DRUDKH - The Nocturnal One (Official Video)

- Ukrainian black metal stalwarts DRUDKH are now releasing the official music video for the new song, "The Nocturnal One". The video was originally not slated for release until later this year, along with a new record from the band. However, due to the increasingly dangerous situation in their homeland, being situated in the epicentre of the invasion, the band has requested that the video be released immediately as sign of Ukrainian resistance.
DRUDKH has always shown unwavering pride for their country through their music. This poignant statement is a testament to their fighting spirit and love for their homeland. The new record and its details will be revealed in time. Due to vinyl plant delays, the album release is delayed until late 2022.
Season of Mist has been in contact with Drudkh over the phone today.
They stated the following:
"Even though we weren't supposed to share any statement or music until later this year, we are grateful to get this new track out here today. It represents HOPE, may it strengthen those who need it."
Our hearts go out to Drudkh and all our Ukrainian artists.

I love this band since their "Autumn Aurora" Album from 2004, back into that day, i googled it, and noticed that these guys are from Kharkiv, Ukraine. I am listening to all their Albums since then. My thoughts are with them, into these darkest days. 🇩🇪 ♥️ 🇺🇦

I bought it when it on cassette when it first came out. Just on a whim, alsoit was all I could afford from redtstream at the time. Early teens. Couldn't believe what I was hearing. It was incredible. Didn't even realize how important they'd become. I mean, I knew they were good... recently lost my entire collection of memories. That tape was one of them. So much black metal. So many shirts... records... all gone. Really, this war hits home. It hits me on a very deep. Sure my loss doesn't compare... but it almost seems appropriate. This year. Losing everything...

@@DeadJDona Ageed. The USA gets a lot of stick for causing terrorism, and while that is true people are completely ignoring what the Soviet Union did over the years too. They were meddling with Afghanistan way before America did. Now Putin has brought a new wave of terrorism across Europe. He is genuinely this era's Adolf Hitler and I can only hope that someone in his circle is willing to put an end to him before Russia is the next North Korea and isolated from the world. Ukraine does not deserve any of this but Russians do not deserve it either.

But qhats considered a stinker for drudkh? Handful Of Stars? Songs Of Grief And Solitude? If thats their worst (to the fandom not me) then sign me the fk up. It is because of the warfare and strife that the Ukrainian people have faced so much in the past that the poets and artists of the 19th and 20th centuries emerged, which is largely what inspires this music that we love. So, while my heart goes out to those who suffer in Ukraine right now, perhaps it will end as a part of something greater.
One thing is for sure, the will of a nation who's spirit has been forged in centuries of fighting cannot be broken.

Brilliant song! Classic! I could not relate Drudkh with this video though. I always picture forest, rain etc. when listening to Drudkh.
Yet another brilliant release. Although I'm in the US and do not understand the lyrics, I have always thoroughly enjoyed each and every release. They never mess with the formula. I always feel their music deep in my soul and connect organically. Almost brings tears of joy and hope.

I really like this band but wondereing if this is the original sound? It sounds like there is a lot of saturation on the master bus, way more than all other drudkh i know. Great song btw, one of my fav bands!
I was wondering the same, it sounds like it was mastered waaay too hot and clipping all over the place. Although if they were expediting it to release the video it could've just been a quick down and dirty mix/master in order to get it out
