making 34% of them, and only 19% on 6 threes per game. He’s the sixth highest scorer in the team despite taking the second most shots. He gets those sweet dimes, but he’s a net negative when he shoots
Yuki keeps all his teammates alert on their toes, because they all know that he's going to pass the ball to one of them at any given time if their is an opening. Especially if he's having a difficult time trying to take a shot. By doing that, Yuki is letting them know that he trusts them with the ball, and that will in turn make all his teammates have to play even more better. Because their is no worst feeling than letting your teammate down, when you see them going out there giving it their best. That is the beauty of Yuki's playstyle, that is how he makes all his teammates play and look good.
That's the effect of having a player that specializes in passing and playmaking. Everybody gets an equal chance to shine, so his teammates are more motivated to make cuts and find better positions because they know they will get the ball. The team becomes more effective on the offense because it keeps the opposing team guessing on where the attack is coming from.
I don't know much about how this game works, but to me he looks like he running up to the ring first, trying to diverge the attention of all his opponent before passing the ball to an unguarded teammate. The fact that he pulls it off in every scene is really awesome.
The team work with Yuki is absolutely mesmerising. Kudos to the entire team. Yuki can’t do slam dunks but he passes to his team mates just at the right time and place where they can dunk.
Yuki Kawamura is a rising star in the NBA, showcasing incredible skills and talent on the court. He is definitely making a name for himself and taking the world by storm with his impressive performances. Keep an eye on this Japanese player, as he is sure to continue making waves in the basketball world.🔥🏀 #YukiKawamura #NBA #RisingStar
He's a modern day John Stockton. Good command of the offense in a half court set, being able to draw the defense and drop dimes. He makes his team better and more efficient. He's not the most athletic and lacks size much like Stockton but his skill level and basketball IQ is great.
Kawamura's stats this year: 1.6 pts/game; 40.0% FG% (28.6% 3PT) and 0.7 Apg Let's maintain some semblance of perspective. Yes, Kawamura is a sweet, unselfish passer and I'm rooting for him to stick in the league, but no he hasn't remotely taken anything by "BY STORM", not even the G-League.
@@quizy5930 Well, why do you think he's only playing three mins/game? Maybe it's due to an insidious plot engineered by Grizzles management and some evil cabal to torpedo Kawamura's career (and throwing away millions in Japanese corporate endorsements for the franchise), or maybe Kawamura just isn't good enough to compete for meaningful mins behind Morant, Smart, Bane, Pippen and Kennard?
@@dl3988 So what are you saying that if he was given Ja Morant play time in a game his stats wouldn't improve that much? Most NBA players were to only avg 4 minutes play time stats would look much worse than that or a bunch of goose eggs. This is common sense why he is getting the amount of time that he is, and that is due to the level of competition for playing time, the fact that he has been on the Grizzlies for 4 months so he's the new guy at the bottom of the totem pole, and then the biggest elephant in the room the one thing that no matter how good a player can be when you are short teams & coaches will always second guess you or have doubts. Yuki is the official shortest player in the NBA. Due to that he will have a hard difficult battle ahead of him, but that doesn't mean he can't overcome it we have seen it done before Muggsy Bogues 5 Ft 3 inches & Spud Webb 5 Ft 7 inches. They list Yuki at 5 Ft 8 inches. In NBA standards we all think of and look at Steve Nash as short, but he is actually 6 Ft 3 inches. Lastly, Yuki signed two way contract with Memphis in October after appearing in all 5 preseason games, when he averaged 3.4 pts and 4.2 assists in 15 min of the bench. So clearly if given the opportunity to have some playing time it isn't a question will his stats improve the question is how good does he want to be, and that will be for him to decide.
The japanese version of Chris Paul. A pure example of point guard (PG) in basketball. He's gonna be a japanese and worldwide basketball superstar someday if he keeps going in NBA. 🇯🇵🏀👍

Yuki is a proof that slipping past (and probably under) everyone is a valid strategy in basketball
