For your average player, this is going to be an endgame weapon, you have to have decent gear and weapons plus tools and potions, you need to know how to trade with villagers and all that stuff.
I think the way you have to be higher than the mob you are fighting makes up for the fact you can get it pretty easily. Plus it's a reward for taking on a more difficult challenge, and the one you can't really easily cheese or autofarm, so i think it's fair as is right now.
Woah this is the first I've seen of this update - this is sick! The god apple drop rate is kinda crazy. I started a new hardcore world a few days ago and I already have all the gear I will ever need on the world, Minecraft's progression goes so fast when you know the game and I always kinda crave more. This update looks super fun!
Not just this, Trial Chambers as a structure are made *intentionally* to be a mid-game structure, adding another common effect (Bad Omen) doesn't make Ominous Trial Chambers more on the farther side of the progression, the only late-game thing about Maces is how powerful it is-- trivializing every enemy in this game.
@@user-tzzglsstle585e38the mace is not powerful enough to "trivialize every enemy." You need a height advantage and a clear shot to get good damage on an enemy, and that is pretty hard to pull off on many mobs, even with wind charges. Sure it can one-shot enemies by themselves, but real combat scenarios get much more complicated that that
@@supermagma No it isn't, PvE in particular; it's SERIOUSLY not hard to land a good hit with a Mace when ALL (except those that flies or swims) mobs tend to stand right below you when you are at a higher height because the AI in this game is so primitive-- making it easy for you to align any mob to a place it's easier to hit them. The only time "real combat scenario" has any weight in this argument is in PvP Edit: What's even crazier is the two Boss Mobs that flies here aren't even that much different, Ender Dragon perches in the middle making their movement extremely predictable which gives you a large window to 1-hit them, and Java Withers are one of the dumbest mobs ever since they just either try to go above you no matter what (which you can prevent them from doing with an elytra/riptide) or they get easily distracted by other mobs and stay still-- also giving you a chance to 1 hit them. The only mob which this isn't the case even *remotely* are Wardens solely due to their high hp, even then; simply having full Netherite (not that hard to get) or some [normal] golden apples with Maces and Wind Charges is enough to deal with Wardens face to face.
Protip: wear leather boots to walk on powdered snow. Wear any other leather armor to negate the freezing damage if you do sink, which you will if you dont wear leather boots. Also Phantoms make for good target practice. Fite me ;)
something about the mace is that it’s not just tedious to get, but also incredibly situational. how often are you getting the jump on something from 3+ blocks above them, and how accurate is your hit gonna be on a moving target?
Enchantments and wind charges makes it a weapon so powerful that only crystal pvp can match up to it. Watch some mace pvp videos, you can hit a target actively running away full speed and combo them. Doing enough damage to instantly kill someone with full prot 4 nephrite armor easily.
Loved this video man. Truly feels fresh. No flashing subtitles, edits, explosions, just chill minecraft gameplay. You got straight to the point of the video and progressed through nicely. Immediate sub. Keep up the awesome work man!
Yes. Of course. Normal people in single player mode (where you want to have fun and survive) would go to a internet website and search for structures...
Three hours of grinding seems like an ok amount, and imo plenty of people grind for everything except slime chunks without chunckbase, more so if there is an ingame map
tbf this is just a general issue with minecraft progression. It's weird and non-linear, so anyone can pretty much get ANY item in the game if you dedicate yourself to it in a couple of hours.
It's heavily down to rng. You get the heavy core about 1/12 times so you'll likely have to go through multiple trial chambers to get it. But you could get it first try.
Though its hard to get, the fact that you can get diamonds, notch apples, and other great loot while grinding for the mace makes it a much more realistic weapon. Now if you want great loot, you can rush the end, or one of these things
Bruh my buddy and I did like 15 of these and haven’t gotten the heavy core yet. I thought it’s like an 8% chance from the ominous wards, but doesn’t seem like it to me. At this point Ive just messed around with the mace on creative and said forget it. Your fighting skills are legendary btw, great video.
I like how Enchanted Golden Apple was made less rare because of it. But honestly, the Mace isn’t that good. It’s novelty. It’s like a trident… you might need it for some uses. But it’s nowhere near as important to put it into a rare reward tier of a more difficult Trial Chamber tier which is in itself finicky to trigger.
Trial chambers are really op even without the heavy core as they still provide with a bunch of notch apples, emeralds, enchantments, and diamonds(sometimes enchanted diamond gear)
@@user-tzzglsstle585e38 the 1 hit boss thing with a setup more difficult than just killing the enderdragon with a normal sword. The density enchantment doesn't change that fact. In pvp you can only 1-hit unsuspecting victims, good luck getting a moving target, which is something a end-cristal can do too And 5 hits to kill a fully armored player is finally fast enough that people don't just can keep eating golden apples to offset the damage. That's very strong, but still less than the damage of an end crystal.
@@bytezero3818 The density enchantment DOES in fact change that, since the setup (which barely requires any) MASSIVELY reduces the amount of block you need to use and fall from-- which also massively reduces the risk. And this doesn't change the fact that being able to 1-hit a Boss is just bad game design by itself, especially considering this item isn't even that much harder to get compared to other rare items like Beacons (from Wither Skulls). Remember; Ender Dragons and Withers aren't even updated yet which they 100% plan to do, so that excuse isn't even gonna hold up in the long run. Think more outside the box because Maces literally limits the variation of mobs and bosses they can add in the future if they ever want to add something actually challenging, by forcing them to only have 1 movement type as to not be a trivial mob to take down because of the Mace If you ACTUALLY played with anyone with a Mace before, this one is just straight up not true. You only need to drop from 2-3Blocks (a common elevation) to 1 hit kill a fully-geared player with Strength II, if there's no elevation; you can always use Wind Charge to go up 2-3 Blocks which aren't as easy to "simply move away" from. Even without Strength II, it's completely possible to nearly 1-hit a Player from just 7 Blocks with Wind Charges even if they are moving, it's not as hard as people here are claiming considering you yourself can move mid-air and you still have 3 blocks of range Not only that; the fact that it makes Netherite Swords and Axes completely obsolete is again-- bad game design, because even with End Crystals; both Swords and Axes still have use cases in PvP, now there's no reason to use them at all (Not to mention; End Crystals are completely impractical in PvE) Either way, just because there's already an awfully balanced weapon that exists doesn't mean there should be another one. Also, they already have combat experiments that are actually well balanced solving the DPS issue we have now, using "people don't just can keep eating golden apples to offset the damage" is simply a lazy excuse for a badly balanced weapon and will not hold up inevitably, so they might as well balance it now so there's not gonna be a bigger backlash in the future. I brought up the future a lot here, this is because Minecraft is a long-term game and decisions that works out in the long run are much better than short-sighted features that are only good at the moment, otherwise; you get broken features like Anvils, 1.9 combat, etc.
the best argument for why its too easy to get would come from comparing it to the previous best melee weapon, the netherite axe i am a freak of nature and speedrun getting endgame gear before i even have a decent house, i usually play with one other person, i task them with going for obsidian, sheep farm and wood, whilst i go out looking for villages to farm their beds but also make a start on a villager breeder within 30 minutes i will be in the nether spamming beds for netherite, the hardest part about netherite is getting to the correct y level without running into lava on your way down, after that, especially with the wood and wool farm done and the other person going for diamonds, we will have full netherite before the hour ends alone it would take me around an hour, with a duo, i know it will always be under 1 hour this was pre update. with the new update it is weirdly hard to get netherite, when the most notable upgrade is simply that it wont burn in lava. its basically diamond gear that you cant lose in lava. comparing that to the mace which you could very easily get within a 1 hour window if you use an online map to find the chambers like a sane human being and honestly, getting it within 1 hour is something i know i could guarantee, especially given that you dont really need to loot up beforehand
@@niesn its honestly very easy if you focus directly on it as your first objective, if i do it solo i will have netherrite before i have diamonds for the netherrite, since it tends to be easier but yeah this is far too big of a jump, from barely better to diamond to being able to one shot anything is absurd
FYI with the water bucket clutch trick, you don't need to time the use on it. You can simply hold right click while looking down and it'll automatically clutch doing so.
@@doge_69 Because being able to kill stuff quickly doesn't actually amount to much in terms of progress. If you care about killing a certain mob as quickly as possible then getting the mace is slower than doing it through other methods and if you want a large amount of resources your time would be better spent building farms.
@@niesn it does, great stuff always comes from hard work,if you ever find yourself demotivated or slowing down just remember the light at the end of the tunnel, that light is ur inevitable success
I feel like mace would ruin the use of swords and axes completely. Although there are some counters to the mace such as shields, shields are very easy to break and its easy to get hit with your back turned on them. Plus, if you have the enchantment, the mace will just keep jumping and hitting you until your shield breaks. A good method to escape this is probably pearling away but you can only have 16 of them in a stack. Imagine a fight where its just ppl pearling over and over again. If it runs out, then its really bad. This really encourages the use of mace over axe and sword which basically makes the mace the meta. I know there is a use of axe to disable shields with but the axe just serves that one purpose. What if the mace doesn't do more damage than a sword unless you jump from high enough to give a purpose to the sword. What if there's a direct counter to maces unlike pearls. I thought of breeze balls having a second feature that can be used to dodge in the horizontontal(to not make it too op) direction you are looking, such as a jett dash. I think this would be more reliable than pearls since you don't take damage and also have more stackability during a fight. It also activates instantly so you don't need more reaction time to use it unlike pearls. This would counter the mace completely and make the players resort to swords and shields if they wanna do damage. I wouldn't want a new weapon to be countered completely but this would be helpful when the enemy is eating, not moving, or just caught of guard. The weapon is op and I think it would def have a use with these changes. Thats just my idea.
Holy. Honestly, these are all really good ideas. But I don't think the devs are gonna change anything. And also, I think ppl will come up with some good counters over time. We'll see

Me and my friend on our personal, vanilla world, got it in our first chamber, on the DAY of the release of the update. It needs to be more rare... Now we were in diamond gear, and there was two of us, but we got it like the 2nd Vault where you get the heavy core, it REALLY needs to be more rare in my opinion.
You claim it's op because it can one-shot bosses, but you might be forgetting the amount of setup that takes and the fact that if you miss (pretty likely) you just hit the ground and die.
honestly most "late game" things in Minecraft can be cheesed hard, this is one of the less egregious examples imo (like... its still harder than what you would have to do to beat the game in 20 minutes). I don't think most of the player base will be doing this willy nilly.
I havent played minecraft since 2015, i dont even know what an elytra is. A couple of days ago i decided to do a hardcore 1.21.1 run and found trial chamber and crafted a mace in less than two hours. Its actually crazy how fast can you get diamonds now with the new cave generation.
maybe its easy to get if you plan it out before hand and focus entirely on it since you make the world, but if youre not seeking it out directly you simply will not find a trial chamber without alot of luck and i think that makes it fairly tricky to get, even if you get a trial chamber youre not guaranteed one like you showed
Listen I just started playing minecraft again for the first time in over 10 years. I have been building and debugging a 20 minute iron farm for 2 days now. I get scared when I enter caves and basically every time when I encounter more than one evil mob. No way would I survive those battles so easily. XD From a noob's perspective you are severely underestimating your fighting abilities.
1:55 you can get the bottle by playing through the trial chamber as well, i got one earlier today but cant remember if it was from an enemy drop or using a key.
you can skip the villager trading part by using the pie chart, I found one in 10 min with no other structures nearby. Ominous bottles can also be dropped from trial spawners and vaults.
Now see, I like the idea of the vaults giving you big dumps of loot as a reward, but honestly the inventory is just too small to actually make it work efficiently. Mojang needs to either make inventory easier to sort/move so that the space you do have is more usable, or just give us more inventory space, because i absolutely hate standing in a pile of items chucking stuff until i pick up what i want
I _don't_ think its too easy to get... Because its based entirely on RNG. Making it rarer would exponentially make it worse and worse to get, because already it can take ages to find one if your luck is bad enough.
@@niesn this is why I decided to get an elytra, port 4 maxed dia gear and a shulker box full of 9 stacks of emeralds, 20 compasses and cartography tables, glass panes, etc.

I think so too, best update in a few years
2:03
"Was that Skylanders Giants music? That's pretty cool- WAS THAT TOAD'S FACTORY?!"
The problem is, the mace TECHNICALLY is an end game weapon, but due to Minecraft's sandbox nature, the progression is all over the place.
The only time "real combat scenario" has any weight in this argument is in PvP
Edit: What's even crazier is the two Boss Mobs that flies here aren't even that much different, Ender Dragon perches in the middle making their movement extremely predictable which gives you a large window to 1-hit them, and Java Withers are one of the dumbest mobs ever since they just either try to go above you no matter what (which you can prevent them from doing with an elytra/riptide) or they get easily distracted by other mobs and stay still-- also giving you a chance to 1 hit them.
The only mob which this isn't the case even *remotely* are Wardens solely due to their high hp, even then; simply having full Netherite (not that hard to get) or some [normal] golden apples with Maces and Wind Charges is enough to deal with Wardens face to face.

something about the mace is that it’s not just tedious to get, but also incredibly situational. how often are you getting the jump on something from 3+ blocks above them, and how accurate is your hit gonna be on a moving target?
yeah that's very true
Enchantments and wind charges makes it a weapon so powerful that only crystal pvp can match up to it. Watch some mace pvp videos, you can hit a target actively running away full speed and combo them. Doing enough damage to instantly kill someone with full prot 4 nephrite armor easily.

Not really. Mace is very good. Mace is different to trident and is more important than sword and axe. You just have some massive skill issues.
Trial chambers are really op even without the heavy core as they still provide with a bunch of notch apples, emeralds, enchantments, and diamonds(sometimes enchanted diamond gear)
Can’t wait to see how the Vanilla PvP community to find crazy PvP tactics with the mace

yeah, I respect that. And thanks :)
I think it was fine until the windburst nerf
Except the 1-hit boss thing and the Density Enchantment, oh and the Breach Enchantment.
@@user-tzzglsstle585e38 the 1 hit boss thing with a setup more difficult than just killing the enderdragon with a normal sword.
The density enchantment doesn't change that fact.
In pvp you can only 1-hit unsuspecting victims, good luck getting a moving target, which is something a end-cristal can do too
And 5 hits to kill a fully armored player is finally fast enough that people don't just can keep eating golden apples to offset the damage.
Think more outside the box because Maces literally limits the variation of mobs and bosses they can add in the future if they ever want to add something actually challenging, by forcing them to only have 1 movement type as to not be a trivial mob to take down because of the Mace
If you ACTUALLY played with anyone with a Mace before, this one is just straight up not true.
You only need to drop from 2-3Blocks (a common elevation) to 1 hit kill a fully-geared player with Strength II, if there's no elevation; you can always use Wind Charge to go up 2-3 Blocks which aren't as easy to "simply move away" from.
Even without Strength II, it's completely possible to nearly 1-hit a Player from just 7 Blocks with Wind Charges even if they are moving, it's not as hard as people here are claiming considering you yourself can move mid-air and you still have 3 blocks of range
Not only that; the fact that it makes Netherite Swords and Axes completely obsolete is again-- bad game design, because even with End Crystals; both Swords and Axes still have use cases in PvP, now there's no reason to use them at all (Not to mention; End Crystals are completely impractical in PvE)
Either way, just because there's already an awfully balanced weapon that exists doesn't mean there should be another one.
Great job on this video man, reallly enjoyed it. Keep it up and God bless 💪

yoooo, thank you so much :)
i think whats more concerning is you could get diamond and notch apples from killing a few skelebones
Yea lol
Honestly this would make an epic speedrun category
it would be very interesting
the best argument for why its too easy to get would come from comparing it to the previous best melee weapon, the netherite axe
i am a freak of nature and speedrun getting endgame gear before i even have a decent house, i usually play with one other person, i task them with going for obsidian, sheep farm and wood, whilst i go out looking for villages to farm their beds but also make a start on a villager breeder
within 30 minutes i will be in the nether spamming beds for netherite, the hardest part about netherite is getting to the correct y level without running into lava on your way down, after that, especially with the wood and wool farm done and the other person going for diamonds, we will have full netherite before the hour ends
alone it would take me around an hour, with a duo, i know it will always be under 1 hour
this was pre update. with the new update it is weirdly hard to get netherite, when the most notable upgrade is simply that it wont burn in lava. its basically diamond gear that you cant lose in lava.
comparing that to the mace which you could very easily get within a 1 hour window if you use an online map to find the chambers like a sane human being and honestly, getting it within 1 hour is something i know i could guarantee, especially given that you dont really need to loot up beforehand
bro wrote a whole book lmao
and yes, excatly, thank you. Also full netherite in under 1 hour is insane dude
@@niesn its honestly very easy if you focus directly on it as your first objective, if i do it solo i will have netherrite before i have diamonds for the netherrite, since it tends to be easier
but yeah this is far too big of a jump, from barely better to diamond to being able to one shot anything is absurd
2:34 Is that the song in Cutthroat Carnival from Skylanders? God, I haven't played that game in ages.

FYI with the water bucket clutch trick, you don't need to time the use on it. You can simply hold right click while looking down and it'll automatically clutch doing so.
huh, really? I've gotta test that
let's be honest here. no one is gonna speedrun getting a mace that fast unless they're one of those sweats that only plays pvp based smps.
that's true
There will definitely be a speed run category for it
Considering how overpowered this item is, why wouldn't they?
@@doge_69 Because being able to kill stuff quickly doesn't actually amount to much in terms of progress. If you care about killing a certain mob as quickly as possible then getting the mace is slower than doing it through other methods and if you want a large amount of resources your time would be better spent building farms.

We'll see

Oh, right
before the mace was revealed, I had a feeling they were gonna add a new weapon
Now see, I like the idea of the vaults giving you big dumps of loot as a reward, but honestly the inventory is just too small to actually make it work efficiently. Mojang needs to either make inventory easier to sort/move so that the space you do have is more usable, or just give us more inventory space, because i absolutely hate standing in a pile of items chucking stuff until i pick up what i want
I _don't_ think its too easy to get... Because its based entirely on RNG. Making it rarer would exponentially make it worse and worse to get, because already it can take ages to find one if your luck is bad enough.
