hello! I am the "she" who asked the question about big buildings a while ago! thank you very much for this video! there are some precious advice! i do tend to focus on details before drawing the big lines so I end up not being able to draw the whole building in one page. again thanks a lot! :)
I always love to see the fresh color palette you choose for each painting. It's always changing, which is nice😊
You are a great teacher!!!! Loose ink lines are great and idea of not staying withing the lines is what great art is all about!!!
BIG lesson on simplicity - start with the big picture then flow into detail later. I've bookmarked this video for future reference as this is my weakness - not getting the overall picture/perspective first before diving into detail. Thanks Tech!
Hi, Teoh. Thank you for this video. It was so helpful. I'm just a beginner at pen and ink drawing and I want to do some urban sketching but did not know how to go about it. You are an excellent teacher.
This is wonderfully helpful. Thank you, Teoh. Your videos are so incredibly helpful and I’ve learned so much from you! You are a gem to all of us!
This was a very good video. Thank you for sharing your talents, Teoh.
+Will Terrell Thanks :-D
This was a very useful tutorial, Teoh. The sketches turned out very nice, too. For some reason, a number of your older videos appeared on my RUclips, which I was happy to see. Thx for all your work to produce such helpful videos. Your tutorials are among the best I’ve come across.
Thanx Teoh! Appreciate your encouragement! I watch all your videos & I learn ALOT from you. My drawings may never be perfect but I'm getting better & enjoying the process. I love your style & your videos. Thanx!
A video about composition (i.e. how to fill an empty paper) would be useful. It seems you are especially talented in composition techniques.
+Socrates Alexander Thanks. That's a good idea for a future video.
...your line and wash technique is beautiful, really love your work. Your videos are very informative and well done, thank you.
Thanks! I was always too absorbed in the detail and trying hard to draw straight lines for buildings that I forget about the whole picture in general.
+Lee Constance When you're drawing details, always keep the big picture in mind.
+Larry Gossett I do mostly pen, ink and watercolour sketches and leave them as that. They are easier to store for me.
Where may I purchase one of your original pen and wash? You have easily become my favorite content creator. Your work is very refreshing.
Another great video from you-loved all of the information. A special thanks for all of the reviews you do. I have been following your posts for a long time, and they are the ones I go to for pens, sketchbooks, etc. I was looking at the comments here, and the one where you said you don’t sale your work caught my attention. I have painted for a long time now, and people are always surprised when I say I don’t sale my work-it’s something I do for personal pleasure, which people seem to have a hard time understanding. I love hearing it from you, since you have such a large following. Thanks for everything you do share, it is very much appreciated.
Very helpful video Teoh. And the sweet birdsong was a happy bonus! 🎶🌸💕👍😄
Thanks so much for this one! Im having difficulties in drawing buildings! Thanks again!
Thank you, Teoh! This was extremely helpful. I love all your work.
Thanks 😁
Binge watching a few of your videos and I must say, I appreciate the techniques you are sharing and the way you are presenting them. I most greatly appreciate your friendly and encouraging words/tone while showing us some amazing work! Will sure to hunt for a beginner's set of watercolors this week. Thank you, Teoh!
+Archie Tolentino Thanks. 😁 I'm glad you find them helpful 🙌
Thank u very much. Ur style of drawing is inspiring. 🤩🤩🤩
Thanks for sharing your great art! I really appreciate it :)
+David Plattner Thanks 😁
Oh wow, I just spent some time practicing the techniques you presented here and I did it! Well, not nearly as good as yours, but I'm working on it. :) This is a new art venture for me and SO interesting. I simply love your style. Thank you!
I would find a demo of you drawing boats very helpful . This is a very popular subject. Buildings are no problem, because of their straight lines boats are more of a challenge for me ...thanks
your videos are so relaxing and nice to watch, thank you !
Really good to show plan and then how you used it! Ta
+Big C Thanks 😀
Tech you are such a very good artist and a great teacher!
Thank you 😁
Try as I may, I will never understand "perspective " it is a complete mystery to me. Watched a million tutorials & I just can't get it. Why oh Why is it so hard to understand? You have such artistic talent, I envy your talent. Thanx for sharing!
+Virginia Owen Don't think of it as perspective. You don't need to know perspective to draw. However knowing perspective can help you check the accuracy of your sketch.
Teoh, this is simply a wonderful tutorial. Such great explanation and beautiful sketches to illustrate (forgive the pun!) your points. You are definitely one of the most talented urban sketchers and online tutors I have happened upon.
Thanks :-)
SO teoh - when is you "how to" book coming out... please please? I will pay for it gladly!
It's too tedious to publish a book.
Teoh, thanks a bunch. The way you've demonstrated putting in the big shapes in pencil (not quite so intimidating) is such a big help. I didn't want to get pencils out but I'm now a believer. I'll do it (practice in pencil). Reading some of the other comments, I agree with everyone who talks about your quality videos. Thanks a billion. (I really don't have a billion of anything unless it would be scrapped paintings.) I need to recycle.
+Judith Meyer Thanks! When I started sketching, I used pencil but gradually just move to using ink lines instead. I still use pencils for very complicated scenes.
You know what? I think I'm going to spend the rest of this week going very basic. You have absolutely helped me with the problem of perspective, too. Now it's time to have fun!! Thanks, Teoh. I know there will still be problems, but I think if I keep practicing, someday I'll get there! Thanks, hero!!! ;-)
+Judith Meyer The more you draw, the better you get.
OK. Someday I want to belong to a group.
Judith Meyer You can search online to see if there are any Urban Sketchers group in your area.
Great video and great tips!! Shape first, details last.
Thanks, welcome ~(˘▾˘~)
Thank you very much for sharing your thought process. I'll definitely try out your suggestions this weekend :)

Great tutorial.
This video was very helpful....thanks, Teoh! :)
Thanks :-)
really informative videos :)
This was very helpful. Thank you!
Thank you sir, very inspiring clip.
+Charermpan Soonthornyankit Thanks :-D
The Church scene has a bit of curvilinear lines going to the front. And the tents also has curvilinear lines going to the front. That is interesting. A new lesson on how to do that would be cool.
Overall, the lessons are informative. Thank you for sharing your knowledge in sketching buildings.
+Katherine Calacday Curvilinear lines work better when the scene is wide and you can see two vanishing points. Usually for one point perspective, it's not necessary to use curvilinear perspective. Besides it's very difficult to detect those lines when drawing from observation. Maybe I will create a tutorial on curvilinear in the future.
+Teoh Yi Chie Thank you for the additional information. Very beautiful sketches at the last part of the tutorial. That ties up the lessons very well.
Wow! I Iike the rank of colors you pick.
+Don't Be Sad (drawing channel ) sketching and watercolor Thanks. I try not to use too many paints when mixing.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful talent Teoh i will try this today:-D
+Tasmia Mustafiz Thanks :-D
Muito Obrigada. Thank you so much
You are amazing
you are awesome!!!
May I ask what type of pen do you use?!?! It seems like the water colors doesn't smudge it! What kind is it!?!?! Ur art is amazing too!!
+Reyane Ashtar I cannot remember which pen I used. The ink is Noodlers Bulletproof black ink which is waterproof so it does not smudge with watercolour applied over it.
Very High Quality videos ! Instantly subscribed :) I have just a short question , Wacom Intuos Art , or Intuos Draw ?
+King Kaka It really depends on what bundled software you like. If you want to use your own software, and don't need the touch gestures, you can save some money by getting Intuos Draw
interesting!

thank u so much ❤
Thank you :-D
very helpful! :) thanks
I really suck at drawing any suggestions on books on urban drawing or programs
+Sammy Santiago Start with basic drawing books. I recommend Keys to Drawing by Bert Dodson. Or you can check out my online drawing courses at gumroad.com/parkablogs
Great video, thanks for sharing it! For the sketches, before using ink/pen, which is better to use: HB or 2B pencil? Thanks again for the useful video!
HB is lighter, but may be too light. Find your own preference
画的好好
Hello, what size nib does that fountain pen have?
I usually draw with Fine nib.
Teho, ya!

ghostie7790 they're lead holders, i agree they seem pretty cool
👌👽👌

your new friend Peter
+Peter Rose Hi, unfortunately I don't sell my artworks.
Please do cars and boats in perspective. I'm understanding buildings. But my cars and boats are awful. No perspective.
+jasneskis My sketching videos focus on sketching from observation, so I won't know how to draw a boat or car from perspective. However, you don't need perspective to draw boats and cars accurately in perspective. All you need is to be careful to get the proportion and measurements right. Maybe this video will give some hints at how I think ruclips.net/video/lRfa9Pat0LQ/видео.html
ty!
