  • Feb. 2nd day after midwest blizzard. The plow is dated 1956, and until last year it hadn't been mounted on a grader in 25 years. Cobbled together a mounting system in a couple days and was out plowing, still needs work but it gets the job done for now. Works alot better now that they painted it, it was rusty last year and the snow didn't flow off the wings very well. Sorry about the rattles, the tire chains cause alot of vibration.

    how refreshing to watch an EXPERIENCED operator...Showed a lot of courtesy not plowing the driveways back in...Its not always speed, its momentum and power...well done

      Well momentum is linearly based on speed but... sure!

    I want to thank you very much for placing this wonderful video of you plowing with a v plow I used to go with my dad when i was young when he used to plow the roads with a grader and seeing this brought back alot of memories thanks.

      Jason Talbot, Me too. When I was little my Dad cleared a lot of the roads by us with an old Cat grader, and I would go along too. This area in the video looked like home.

    awesome thanks for sharing! hang some rubber skirting on the top of your plow to deflect the snow dust then you can really have fun when you can see the road haha

    Always take as much as you can on the high side,if you don't you have double the amount on one side. I did this for 35 years.

    may i suggest getting some heavy rubber/canvas material for on top of the plow to help reduce blow back when plowing at high speeds. our old 16G has that feature on the old v plow. it helps out big time with huge drifts

    Just viewed the video. I use to plow snow for a living in Michigan. I’ve seen snow so deep that it was drifted across a road and the snow was as high as the telephone poles as far down that road as as the the eye could see. The county used mammoth front end loaders with snow blowers.. It took our county 2 weeks to dig out of that one. Great video. One question. Did your grader have front wheel assist. Thanks, take care and stay safe😀

    Better than nothing I suppose. I use a John Deere 9730 with a 15" Degelman silage blade to open up the road for the milk truck. Pulled the country grader out of the ditch 3 times this year. New operator, the old guy retired. We never lost a mail box with him either. This guys taken out ours once and the neighbors twice this year.

    No wings on that thing? Most of the towns up here in northern NY run V plows with wings on both sides. All done one trip.

    @rthom86 A wing will prevent you from getting too close to the edge of the road therefore keeping you out of the ditch !

    Why not angle the plow to one side and push to one side? This way you still have to push each side once!

    • @wyattfisher6623
      @wyattfisher6623 6 лет назад +2

      BigBoss 429 The operator can’t angle it because it’s a fixed V-plow.
