The idea of Sand whale is interesting. Here's my opinion how it can looklike. Sand whale should have a massive or more than two fins and small rocks instead of barnacles. The tail can be long but strong, like whip and no fin on the end. And you have great ideas in creature designing
The concept of adventures hunting down monsters like the thunderbird and creating armor really does pose a question what kind of effects other monster would have as armor🤔
I liked both of these creatures. With the Land Sharks, I've always had this fascination that there are different types of animals not only on the surface of the sand and rocks, but beneath as well. I love the Bulette in Dungeons and Dragons, because it too "swims" in the ground and it's nickname is the Sand Shark. The Thunderbird, I love tall birds. They have an interesting life, one hardly explored or talked about. Terror birds were well terrifying. But they were also majestic in their own way. I have a bird in my own stories called a Lukasham. It's as tall as a ostrich, mean as a tiger, plumage like a peacock and it lives in tall grasslands of a desert and/or forest region. They are super protective of their nests and will chase down any predator who tries to get close. My Lukasham are mainly herbivores, but they will occasionally eat small rodents if their dietary needs are not met during difficult times. I love your videos and the bestiary grows! Keep it going! Super awesome! Have a great day!
If you're ever thinking of doing deep sea creatures, some animal inspirations i think would be cool are Giant Isopods, Japanese Spider Crabs and Anglerfish
I'm imagining that Razzhir desert natives had to get creative to figure out how to harm the sand thrasher. Seeing as it constantly gets sand blasted under a lot of pressure just to move around. I'd imagine it to be similar to the Nemean Lion from the Hercules myth. Somehow suffocating it, killing it from the inside, or attacking the scales backwards to how it swims would be what i would think of
The Thunderbird is my Favorited a unique way of blending terrorbird, roadrunner and Native American culture to incorporate into typically Eagle like Thunderbird. And I think sand whales would be cool to see in the Rahzzair desert, I could see it be in a large filter feeder perhaps feeding on Sand krill (if they exist in your world) and other small animals, I can also see it vomited excess sand as molten projectiles that harden into black glass upon impact encasing anything that comes across it or as a form of marking its territory.
awesome, love me some sand shark monsters, always cool to treat the desert like a massive sea neat seeing you add reptilian features, i am amazed you didn't go for a skink or the sand fish lizard AWESOME, always cool seeing unique thunder bird depiction,s the Galarian Zapdos look was a nice reference, i used a similar reference for my own thunderbird (with with that i added more of the Kantonian 1 also)
A desert whale would be fun to see. I think you should use references for both whales and crocodiles for the design, but that's just my opinion. Keep up the good work.
because you already mentioned sand whales , something I always found really cool were flying whales that swimm through the skies. I would really love to see your take on such a animal
Been lovin your videos since you started this series. For the Sand whale it could be a similar colour pattern to the Sand thrasher but a lil’ bit darker. It has a whale like body but sauropod-like bulky legs and a protruding lower jaw to help dig holes for it to rest in. And I’d love to see a Muto like creature that maybes lives in the bay of thieves.
Nice designs, Josh! Your thunderbird design reminded me of my own creature that I made called the Dodornis, minus the lightning motif, and the fact is that it is a dodo-ratite hybrid!
not me doing the same things when I was little (and still do) but got no recognition ever so I gave up on posting abt it- and here you are, living my dream xV PFFFF im dead
You're designs are so cool dude! I loved the fungal dinosaur from one of your previous videos. It would be interesting to see what you can come up with for a monster based in one of the colder regions like winter blight! Cheers
Thses are amazing . We need a Tyrannosaurus rex type creater mixed with a salt water crocodile and its region is the stone yeard region or even the emraled glades
I wish that some of these creatures were in monster hunter I would love to fight some of these in monster hunter and make cool and strong armour and weapons Keep up the great work man
Your sand thrasher reminds me of that desert hammerhead shark wyvern thingy from Monster Hunter... I HATE those things! Not that it doesn't great though! But due to the above mentioned reasons I'm definitely a bigger fan of your thunderbird!
That really cool concept and design, you know i also have my oc creture that really inspired by Hydrachos (a fictional sea serpent that recontraction of many basilosarus skeleton). My version of hydrachos is semi aquatic creature with serpentine body that similar to najarala (a snake wyvern from monster hunter) it has flipers that can still walk on land, much similar to sea lion, it head similar to crocodile or mosasaurus but with more robust skull and jaw, also it has heterodentist mean it has different teeth type. For the power or ability it can breath fire and plasma beam from it's mouth
soup cult hoorah sadly he already did leviathan so no go on the name but cool idea I would think its something like how the big monster is sort of like a queen and the rest are workers but maybe there're fewer workers. like a cross between lions and ants or wolves and ants or any other pack hunter and ants make a pot luck out of all the species of shall we call them Pack Ants? or something like that. maybe Hunter Ants Add some potatoes, tomatoes, onions and some other stuff. soup cult rules Head Chef sir.
Awesome, the Sand Thrasher looks very Epic and love its design! An Excellent Serpent-y Land Shark! And that is a Badass Thunderbird! Great thinking using the Terror Bird for its design, looks very Interesting! How about Creatures from the Land of the Ancients?
For your vampire you should look up the Native Australian Yarra-ma Ya-hoo (I may have butchered that name) it could make an interesting monster/vampire inspiration
Hi again! ❤ maybe you could make a video showing the creatures you intend to only show in your book? Because not everyone will get your book just to see a few exclusive creatures. Maybe you could make a compilation of all the episodes in this series 😊 Edit* maybe you could make a domestic hellhound
Here's some idea, a six legged tiger like creature with black insectoid armor with neon green lines in between it's armor, it have large venomous fang to kill it's prey, a lone hunter
Great work as usual, but the dorsal fin is way too long, terrible for camouflage, and is longer than it needs to be for stability. If it was just a little taller than the one on the head it would be just fine. Keep up with the great work and getting better.
I dont know witch region I wanted to see next... But I would have some ideas for creatures you could use as an Inspiration, or ideas in general: Selkies, Unicorns, A Kind of flying whale or manta ray, or...
Love this video!! Landsharks and thunderbirds are amongst my favourite fantasy creatures! By the way, I came across a channel of a Project Eldrem, with an art stye VERY similar to yours. Are you involved with it?? If so, I will start digging into those videos too!
In this series do you think that it will include weapons and armor which can be made out of parts of a creature like the feather of the thunderbird can be used to make the tip if the arrow to make it electric
An idea for a creature hulk beetle they are very rare 10 foot tall humanoid rhino beetles big muscular arms, small red eyes a mouth that are gust teeth they were created 600 years ago by an orc alchemist who wanted to use them as soldiers for the orc but they grew out of control and escaped. Hulk Beatles will and can eat anything. Sand wood rock meat bone fire metal you name it they will and can eat it they have the jaw power to do it. their carapace exoskeletons are five times tougher than tungsten steel and resistant to pretty much almost anything and they have no fear they don’t care if you’re a dragon Leviathan kraken or even a God you are something to be killed and eaten they have the strength and power to do so they’re strong enough tear a steel in half like it’s merely paper and can punch true armour like it wool and like all rhinoceros Beatles they have that big horn on their head and for hulk Beatles they can shoot a powerful beam of energy through it strong enough make crater 20 feet wide thankfully they are very rare and reproduce very slowly and most of the time if they’re lucky they’ll lay two eggs every 5 years which is good because the world would not like to be over with these beasts.
Sand Thrasher breaches
Desert boat hand: You're gonna need a bigger boat.
Ooo for the sand whale do a combo of a mud skipper and a blue whale (desert hopper)
Now imagine seeing a whale size creature jumping in the desert

The sand thrasher and your take on the thunder bird was really cool.
Love the dune reference and the overall design of the sand thrasher!
Thanks 🙏🏻
for the thunder bird i feel like if you used a rubber saddle pad to go with the saddle along with wodden stirrups could allow you to ride them
The concept of adventures hunting down monsters like the thunderbird and creating armor really does pose a question what kind of effects other monster would have as armor🤔
These look so cool! Also I love that you're taking different mythologies and incorporating them into your world
I think you should do another cold/snow biome, with the Bearfolk who need to stay there so they don’t overheat from their magical fire ability
I’m so excited to see your interpretation of the Native American folklore creature Thunderbird
Please do Cyclops, Bunyip, Sphinx and Humbaba
You did the Thunderbird, now you got to draw their mortal enemies, the Hornd Serpents. I kinda forgot their names, UTAKA?
I liked both of these creatures.
