Kayla, your baby is beautiful and a gift from GOD. Did you know Baby Baptism is not in the word of GOD (KJV Bible?)
The way a person gets saved is they half to Hear, See and Believe in the Gospel of Jesus the Christ found in 1st Corinthians 15: 1-4. A Baby can not understand how to get saved until they grow up some. Kids (and adults) who are taught that Jesus Died on the Cross, Shed His Blood, was Buried and then Resurrected from the Dead to pay for their sins in full are Holy Baptized by GOD and given Eternal Life. Our Faith is from our Heart in the Finished Work of Jesus on the Cross.
I ran from all religions after I read GOD's word and learned how to get saved. Most religions are just that religions void of GOD's real truth. Really they are of satan's creation to keep people thinking they have to do this or do that to get saved. Ephesians 2: 8-9 in the KJV shows us that Salvation is a free gift from GOD and not or ourselves nor of our works.
I know this may be a hard pill to swallow as I assume your were born into and taught the Catholic religion.
I just belong to the Pure Religion and that is Jesus the Christ and I read his word as I did not want to be left behind nor cast into the lake of fire based on letting some religion mislead me.
Type in How to get saved by Robert Breaker and compare your religion to GOD's word.
      Love 4Truth!

    • @GratiaPrima_
      @GratiaPrima_ 4 года назад +5

Lucien Midnight Catholics do a sacrament called Confirmation when they fully understand and that’s when they are making a profession of faith that they believe all that the Church teaches. Baptism is because we need to be brought into a right relationship with God and deal with “original sin.” As Catholics we believe that can happen as a baby, so Catholic parents baptize children. But yes, you need to make the faith your own and live it, that’s what Confirmation is about.

      Izuku Midoriya
Hello. I hope I could explain well for you.
      We baptize babies to:
      1. Grant them entrance into the New Covenant
      2. Wash away the state of Original Sin
I was always taught that baptism is something you do after you have decided to follow Christ.
You can, but that's not always what happens. In Acts 2:37-39 Saint Peter says the promises of baptism are for children in a real cut-and-dry manner.
Now when they heard this [the Gospel] they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.”
Acts also records instances of "entire" households being baptized. In this time and culture it would be very likely that the houses they baptized had at least 1 child under the age many Protestants consider to be appropiate:
      1 Cor 1:16
(I did baptize also the household of Stephanas. Beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized anyone else.)
      Acts 16:15
And after she was baptized, and her household as well, she urged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay.” And she prevailed upon us.
      Acts 16:31
And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
      Acts 18:8
Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord, together with his entire household. And many of the Corinthians hearing Paul believed and were baptized.
And finally we have from historical evidence that the early Christians carried on the practice of baptizing infants:
Saint John Chrysostom, Archbishop of Constantinople (Baptismal Catecheses in Augustine, Against Julian 1:6:21 [A.D. 388]).
"You see how many are the benefits of baptism, and some think its heavenly grace consists only in the remission of sins, but we have enumerated ten honors [it bestows]! For this reason we baptize even infants, though they are not defiled by [personal] sins, so that there may be given to them holiness, righteousness, adoption, inheritance, brotherhood with Christ, and that they may be his [Christ’s] members"
Saint Augustine, Bishop of Hippo (Forgiveness and the Just Deserts of Sin, and the Baptism of Infants 1:9:10; 1:24:34; 2:27:43 [A.D. 412]).
"By this grace baptized infants too are ingrafted into his [Christ’s] body, infants who certainly are not yet able to imitate anyone. Christ, in whom all are made alive . . . gives also the most hidden grace of his Spirit to believers, grace which he secretly infuses even into infants. . . . It is an excellent thing that the Punic [North African] Christians call baptism salvation and the sacrament of Christ’s Body nothing else than life. Whence does this derive, except from an ancient and, as I suppose, apostolic tradition, by which the churches of Christ hold inherently that without baptism and participation at the table of the Lord it is impossible for any man to attain either to the kingdom of God or to salvation and life eternal? This is the witness of Scripture, too. . . . If anyone wonders why children born of the baptized should themselves be baptized, let him attend briefly to this. . . . The sacrament of baptism is most assuredly the sacrament of regeneration"
Saint Hippolytus (The Apostolic Tradition 21:16 [A.D. 215]).
"Baptize first the children, and if they can speak for themselves let them do so. Otherwise, let their parents or other relatives speak for them"
Origen of Alexandria (Commentaries on Romans 5:9 [A.D. 248]).
"The Church received from the apostles the tradition of giving baptism even to infants. The apostles, to whom were committed the secrets of the divine sacraments, knew there are in everyone innate strains of [original] sin, which must be washed away through water and the Spirit"
Chyrsostom, Augustine, Hippolytus, and Origen are all MAJOR major early Christians the Protestants cited to try and justify their views, and sure enough... they all believed in baptized children!
Infant baptism wasn't even a big point for the Protestant Movement, neither Martin Luther nor King Henry accepted it - as a result even the largest Protestant denomination (Anglicans) baptize infants. And thus, the good majority of Christians baptize infants.
Hope this was helpful, God bless.

As Catholics, we believe in baptizing our children at an early age. This is because we are all born with original sin, and God forbid anything bad happen to the child, we want God to receive our children in his kingdom. Baptism is the parents choice. Later on when the kids are around 8-13 years old, they go to church classes to prepare them for confirmation. At this point, they are more conscious of what everything is, and they have a say on their choice. By taking the Eucharist ,during communion, which is the body and blood of Christ, we are given the chance to eternal life in Gods kingdom. After confirmation, as either a teen or adult, we prepare for our confirmation. At this point, you are fully conscious of what you faith is, and you decide. Confirmation is confirming that you choose to follow God in the true way it was intended and and choose to follow the Catholic Church. So, yes, in the end we do have a say on our faith.

I'm not catholic but I need to say something to this comment. You have no right to tell someone their way of living their religion is wrong! That's the beauty of life we are free to worship and practice religion how we want. All I saw was a beautiful baby being loved and accepted no harm done. You practice your religion and let them practice theirs!
