    I was never a Bruins fan but I was always a Stan Jonathan fan . Great guy to have on your team .

      .. Though I have never been a Bruins fan, I do like Stan Jonathan... for his courage, going up against men usually taller than him... and that Jonathan could fight good with BOTH hands.

    I was at this game as a kid and Semenko 100pct jumped O’Reilly and started throwing punches before wrestling and others jumped in! Semenko living up to his reputation!

    Back in 87, I meet Terry Oreally at a coffee shop in Hamilton during the Canada cup. He was retired then and had gained some weight. He was huge.
    I walked by him and said, go habs go and kept walking out. He just laughed.

    Stan Johnathan was the balls, best fighter in the NHL and I think he was only about 5' 9" or 5' 10" !!!

      I will never forget how he just murdered Pierre Bouchard in the playoffs ('78, I think). That was ugly. Painted the ice red.

    OReilly ‘s shoulder was gone after 1975. The trolls bash his fighting skills. He literally was playing with one arm in his latter career.

      Like others here, I also wasn't a Bruins fan. That said, I had tremendous respect for this organization, simply because these guys would not be intimidated by the Flyers back in the day. That shows character!

    I would like to see a video of Semenko and Dave Brown's back jumping fights. It would make a great vid. Neither man needed to do it, they were tough as leather. My fave Brown back jump was against Probert, who got up and beat the piss out of him, the refs had to help him get off the ice afterwards.

      One of my favorites too. Hated cheap jumper Brown. A pissed off Probert straightened him out. Also loved Lyndon Byers uppercut that put Glenn Cochrane into a near coma. His head popped up like a Pez dispenser.

      Semenko jumped anybody who could actually fight. Probert taught him a lesson in rematch as Semenko's eyes were spinning around as he stumbled to his feet.

      Don Jackson was actually a decent fighter and rugged Defenseman, no he was not a "elite heavyweight fighter type" but Don Jackson could handle himself for sure as a scrapper I wish the cameraman was 1/2 decent and we could have seen the Semenko ORielly fight... Such Good times back then the NHL of that ERA is just untouchable and entertaining as hell, night in and night out you got some passion and excitement in the games, especially the home and home back to back games, todays game is nothing but pillow tossing and very little emotion...

    Stan Jonathan wasn't even a hockey player. He could barely stand up on skates. He should have had a lifetime suspension from hockey after his first season in the NHL.

      Stan Jonathon was a great skater clown and fast. He led the entire NHL in shooting percentage at 23.9 and had 27 goals. He had a hat trick in playoff game against Montreal
