1:12 Is so deceiving... that's how big the cities SHOULD be but sadly it's 4 separate cities.
Zach Kaiser it’s the same city but copied and pasted into the background to make it seem more interesting.
I won't buy it for personnal ethical reasons towards Simcity and EA, but I must admit, this seems quite appealing.
Then torrent it
@@nanoman8 I tried too, Were did you find yours?
9yrs later. You didn’t miss much
Why so many down votes? This game looks awesome!
Robert Ibeh play it once and you'll see how terrible it is.. It disappointed everyone and I wasted my money.
@@andy.8444 Guess what, i played it and i love it
Because of developer EA, I think
@@andy.8444 it's awesome if it's free
Me neither! Idc what other people think, I cant wait for this, gonna be sooo cool
Can we get a new SimCity? Please? It's 2020 for god's sake
maxis emeryville was shutdown by ea since March 2015, another simcity will never make
Even if EA hadn't shut down Maxis, making new SimCity will be 99% likely non profitable. They spend a lot of effort to Sim City 2013 game design, systems, art direction and soundtrack, they made really great game only for players complain on everything cause they can't build pointless kilometers of buildings. The community gets what they deserve (nothing).
@@vnshngpntBut it's ridiculous. Why is the game ruined just because there was a mistake? This game is my childhood game.
Simcity 2000 for the psx one was a classic. Who here is old enough to remember that one
Can you guys add more disasters, like flooding, nuclear detonation, hurricanes, or maybye a Dr. Vu Attack!
You could argue about the price. But let's face it, apart from pricing this can make your SC(5) experience better. Also considering that maps actually get somewhat bigger. They get "higher", you can fit more people into the same 2D space.
In general: It's not perfect, but what is? Considering all updates now it's better. Could've been better at release, but yeah.
I think I'll get this expansion pack.
haters please for the love of christ stop spamming the same comment if you don't like it don't comment is it not hard to just ignore it
Guys, calm down. It's no where near a perfect game. Yes, the cities are small. But come on, this is a pretty cool looking expansion and I like the way they are going with it.
I got this two days ago and i played yesterday and it's so cool so stop complain i know that maps are small but still...
The idea behind this are actually pretty cool. I wonder how well they will pan out in gameplay
Mute this video and play this in the background :3
Futurama Theme [Full]
This is the NSA's game all those drones man. ALL THOSE DRONES.
Maxis/EA NEVER said bigger maps are impossible! They said it is impossible for most players computers (casual game, most people playing have prebuilt HPs or whatever) but for those of us with computers in the four thousand dollar range I am SURE it is possible to have larger maps.
I preordered simcity, this time I'm going to buy this when it's on SALE.
Pre-ordered. Can't wait.
Small maps? Not a problem. I'm a mayor. I learn to use what I have and make it great, rather than whine.
They did however say they are not making any plans whatsoever about bigger maps. Instead, because of not being able to truly do this, they're working on an offline mode for us.
To all those whining about bigger maps; USE SPACE WISELY. Using the space given in a wise, and intelligent way is part of managing your city.
Learn to use what you have before wanting bigger maps.
Although I kinda hate EA for putting high prices on their DLCs, but I managed to get this EP for a cheaper price. If you decided to buy this EP, google it and some websites do offer cheaper prices. Please, don't buy this EP directly from the Origin.
Bigger maps are not feasible in the online game because athe game needs to be accessible to all players, so don't waste your breath until we have more information on the the potential offline mode
I do agree that the game DOES suck at the moment (I say "at the moment" because I am pretty sure they can't ignore people yelling into their ear through a megaphone) but this actually does seem interesting. Add offline mode and bigger maps for offline mode, then add this expansion, and the game will ACTUALLY be pretty good.
I can't believe they called this SimCITY. The maps are so tiny it should be called SimNeighborhood
I'm the same, I keep stopping to play other games but always come back to SimCity
I, for one, am very excited for this expansion.
Its amazing 😉
yeah cool I'll prove it
True, but the point is people spend anywhere from $300 to $10,000 on their computers which they play games on. You should be able to plot as big a plot of land as you want, with a scaling performance meter according to the size. If you have 32 GB of DDR3 RAM with a 5 GHz quad core and two TITAN GPUs on a T1 connection you should be able to handle some city simulation on a scale larger than currently in the game.
Hey, not only big maps, what about all the land that is good for nothing between squared cities????
And where is the terrain editor and more organic cities that are not based on arbitrary squares...
Bigger maps means redesigning the engine, closing the servers for bit making all of u rage. Every city will have to be deleted that was built before and every region would have to be redesigned... Think if u want all of that for a bigger map.
only thing holding me back from coming back to sim city is the limited map sizes...
It's probably impossible because Glassbox struggles enough with these tiny cities, Can you imagine it trying to manage an entire region all at once? It would be a total disaster!
>they can simply add different sizes of maps
ever thought that the engine might not be able to handle bigger maps/cities? its a big possibility if you ask me..fact is that they won't make bigger maps (confirmed multiple times from officials). Case closed.
Every single one of your potential costumers is waiting for that
We will not stop shouting until we get larger maps! There's many powerful PCs among us. EA, you are monster! Maxis, try your best!
For the reasons that they gave, they should just put all the maps next to each other so we can create huge cities with SUBURBS
I still can't believe I was waiting 10 years for a new SimCity game just to get this... thing.
They should run simcity offline that not connect just for single player. Rather think it might not work. They should run a demo that it might not or work some case for pc hardware specs. The bigger map as well since fun to run some alive.
Already ordered. Guess who their target market is? It sure isn't people who complain about expansions just because they are anonymized by the internet. Go get 'em, EA.
i hate when games try to take your money, yes its an amazing game and an amazing expansion pack, it probably took a lot of work to make. but is it really worth $30. making it $15 would drive sales up even more and keep all this hate away
download it illegal
Simcity's facebook page shared a collection of pictures from a city with more than a million citizens. I highly doubt they would post that if it wasn't simulating properly.
Well, it's the future, based of the great works, architecture
You implied that people would spend 4000 on a computer, you made no mention of using a workstation. I for one happen to also use things more intensive, like running tests in Realflow and rendering basic animations in Maya.
This IS based on reality. The megatowers are in fact, quite possible. Obviously, Omega does not exist but the concept is sound. YOU make no sense when you say this is a cop out.
Obviously placing the game in offline mode would produce bigger maps. Instead of making maps to where everyone played on equal terms, playing on a single computer would maximize performance. Maxis backed themselves into a corner by placing the game online and restricting the city sizes, claiming that it would "affect the gaming performance," while Nvidia is pleasantly laughing to themselves.
Everything that gets posedt about this game gets thousands of idiots shouting about bigger maps. They have said they WILL NOT be doing bigger maps, they are however working on offline and mod tools so the community will no doubt do it for them
That doesn't make any sense if you think about it. The excuses seem to be redundant. If they can make the game playable offline with no connection to their servers, everything being computed on your local system, then why can't we do that with big maps?
I would really love it if they made snowy regions (Just like that mod in simcity 4 where you can build a city in a snow-covered area) and made a subway :)
Yes!!! They need a region called Frosty Fjords
They stated that, but they lie... when offline mode arrives and the modding tools arrive, bigger maps will arrive :)
They can simply add different sizes of maps just like SC4. If your PC can't handle large maps then stick to the small ones. Case closed.
This is really an unwillingness from Maxis/EA. It's not like most of players having a bad computer. And seriously, if some players don't have a powerful computer for bigger maps, they could do something for staying on small maps!
im dissapointed by gamers. they pretty much shit at companies who are doing their best to make SimCity 5 more enjoyable. guys! they said the engine/simulation/AI cant handle bigger maps! there is no reason to go crazy, hate their channel or spam comments into every single forum/ website/ (even youtube, srsly?). and keep in mind that they need money to pay their workers! i actually like this expansion and appreciate their efforts. thanks alot, EA.
Anttonilla, its not the PC that matters, the ENGINE of the game cant handle it...
Man I hate people who think commenting on RUclips will change the game.
Traffic still completely broken - cities come to a halt (services) due to traffic.
And they offer an expansion to fix traffic? Can you say dishonest business practices?
Since traffic breaks and they refuse to fix it, you now have to pay for expansion so that services can get through the city as drones that hover over traffic and don't get stopped by it.
you must really suck ballz if you are still having traffic problems
You are shit at the game if you can't get traffic to work properly.
It's not EA being greedy again. It's you being a fucking noob.
Kolo Colossus I must disagree, the ai in the game has been borked and received little to no additional patches to resolve these issues. Also explain how it's his fault for not understanding the broken logic of the AI? In order for the traffic to work correctly you have to utilize workarounds rather than logical design decisions that's not a player being a noob that the game failing to work correctly.
BG213121 There was a traffic patch around august-september which greatly improved the AI, so don't you go around bullshitting me that nothing was being done to fix this.
I said little no patches and it's still pretty broken. I never said there wasn't any patches period. The fact is it still doesn't work properly, and don't you go all gung ho brand loyalty on me. You're a consumer, you don't work for the company you don't need to defend their flaws because of some misguided loyalty. EA has to learn what mistakes they make in order to improve so stop defending an obviously broken product in lieu of new content.
It's aimed at "The sims" fans who don't even notice when a games is broken at the very foundations.EA are so lucky Ocean Quigley was working on the project because he really helped to make a bad game look good.
people enjoy different things, I know lots of people that have hundreds of hours in simcity including myself, I am still not bored of the game, I've made probably close to 100 cities, I love testing new things, layouts and designs. and what do you mean these dlc's contain nothing? read the patch notes, there's tons of stuff the patches do
they make the cities look so big in these videos.
the beta was fun, but with soooooooo many glitches at launch i lost intrest very quickly. the game was unplayable off line as a single player game. you had to be connected to a server to play, problem was i couldn't get into a game with other people to play, i could start my own game..but i couldn't connect with anyone online to play. So i get to make one city on one map, and then i had to abandon it and make another one on a part of the map someone else was supposed to be useing and helping me out with stuff and vice versa....i don't know if they have fixed the problems with there rule about allways being connected online to play this game, its what killed it for me.
yea we have single player now :) so you can get mods you can play by your self and don't have 2 be connected all the time
This video is awesome, if the game would've come out working i would be buying this right now.
The only thing I want to know, if I was to purchase this would I be able to choose if I want to play in the cities of tomorrow mode, or just regular Sim City mode?
You could I think but you would have to buy both versions 🤔
Yay more things that I will never have room to try and build...never been more dissapointed in a game
Everything is possible, the question is how and when.
I don't need offline, but bigger maps are very important.
What region/city is the academy in this trailer at?
This is not the city-simulation game i was Hopkins for when SimCity for Mac was anounced.
I agree, smaller maps make the game harder, and it's the difficulty that makes a game enjoyable.
I say: Make some smaller maps, with less resources. Give me a challenge!
Were are th bigger city maps?
Don't see anybody w/a gun to ur head demanding u must buy it. Just don't be 1 of those ppl QQing on the forums, FB, Twitter or RUclips wanting new content & crying when u have to pay for it.
We don't want to be Anonymous, we just want EA to stop treating its customers like dirt. I bought a Game that wasn't ready, and has only recently got rid of game crippling bugs. and now EA expects customers to pay AAA title price for an EXPANSION.
I'm glad you're happy with your purchases.
I am not happy with my purchase, and I'm unhappier still that extra content is so expensive.
i'm pretty sure that it is possible on 600 dollar computers. the game does not need much resources to run.
Would you enjoy a bigger city that comes with a lot of crashes and such? No, I would not pay for a game that results in my misery thanks! I say this game and expansion packs are great as they are! remember how the older sim city games were??
This is cool, but i want bigger map!
If anything, maps with uneven terrain, a lot of lakes and rivers makes the game harder as it's usually rather expensive and harder to plan the zones and buildings. Whether it's small or big makes no difference and all it really does is limiting expansion, making it kind of... unexciting. This game already has very small maps and this is the easiest SimCity game I've ever played, no matter what resources are available. It honestly feels more like a Facebook game.
So, bigger maps, please!
So excited!!
Why EA makes everything so expensive?
🤪
They said they would have to rebuild the game from bottom up.
The Mapsize will be the same like SC5 :(
It seems cool and all.. but yeah.. I don't mean to be repeating what everyone's saying.. but a bigger map would be much nicer to have as an addition to the game!
crazy how big that city is...
I don´t get how Maxis/EA develops expansion packs on top of a partly broken game. And what happened to free new content - is that a thing of the past?
Well.. time to a new "adult" city simulator appears.
Nature preserve DLC ?
I think this game is great!" but it´s kind of expensive, I meant for Pack upgraded DLC cost 10€ and for this huge DLC is 40€ that way too expensive ..yea and of crouse the sizes way too small and there arn´t too much Maps either.. but in my oppinion it´s Fun somehow.
💯 👍
They don't want to put time into something that the vast majority of people will never see or use. It is a waste of their time when they can be working on things that actually make a difference, like an offline mode.
For people who love this game I bet they never played SimCity 4.
No Anttonilla, Maxis is loooong gone. The only thing that they know how to make is additional content for Sims.
Bored of the bashing. I've come to accept the smaller cities, if the game continues to make money, I have faith they will make a sequel and hopefully they can improve on the major stuff, like city size in the sequel. Go go Maxis!
Simcity would have been the greatest game if it wasn't for EA and The stupid Cloud
BIGGER CITIES!
EA prefers the quantity over quality business model
Oh For God Sake Maxis, We Are Saying Bigger Maps Not Taller Maps. Get Your Brains Working And Abandoned This Simcity To Create A New One!
I completely agree.
shit I still can't play SimCity 5 why would I get the expansion pack
I am sick of people complaining about the maps
Then don't buy it.. already ordered mine, can't wait :]
people might hate me for saying this, but am i like the only one excited for this DLC!?
yes XD
In 8 years no one like you
Wow, even EA use other cities to try to make maps look bigger. Also, you charge like 40$ for this? Some big tower and a re-skin of the entire game? Diabolically bad.
there is no point cos they clearly aren't gonna put the maps in
you people. Yes there possible. but they would have to re code GlassBox
I'm going to compare this to a Sims expansion, a civ III/IV Expansion and SimCity3000/4 expansions... THIS GIVES US LIKE 25 NEW OBJECTS, OFTEN VERY SIMILAR TO THE ORIGINAL GAME'S! Is "Future mode" playable with the main game/DLC/future expansions? Its worse that Societies Destinations, the dissapointment of 2007. But this has problems worse than societies... Unlimited/World Edition Simcity 3000 added scenarios, landmarks, tilesets, and reward buildings.
Awesome, can't wait! Looks very cool
Ooo what's that incoming ??? ... Must be cloud gaming looks wonderful but can't even play the first one
