That Strehler is a whole lot of horology for the money! I just wished they offered more color combinations. Some of the other stuff, I'm going to need to hit the lottery to afford. I currently own a Lang & Heyne Hektor, but the one I'd really love to own is the Georg. Here's to hoping we get more interesting pieces from Mr. Lang.
Strehler did the perpetual calendar movement for Moser and he also did an amazing chronograph movement for Maurice Lacroix based off the Venus 175 calibre.
Great video Bill. My problem is I like all of them and I can't make up my mine, so I'm going to have to pass on all of them. 😆 All kidding aside, one of the common themes I see from these extraordinary watchmakers is the unbelievable movements that they create. My favorite is the Cal. 912 used in the Bernhard Lederer Central Impulse Chronometer. Best regards, Brian
Hi Brian...it's also why we had to create Lyrique! If we can just pry Étude N°2 into existence, we'd have a watch with a movement that is equal among those 11 shown. Take care, Bill
Hey Bill 👋 All interesting picks. These stood out for me: 1. Laurent Ferrier / Classic Origin (darn right I'd make an offer -- _hypothetically_ ). _The onion crown looks like a pleasure to use, too._ 2. Bernhard Lederer / Central Impulse Chronometer _Wow! A guy can dream..._ 3. Strehler / Sirna _I don't mind waiting a year or even two. It's quite appealing and attainable(ish)._ 4. Armin Strom / Regulator Earth _Neat pick! I'm surprised you can own an Armin Strom for $6K._ 5. Voutelainen / Vingt-8 _Another completely face-melting watch! Beautiful view from both sides._ Thanks, good sir.
@@watchartsci That one stands out for me as well, for being the most affordable watch that really spoke to me. I also would like a small loan of 20K CHF, but YES. 👍

Hi PB-there's something more 'artful' about lower frequency watches, but mainly because the top watchmakers seem to prefer lower frequency timing. This video helps explain it: ruclips.net/video/NX9vQRC_hh4/видео.htmlsi=xwqmQpzSmRMi82FU Take care, Bill

One of the best watchsI have got is BLU Galaxy ref 62/281.10.9/D calibre BL 706. I Have a piece unique due to it being the only 42mm with a steal bracelet. And it is vary comfortable on the wrist and I can see the dail for hours. Would recommend to buy they are getting rare these days.
@@watchartsciHi Bill. Not myself, but I do know others who have. Also, I noticed that they list many highly coveted watches at MSRP, when in reality those watches are going to multiples of their MSRP. For example, a particular A. Lange was listed for its MSRP of $30k, when everyone else in the world was asking for at least double that. They don’t stock a lot of those coveted pieces, and they don’t bother keep the prices of those pieces up to date.
Great selection! I have watches from a couple of these brands from when they were much cheaper than they are today, love them but I'm not a repeat customer at today's prices.... except for the voutilainen. Styles, innovations, complications will come and go, he is building true forever watches. Maybe just Voutilainen and Roger Smith making watches really focused on lasting many lifetimes.
There is something I can't describe about Laurent Ferrier, their watches are not super complicated but have a certain "vibe" to them, classic yet modern, you just know these watches will never be dated and are always ready to go. Can't say that to 99% of the watches in the upper echelon. However, i think their signature assegai hands should only remain in a Laurent Ferrier, other brands shouldn't even try using them.
Your pronunciation of zweigesicht-1 is something else! That goes from the boring correct "tswai kesikt eints" to the 'murica Bill Sanders "zaive shits one".
Your name would be something else to pronounce Yamayamauchiman. Now that you've corrected my pronunciation; what can you tell us about horology? Take care, Bill
Bill, I like your taste in watches (silicon notwithstanding 😜). Sign me up for a triple buy: Gauthier (grey dial), Gronefeld (salmon dial) and Ferrier (navy blue dial). Now, about my portfolio...😭
Hi James, Angelus is an interesting brand. The original brand was founded in 1891, but what they have today, while having some of the brand's heritage is part of a more complex chain. Around 2015 La Joux Perret bout the brand, and LJP is owned by the Japanese company, Citizen. (La Joux Perret originally was Jaquet, SA, but Jean-Pierre Jaquet had to go to prison, and so Jaquet, SA was renamed La Joux Perret so the disgraced "Jaquet" name would not be associated with the company.) I find the new Angelus an interesting brand, but their entry level watch (while a horological beauty) doesn't seem to get much traction in the GPHG. Their Instrument de Vitesse watch is one I like. It's a chronograph and while I do not like chronographs, this monopusher is a delight with a clear dial used as a 60-second timer without cluttering up the dial. Take care, Bill
I saw a vertical double tourbillon watch by Speake-Marin not much imo about pricing mostly price request but seem a ride gold version for 335 000$ smackaroos Nice watch but obviously to expensive for me 😢
Hello Bill. It’s not my intention to take a “cheap shot” at these timepieces, or your personal taste. I am strictly offering up my opinion. Upon reviewing your video, I can honestly say that the Laurent Ferrier is perhaps the only watch I’d consider wearing. I respect what each manufacturer offers when it comes to their respective movements and finishing, however, I suppose I am not their target audience when it comes to aesthetics. Like with any object, art form, or otherwise, we’re all of different minds and/or trajectory. Perhaps one day I’ll come around. Thank you for doing what you do.
@@pete5534 Funny thing about Laurent Ferrier watches is that while I too am a big fan of their designs, when I tried some on at Cellini's on Park Ave in NYC, they didn't feel like the have the 'heft' of quality watches. I was told that the ones with titanium and/or steel do feel very light but the gold and platinum ones had the heft I expect in a high quality watch. Next time I try one on, I better not take my platinum (heavy) FPJ CS! We all have varied tastes in watches and I doubt you'd care to hear one you own watches described as 'ostentatious & gaudy.'
