For those asking if this will be uploaded daily, naw there's no way! This video took 50+ hours to make, it'd be impossible to do them daily. Weekly, or every other week is my goal. :D

There is an easier way to do the nidoking glitch by going to the city after the forest and buying an escape rope trainer in the forest that notices you as soon as he comes on screen go one tile off screen pause the game as you go on screen use the escape rope and basically doing the same stuff another youtuber called MissingnoXpert explains it better than myself.
This is a great series! Please continue, it has great potential

its an 11 min long episode......its not patience, its called intent. he intended to do this, knowing he would have to restart his game a thousand times, and when it makes you money....you do whatever makes you money, specially if its just turning a game off and on again....

The way you describe the nidoking glitch sounds like one of those really old videos that trick you into thinking you can get mew.
This glitch is fake and causes an infinite loop of battles

I just started watching your videos and I also subscribed (my first video I saw was your Super Mario Sunshine Glitchfest Part 2) and I have to say, your videos are awesome! Your one of my favorite RUclipsrs!
The only glitch I ever found on my own with Red/Blue without the internet was that if you Cut a tree and walk over top of it and save, then restart your game, you'll be on top of the tree that respawned. I was proud of myself at the time.

To get Gengar instead of Nidoking (on red version) go to victory road to fight your rival before going back into the forest. Take out his pidgey and then use 6 growl on his squirtle before you kill it. you will walk into the forest and find a level 1 gengar if you do it right.
you can also get a ivysaur to evolve into venasaur if you fight a female Nidoran
Can you use tail whip as well?
+Benjamin Bogart didn't try, I think it's about the attack state though. maybe tailwhip would get a different pokemon or level?

I watched this series many, many years ago, and it got me to do a glitch playthrough of these games myself at the time. Eventually, I forgot about it, and when I remembered it years later, I couldn't find it. A few years have passed since then, but I was finally able to find it, and I feel young again. This series left more of an impact on me than it reasonably probably should have. I know this is a strange thing to say, and you likely won't see this, but thank you.

I can see where you went wrong though, missing the tenten (The two apostrophecomma things, which is why Ko was not Go) missing the maru (The circle next two the two apostrophecomma things, which is why Ha was not Pa) and finally mistakening Shi and Tsu. They look similar, but Tsu's other two apostrophe comma things are vertical, when you wanted the horizontal ones. Also, you were missing tenten again, hence why Shi wouldn't've been Ji like you wanted anyways. Okay short Japanese lesson over.

6:49 what's funny is I played Pokemon Yellow for the first time recently, and that (getting an encounter right in front of a trainer) happened to me several times completely unintentionally.

I can see where you get that from. I had trouble telling "shi from "tsu" for the longest time.
Donovan Megerle I am sure I am not wrong. I rechecked what he put several times. The one he used, its dashes are vertical, not horizontal, meaning he put "tsu" instead of "shi" and there aren't any lines beside it to make it "ji". Recheck it. It's at 1:14.

Does it have an english meaning?
@@10KC20MG It depends on how it's written with kanji (ideograms). The most common meaning for "naka" is "inside, in the middle" (represented by 中) while you could combine lots of different kanji to create several words / expressions that are pronounced "senhai".

The Nidoking Glitch is actually a form of the infamous Mew glitch. The only change is he has to faint while in front of the trainer because there is no other way to teleport from the trainer before they battle you at this point in the game. You can get just about any Pokemon with this glitch it just depends on the special value of the last Pokemon you battle before returning to the route you began the glitch (in this case Viridian Forest). Example is his getting a Slowbro at 9:12. This is because he most likely battled a Kakuna or Weedle that has a special value related to Slowbro. So if you are getting anything other than Nidoking it is because you are not battling the right Pokemon.

Hope this helps. And yes it does work on the downloadable versions of these games released on the 3DS
Note: Yellow players the Pokemon obtained using your rivals special will be different as he uses different Pokemon than in the other versions. Also there are a few places where team rocket grunts are replaced with Jessie and James encounters resulting in different encounters as well. Other than that though the map is accurate as far as I've tested.

I did that nidoking thing for a gengar. I tried for 3 hours
all I know is someone replied that you needed to fight your rivals squirtle, assuming you chose charmander. don't remember which version was being used. there was a reply that said something like having to lose that battle as well

I’m so glad I found this video! When I played Pokémon yellow for the first time I’m somehow got into this glitch and got a level 100 Nidoking. I never understood how it happened and I could never find anything about the glitch online. Thank you for letting me know I wasn’t going crazy!

I too, have Pokémon Green.
I started playing the Japanese Red and called my player POOP using Japanese characters similar to English letters.
Also while playong Red, Professor Oak went right through the fat science guy when he brought me to his lab.
Also I got the random encounter with the mandatory trainer in Viridian Forest, but it was a Caterpie that I caught.
Took hours, but finally got it to work. This glitch confirmed for 3ds version.

Coming back to this video 8 years later and being able to fully read Katakana and Hiragana, I can say that:
Hero: なか (naka - meaning inside) - Intended spelling: ばか or バカ (baka - meaning idiot)
Rival: せんはい (senhai - doesn't mean anything) - Intended spelling: せんぱい (senpai - meaning senior)
Bulbasaur: コツラ (kotsura - actually a name) - Intended spelling: ゴジラ (Gojira - Japanese name for Godzilla)
