@@Jordoru Negan should have realized that Season 5 Rick was still in there.
We see three character changes in Rick throughout 9 seasons. In the start he doesn't want to kill people and is honourable, and helps people. Then he goes on to leave people to die, and be ruthless. And then he gives his word easily to the Saviours and then kills them, regardless of his word.
He evolved to survive
Rick was never willing to kill a good person. That’s a line between good and bad that he never crossed. Shane, Carrol, Merle, and Negan all crossed that line. However with Shane and Carrol it’s a little hard to say if they were bad because them killing good people could have been to save more good people and then there’s Shane trying to kill Rick but I still don’t know if he would actually have gone through with it

The most underrated scene in history of televeision... Scratch that... *THE MOST AMAZING SCENE IN HISTORY OF TELEVISION*
See, this scene is so smart because it's not about post-apocalypse. This whole show, the whole world of the Walking Dead was NEVER about post-apocalypse. This scene fully cements it. The Walking Dead is about reality. Real life. What defines the reality. And all the good. And all the bad with it. Just on an isolated empty world level. Every new survivor - every new soul you meet in life is just like that. Some may be your friends, like Aaron and some people of Alexandria. Some can be evil, manpulative demons hiding underneath the human skin. Ready to play at your weaknesses, fears, sociatal norms all to make your life miserable. To elevate themselves above. TWD was always so fascinating to me. And I doubt I'll ever stop being fascinated by that world. All the comicbooks, books, games, series of TWD are just masterpieces. Apart from the seasons 8-11. Those were horrible obviously. But the true idea of TWD is just timeless really. I re-watch forever every now and then the list of: LOST, TWD, BB, GoT, TZ and Daredevil. Best and the most rewatchable tv shows out there.
This TV show learned me one thing above anything else: Stay strong folks. Especially now in this day and age. And not just strong phiscally, obviously. But mentally. That's the most imporant strength. Protect your mind, your soul and your dignity away from the dead people lurking in the shadows everywhere in this world above everything else. Learn to control your emotions. And don't trust what society shoves down your throat to make you it's slave. Live free, die with dignity.
Some Walking Dead fans believe the only bad season was season 8 and that the show dramatically improved in season 9 once Scott Gimple was no longer the showrunner. Why do you think those people are wrong?
I think your absolutely spot on in your assessment. For all of the morals/rules we have in society, which only exist so that we don’t have anarchy, people are individual survival organisms who at their very core are concerned only with their own survival. Rick’s monologue epitomises this perfectly.
Through cruel life experience, I’ve now evolved to have a precursor question when meeting people, to ask ‘In what way are you trying to survive?’
