Hi Bill, Thank you for your wonderful videos. They are always instructive, inspiring and insightful! 55 year, lady watch enthusiast... The Patek 3590J is the only Patek watch I would ever consider owning. The rest, no thanks, Especially the new Cubitus. I love the traditions of a yellow gold, white face, manual-wind with Roman numerals. Watchmaking should be about honoring tradition and heritage. My favorite for 45 years has been Piaget. Nothing else comes close in terms of quality, and that includes the so-called "Holy Trinity". Ultrathin movements are simply amazing, and no house does it better than Piaget. By the way, the movement for the Polo at the end of the video, that is produced entirely in-house as Piaget, even though a member of the Richemont Group since the mid 1980's, is a genuine "Manufacturer, namely all it's watches, and their components are made in-house. Thanks again!
Bill, Excellent content and information on watches. Most on youtube are salesman promoting clicks and personal goals. Valuable information as a hobbyist is refreshing! BTW I just bought an Blvgari octo roma on a strap for $2500.
I like these references. For under 8k or so i would like to add Habrings. For higher horology you can get into some Vacheron Constantin Malte, Daniel Roth Retrograde 807.L.10, and excellent Breguets.
Harbring2s are a straight-forward brand of watches, Doc, but they don't see themselves as HH nor do others. They're still my favorite all around brand for collectors, though. Take care, Bill
@@watchartsci True, they are not HH, but I think could be a great lead in towards HH and Independents. The jumping seconds, foudroyante, and doppel 38 have a wonderful movements for the price. Thanks for everything Bill!
Fantastic choices here. Amazing watches for reasonable prices considering what you get for the money. My picks are the Saxonia and the chopard. I would also consider the quai de l’ile by Vacheron. I like the inclusion of Hermes I am not so enamoured with the Roma but I understand why it’s there Cheers 🍻
As a female watch collector, most of the time, watch videos give me little, if any useful information. I greatly appreciate the AP and Vacheron Constantin suggestions. I’ve been trying to find something to fall in love with AP and I just can’t help of thinking of the Royal Oak as nothing more than a friend…lol. The overseas intrigues me. My problem with VC is that I love everything and my wandering eye keeps looking at the unattainable. Now I may have a more reasonable option to weigh and consider.
Nadia, for some very interesting women's watches, also check out Bovet. Likewise, the women's watches of Moritz Grossmann are gorgeous. Take care, Bill
Same price as the discontinued steel Nautilus with many visual similarities but different enough to not harm the retained value of the Nautilus or Aquanaut. So sensible move. But *ugly*
Hey Blue, some are and some are not. I may have the wrong reference number...The correct reference number for a white gold; white dial PF Tonda 1950 is PFC267-1202400. Take care, Bill
@@watchartsci Thanks Bill. I think my next watch purchase will be on my trip to Tokyo in February. I hear they have a robust watch market there. I love your content! It's very helpful. - Stephen

Hi Bill, I've noticed you've picked the Piaget Polo S as a preferred entry level high horology piece a few times. I'm interested jn what you think about the GP Laureato. It's priced in the same league as the Polo. BTW, l like all your picks and then some, there are far too many nice watches for my thin wallet and single wrist. Take care. Raymond
Hi Bill, you're right. I have a lifetime hearing loss, and while I love French, I have a terrible time pronouncing it correctly, and god knows my German may be worse! My Spanish is much better, though. Take care, Bill
Very interesting professor. Weren’t some of them exceptional horology with limited numbers produced? Or all were mass produced but with high horology movements?
Well, Lex, the GO PanoInverse with the double swan neck regulator, yes, but most of the others have been victims of Swatch's goal to put silicon hairsprings in them all. (Maybe for a gateway for a Patek Philippe...) Take care, Bill
In your opinion and experience, will automatic and quartz watches disappear and smart watches will rise, or will automatic watches remain stronger than smart watches and will remain and not disappear??????
It is hard to say. It is highly likely that smart watches will continue to gain popularity in their current form, and the most popular watch in the world right now is the Apple Watch. Among collectors, mechanical watches in many forms will continue for pretty much the same reasons they do today. We all have mobile devices with perfect time; so the mechanical watch is an artifact of an earlier micro-mechanical technology. Take care, Bill

Where are you finding the Lange under $10k?! Would love to know!
I searched and I couldn’t find on CH24 the cheapest one was 15k

Bill, excellent video. Provided me with a few new things to seek. I’d add the 3919 Patek, similar to the one you show but sub seconds. Thank you.
The 3919 is a beautiful piece, indeed Paul. Take care, Bill
Chopard LUC and Schwarz Etienne are great entrypoint into HH in my opinion. Can find some great deals for both brands online.
You are right HRM, I should have included Schwarz Etienne, especially for the hand-wound double barrel in parallel models. Take care, Bill
Thanks Bill. A great selection. That Chopard and the Jules Audemars really appeal to me
Both good choices. One of the main things to look for, Shadow, is the right size. Take care, Bill
