For people wondering what happened at the end, almost 4 years later - when the glitch sound played it started overwriting stuff in the RAM, and eventually this crashed the game.

I certainly can't wait for it! I do agree, however, that you do have to take your time. Quality is always more important than quantity. These glitch videos, both your Glitchfest series and this Glitch Quest series are interesting with the glitches alone, but with your commentary, they are hilarious! I wonder how many times you'll break the world with this series?
That last glitch is some SERIOUS creepypasta material.
I thought it was leftovers from the battle, because the game thought the battle was still happening, so it played the Pokemon cries in the background along with the music.
@@danganronpatrash8053 no, i think what's happening is after the battle ends, the game tries loading a textbox, but the commands are invalid, and in gen I, invalid text commands are treated as in game noises. Also probably the reason the game grashes after that is corruption.
@0:51 for those interested, there is a version of this glitch that was discovered later. Basically the glitch asks the question, what happens if you talk to the guy from the right side after performing this glitch. Most of the time the answer is the game hardlocks and glitches out completely because the game begins to execute arbitrary code. However, part of the memory the game jumps to is you Pokémon inventory and by putting in certain setups you can trigger the navigation. The problem is that the game no longer knows where to navigate you and you are free to move. Little known fact about gen1, but, during cutscenes when control from the player is taken away and you are navigated by an npc, collisions are turned off. Thus, doing this glitch results in being able to walk through walls. Just don’t stop walking before entering a new location or the game will lock up.

0:18 Level 100 Nidoking! "Curtis's Attack Missed"
As a note: In yellow you can do the escape rope thing before beating Brock. This way you can use the dude that wont let you pass trigger the event instead of another battle. Basically use escape rope, get into any battle you like, then try to walk past the dude. Go back to Viridian forest and you will get a message about a pikachu (Girl at the bottom left of the map). She wont be there, but the message immediately pops up followed by a battle. The pokemon in this battle depends on the battle you fought before walking past the dude (ex: Lv4 Caterpie = Nidoking). You must successfully growl 6 times to get it at level 1, and finding a Lvl4 Caterpie you can growl 6 times is hard (most of the time you only get 5). Some Lvl 4 Caterpie lead to a Voltorb so you may have to try many times for a Nidoking.
Also, to level the Nidoking to 100 the next battle must give you less than 55 exp for that pokemon or you end up at level 2 instead. It has to do with how the z80 parses negative numbers (-55). Pokemon yellow doesn't use negative numbers so when the most significant bit changes to 1, you end up at 55 less than the max the register can hold. You get more than 55 experience and it rolls over back to just above 0 and you are stuck leveling the normal way.

It wouldn't be much of a "quest" in the sense that glitches in that game are quite prevalent during normal gameplay whereas Pokemon here requires (for most of the glitches at least) several specific steps to achieve.
I'm pretty sure he would die before he completes that series.......

The names were purposeful. The Hero's is obvious, rival is moo cow as you mentioned, and Bulbasaur's was meant to be Gopupu (Go poo-poo) but I messed that up apparently.

Fun fact: If you talk to different trainers after using the escape rope trick, you get different text before the random trainer battle
For example, if you talk to the pokemon next to the trainer in cerulean city, you pick up a tm before the battle

I heard part of the music from Cerulean Cave, where you catch Mewtwo, if anyone doesn't know what the cave is. You can only get to Cerulean Cave after beating the Pokémon League in 1st gen, but in Fire red and Leaf green, you have to do the same thing, but you also have to save Elite Four Lorelei from Team Rocket on Four Island.
Love that the Dracula's Castle theme from SotN is playing in the background.
