- This has got to be the worst airline experience ever. I've never been treated with such disrespect in all of my travels. To top it all, it was not our fault we missed our connecting flight. The plane left late from Cape Town, arrived late in Addis Ababa, and then the connecting flight left without us. But the airline refused to take accountability. We lost so much on this trip because our hotel bookings were cancelled with no refund. We also had day trips planned and wouldn't get a refund on that. But the airline had a very never minded attitude.

I’m a bit confused with your itinerary how did you get from Singapore to ADISABaBa ? Then to Tokyo ? There are direct flights to South Africa from Singapore 🇸🇬. Done that several times. I was under the impression you were headed to CT directly.
😅unfortunately, These things happen on airlines . If you get put on another flight sometimes they bump you up to business class 😊.Travel insurance can help with these issues.
Maybe best to Book another flight with another airline and claim a refund.
Airport management can’t do much , booking is done with the airline itself.
Another route that’s good value is South Africa to Dubai and Dubai to wherever.

I hear u. We have travel insurance, but unfortunately the tickets on Ethiopian airlines were non refundable. I left Vietnam and went back to Cape Town for few weeks. Candice and I then travelled from Cape Town to Tokyo via Addis Ababa. Those were the cheapest flights, but in retrospect, given what we’ve experienced, we shoulda used a different airline. Yeah, these things happen, but I didn’t like the treatment and disrespect they’ve shown. They wouldn’t allow me to film our conversations and threatened to arrest us. Those conversations would haven given you the full picture.
@@ExploringDMT Aha now that’s clearer . I used to fly joburg Dubai Auckland and that’s a cheaper route too . Plenty of experience with African airlines when we we we there, and it’s all the same story. Best avoid all of them , although Ethiopian airways is reported to have a large fleet of modern aircraft for some unknown reason . I understand even the South African based airlines are in poor shape these days . Good luck with your travels. By the way Air Asia will take your money and not provide a flight, watch out for them aswell.takes months to get a refund and no customer service .
@@ExploringDMT haha right now I get it . All these trips are quite disorienting . My daughter is flying to Japan in November so I will interested to see more . From what I can see Ethiopia are trying to be like Dubai-Emirates and be an African airline hub . Shall be interesting to watch what happens. It’s bad news when your treated badly.

What are you guys children - 35 minutes for an international connection - you are very lucky the airline treated you with respect and provided accommodation - they should not have done that. LOL - I just cannot believe how silly you guys were ???

Absolutely. I was rooting for them for the longest time. But this was unacceptable. And they showed no compassion for our situation.
