Johnny DESTROYED by INSANE Korea University Festival Cheering!?!

- Today we are back at Korea University with Johnny, to experience one of the most unique University Festival cultures in the world!! During the year that I spent studying at Korea University I met lots of incredible people and had lots of new experiences, but by far the most unforgettable was the experience of Korea-Yonsei University rivalry, and the cheering culture that surrounds the rival festivals.
Unfortunately we weren't in Korea with Johnny for the actual 고연전 this year, but we were lucky enough to take him to the Ipsilenti Festival, and get a glimpse of how Korea University students come together, cheer for their university, and bond together!!

오늘은 조니와 함께 다시 고려대에 가서 세상에서 가장 독특한 대학 축제를 경험해봅니다!! 제가 고대에서 교환학생으로 지내는 동안 정말 좋은 사람도 많이 만나고 새로운 경험도 많이 해봤지만, 그중에서도 가장 잊을 수 없는 기억은 고연전과 축제, 그리고 응원전이었던 것 같아요!
안타깝게도 조니와 올해 고연전은 함께 가보지 못했지만, 입실렌티 축제는 타이밍이 딱 맞아서 고대 학생들이 어떻게 응원하고 단결하는지 보여줄 수 있었답니다!!
지난주 토요일에 축제 첫째날 영상 올린거 아직 못 보셨다면 꼭 놓치지 말고 첵잍아웃!!

I follow several vlogs about some aspect of SK, listen to kpop, watch kdramas and movies, and then I see something like this and I realize I know absolutely nothing about this amazing country and culture. Maybe one day I’ll be able to visit.
However, we pay a lot of time to get there and enjoy haha😢😥😥

So I'm not sure why but for some reason, I got super emotional watching this. Like, we're talking legit "choked up, why do my eyes want to get teary" kinda stuff. I don't know why hahaha. I just really want to experience this. :( Hardly anyone at my university has any kind of school pride and there would never in a million years be something like this. It just seems like such an incredible experience.
you're not alone!! i wish i had this sense of community at my school :(( everyone stuck to their circles and kept to themselves which is a shame.
Sure the school and many other factors play a role in this. But you could change your own community to be more like this. One step at a time.

올해 여름에 고려대학교를 졸업한 학생입니다. :) 현재 외국에서 생활하고 있는데, 모교 축제에서 조시와 조니가 응원가를 즐기는 모습을 보니 괜히 학부생 때가 그리워지네요 :D

My uncle went to this university back in the old days. It's well known for prestigious school but also crazy party college life. I had no idea it was this crazy. LOL

Mennn this seems like a place I want to study at. My uni doesn't have an exchange program with Korea university, but they do with yonsei so I guess I'm going to the enemyyyyy hahahaha
yonsei is the rival uni of kora uni. so they organize a festival together. You can experince exactly same thing in yonsei uni. Only those two unis have that crazy festival.
my friend went to Yonsei uni on exchange, best time of her life she decided to stay in Korea
doring this even also comes the rivals and you should be there in Sep. they have the sports matches and they do a rival cheerleading Orientation with both schools together at the organizing uni. been there done that.

I've been circling back in this vid, whenever I'm stressed. But maybe that circling around with their arms almost having a side hug with each other, while jamming with the Uni's cheer or hymn, is like saying to each other, "We're in this together through ups and downs as comrades in this uni." And the ups and downs are the banging of the head together. Basically summing up college life. Yeah it sucks coz it's like roller coaster. But roller coaster is fun with your friends around.

I was part of the cheerleading at KU and there are 2 huge events Ipsilenti in spring and the sport match (Ko-yon Fate) in Fall its crazier you chould be when they do the cheeraleading competition or Orientation together with Yonsei (don't know if they still do it) 강추 waiting for that video^^

ㅎㅎ 당시 학생이라면 이 사회의 특권같은것이 존재 했었네 거창한 지성인이라는 고민과 고뇌들의 무거운짐을 지고 있었지요 그래서 유일한 해방구라 할가 축제 였는데 막걸리에 고래사냥을 부르며 젊음을 발산(?)했습니다
