  • Dive into the depths with me as we encounter the awe-inspiring beauty of a Great White Shark off the coast of Venice, Florida. 🦈🌊 Our adventure began as we stumbled upon this magnificent creature feasting on a deceased sperm whale - a rare sight to behold!
Meet Pi, the 12-foot female shark we encountered on Pi Day (3/14/24) - a serendipitous encounter that left us in awe of her grace and majesty. Diving alongside her was an experience beyond words, a memory etched in time forever.
Watch with me as Pi curiously investigates, bopping my camera with her nose, leaving us both exhilarated and humbled by her presence. 📸✨

For her to expose her belly to you like that and break visual contact while she inspected the boat indicates acceptance.

Nice job Jen, your stick is a little quieter than my up downs. Glad we had a chance to jump in and see her up close. Did ya get the whale oil off the camera yet??? lol I guess this makes us ride or die friends now. 😜

That swimming pattern inspecting you from all angles hoping to fool you into turning your back on it creeps me out sooo bad

As you can see, I never took my eyes off her. And when she took her eyes off me to inspect the surface, I knew it was time to exit the water. Her next passes would have been to inspect me closer.

This is off of Venice, Florida. Gulf of Mexico, about 30 miles off shore in about 90' depth

That takes some size of balls to get that water with that great white swimming around u sussing you out if ur dinner or not .. that's why keeps coming back n back rather swim away ...its just eyeing u up n watchin ur actions n they say can hear or feel your heartbeat to see if panicking or scared then will look u as prey even more .. but its defo sussing you out for lunch

There was a 70,000 lb deceased sperm whale about 50 yards away that was her dinner. You can see it in the distance when I'm up at the surface. I wasn't food. And I stayed calm and relaxed under the water to not look like or act like food. I've been around enough sharks in my diving life that I know how to react, or not react.

@@greatdayboattours still think it's sussing you out .. and if not as prey and food then as competing against it for sperms whale u mention and is thinkin taken bite u chase u off . 1 way or other its sussing you out with bad intentions in his head n eyes
