very helpful rundown here for certain league arrangements. and i didn't mean to be a smart-ass about pronouncing Silovs lol, but you were good about it. Cheers man, your vids are outstanding and you have a rational approach to evaluating player potentials.
I got markstrom in the middle rounds of the draft and was able to snag both Hill and Kuemper in late rounds. 10 man points league but I really like my potential with those three. Great video as always!
goalies are Ullmark (89th overall) Sorokin (129th overall) & Kuempher (256th overall) like where i got them, plus options in FA still. 12 man league as well.
@@turnbucklemagazine7296 yeah I agree. I just have a lot of faith in modern medicine now a days, plus with him still being so young. At the adp I got him, fairly risk free for the most part. But I do agree with back issues being tricky.
I have a pretty strong goalie tandem so far for a 12 man points league. I had Sorokin as a keeper, then snagged Wolf at 229th. I also picked up Nedeljkovic after the draft to fill in for Sorokin’s injury.
I also want to mention that I feel pretty confident the Bruins get a deal done with Swayman before opening night. I have been hammering the draft button on him because he keeps falling to me at a sick price.
I'm actually in the opposing camp, I think there's a good likelihood Korpisalo runs with it and the standoff lasts until the last minute, and so am fading unless he drops to like...pick 70 or so
If you don't mind I'd love to see a video from you explaining what your favorite league scoring settings are and why. I'm a commissioner and I always feel like the scoring could be tweaked. Right now it's pretty similar to the league you're in with your highschool buddies.
I wanted to play 0 goalies style in my 14 team 29 round draft. I thought it was key to load up on points guys when you can have 2r,2l,2c and 5f as well as 2 utility guys per night as well as 6 D. I faded D in fact as well. I used them for later round picks like Lauzen, Big z and WiFi, of course in a league this big PM is a cat. Somebody actually to Shesterkin in the second round lol, and I got nervice thinking holy crap are goalies going to fly off already. They started in about more the 4th though. I was really happy to get Markstrom at that point, then later I think 7 took Ingram, then way later Monty and Fleury. I'm happy with that being how the cats are saves, wins, GAA, and save %. I figure I'll do fine on wins and saves and even if I am middle of the pack or a little less even in % and GAA, I'll be fine. I got 9th pick and my first 3 guts were M,Tkachuk, J,Hughes, and Point. I think all 3 should be at least 90 point players even if 2 have crappy peripherals in PM,hit, and blocks.
My strategy is to draft one workhorse and then late-draft backups on good teams that play many back-to-backs. I picked up Ottenginer and then followed up with late picks in Stolarz (the Leafs play the most back-to-backs) and Knight (Florida plays 14 back-to-backs).
Ya definitely depends on league settings though. If I'm in a points league I am not drafting Stolarz or Knight at all unless I was in like a 18 team league
@@firedupfantasy 16 league here. So that aligns. I think stolarz is underrated and has a chance to play more games than woll this season. I could be dead wrong tho
My league is a categories league. I have to fill 3C, 3LW, 3RW, 4 defense, 4 bench, 2G. Do I target defense early? Or forwards? Do I fade goalies? 12 team, H2H, G, A, P, PPP, SOG, HIT, BLK, PIM
Fade Goalies in CATS leagues. Get later guys and if they don't work out, use the wire and stream them. You also should get more forwards early considering all those spots. Target the defensemen in later rounds who put up sick shots, hits, and blocks EDIT: with that being said though if you are smart enough and can find value at forward later I always love drafting guys like Dahlin/Sergachev/Weegar who will fill all categories. Play the board and find value
How high would you draft a goalie in a league with 8 goalie categories and 8 skater? In my league GAA/SV% is so important, but so is volume as games started matters, as well as wins, saves, etc.
Is there a big difference between ESPN and Yahoo that favors Yahoo more? My 2nd year playing on ESPN mainly because my friend hosts a league on there and I've got no complaints, but its hard to not notice almost every Fantasy content creator uses Yahoo. Also our league does H2H Most Cats with W/SA/SV/GAA/SV% so goalies with volume matter in our cat league but I don't think that's ESPNs default settings.
I like him more in a category league than points. Grubauer still has a hefty contract and they are incentivized to play him to justify his contract so the volume might not be there. Goes super late though so it's not the riskiest pick
I've also noticed that Dostal had the same "profile" as Daccord, the only thing is that Dostal is younger and Seattle will be a way better team than Anaheim (imo)
In a category league (W,L, GA,GAA, SV%, SO) and ended up with Markstrom and Talbot. Any tips on a better goalie than Talbot? Avail- Seattle tandem, Philly, most back ups etc
@@hopdaddy94 ERSSON!! [PHI] .....INGRAM is a reasonable grab as well. Utah will excel this season. THOMPSON in WSH, KOCHETKOV [CAR] might be a sneaky good performer as a 1)a option. ...bro i'd get Ersson asap cuz DET has like 3-4 goalies tumbling around. but if u love Talbot, meh...
@@HelloTygr Yes i would be receiving Tkachuk. My league doesn't value faceoffs though. it's .1 for a sog and hit and 1 for a goal 2 for an assist and an extra .5 for a powerplay point
Where to take Landeskog and Nichuskin in a 12 team bangers league with 3C, 3LW, 3RW, 4 defense, 4 bench, 2G? 12 team, H2H, G, A, P, PPP, SOG, HIT, BLK, PIM
I disagree about drafting a tandem in a points leauge. I do that alot and it works well for me. And ill never draft a goalie on a bad team, i would draft a goalie late who plays on a good team. I appreciate the video but i disagree on so many points.

Drafted Demko at 71 and picked up Silovs right away. Binner for volume and Kochetkov very late…points league and feeling good

Not sure about Sorokin because of the back issue because it can linger and lead to a long recovery until he is 100% even if he's playing.

Hard to say brother, which I could give specifics but with so many different league settings I can't give a realistic answer to that
@firedupfantasy how do you rank Point, Thompson, Aho and Bedard in a banger league without blocks? Thanks
If your league heavily values shots then Thompson, Bedard, Point, Aho

What would you think about me trading away binnington and Chabot for saros (Walman is on the waiver wire and I would grab him to replace chabot)
I like that a lot
Easy yes
Don’t you think it’s smart to take Koch as insurance? Considering Freddie is 35 and injury prone.
Cats league - Bennington or Silvos or annunan?
Silvos or Annunen, Binner is not worth it at his price. Stream goalies as well
