He is excellent. One of the best singers I’ve ever ever heard, some singers change their pitch frequently or go off key and this guy is a pro at maintaining his vocal perfection
I was performing with Louisiana Snake Doctors band (Fillmore South presently) at Enoch's Irish Pub & Cafe in Monroe La. a few years ago when Robert Finley was in attendance, he frequents that Pub often when he is in the area. Robert honored us by coming up on stage and performing this song with us, a couple weeks before it was even released. I love the song and really enjoyed performing it with Robert. Thank you Robert!
Robert Finley's name should be etched beside the greats of rhythm and blues, soul,
and Rockabilly. He is as good as anybody who has ever come this way, ever. God

AMEN, AMEN, AMEN!!!! BTW. his two songs-on “America’s Got Talent"-- were great, but by the third....he was WAILING (and in the final song, he showed some additional voice range that was a Killer). Robert is the personification of Soul...and he's tapped into something. I couldn't hold back the tears. I'd buy his CD in a FLASH!!

Yes, I saw more soul on AGT, but he can do mean blues as well. Incredible old school talent. He deserves to make the finals, and a decent shot to win.

Yes! I want him to do this one and "You make Me Want to Dance," both playing guitar. I saw that he was known in the South as "Guitar Slim." I love him and hope that he has gigs following AGT for the next several years even if he does not win AGT. I also hope that Simon and Gabriel help to hook him up further.
I searched out his story online and, while it is not unique, it has been very real and challenge filled. One of ten children of a Louisiana mom and pop sharecropper family, his dad was also a Baptist minister. Robert began singing at his family's church at age four, and playing guitar at 11. His father was killed in an auto accident when Robert was in his teens. He was a bandleader in Germany after then joining the Army in his teens. Upon return, he did carpentry and all around contracting because he couldn't make a living through just music. He also bought a convenience store at some point. It was thought that he would not walk again after breaking both legs in an auto accident. After a divorce, his house and mobile burned down, and then he lost his sight and ability to work at carpentry. Now a great grandfather with at least one daughter who seems to still adore him, Robert Finley HAS lived and loved his music, and he seems to be such an upbeat and kind man. Really talented songwriter, singer and guitarist; go Mr. Finley!

This man is amazing! Just imagine if he had the freedom to follow his passion starting 30 or 40 years ago. Well, at least he is able to do so NOW and we can all enjoy his one-of-a-kind talent. I'm so glad someone discovered him performing on a street corner and then steered him to the right people!!! I hope he lives for at least 20 more years, because we know he will be a Living Legend.
