It's quite satisfying to start with a good sized log and mill it into a big stack of lumber.

Yes it really is, I like cutting nice big logs like these. I should have it machined next week and then get my frame up in October.

I watch all of your sawmilling videos. I run a Lucas Mill and do mobile milling in BC. Do you think the Mahoe mill would do well as a mobile sawmill? It's hard for me to understand how easy the setup and move would be.

If you get the Mahoe with the trailer attachment it can be really nice. I used to mainly use a Lucas mill as well, it is nice and light and easy to put together by hand.
With the Mahoe trailer attachment you raise up the beam and then lower it onto the trailer attachment, then hook it up to the truck like a trailer and then pack up your end supports. Milling with the Mahoe is so much less tiring than running the Lucas and so quick to load because there’s no beam to go over or under.

If you want to ask any questions about it you can give me a call as well. If you search my business name on google my number should come up, I’m in Ontario

Yes, just waiting for the boards to dry and I will be taking it to get machined. Hopefully I can do that and post a video next week

Wondering between Mahoe and Turbo Saw what advantage and disadvantages each brand has? Any thoughts?

    • @SharpeTimber

I have never owned a turbo saw, but with the Mahoe and the beam design it has is is very rigid, on some videos of the turbo saw it seems like the beam is too flimsy. Also with 2 blades I can finish a board in 1 pass instead of 2.
