this song came out back in 1983 but it was also one of the songs in the movie RAD and The Wizard from 1986 and 1989, it's one of my favourite songs from the 80's, it has such an instantly recognizable beat to it.
Oh my gosh! A friend of mine used to date David Sterry, the lead singer. Lovely guy. Memories, omg!!! Aussie legends🙌❤️ Edit: Jamel I’ll send you the link in Patreon to an alternative clip of this song where they do a Beauty and The Beast type video. It’s incredible. I think there was a US sports team…angels? They used this as their theme song.🤗
Always Loved this song! Takes me back to some great memories just hearing this! Now I just need to hear Falco sing "Rock Me Amadeus" and I'll be dancing all night!! 😊
So many memories of dancing to this in Melbourne, Australia, where these guys are from. Boy we had great times, young, free, no,responsibilities. I want a Time Machine please someone!!
Love this song, it came out in '83 and the original video was so much cooler. They did a re-do of the video in '89, not sure why, but the original was much better. It's a bit of a one hit wonder (they had a couple more charting songs, but this was the highest I think), anyway, awesome song, sorry you didn't like it much, don't know who the girl in the video was, but she wasn't singing, that was synth sounds she was miming over❤
I could swear that I've seen another music video that the band did for this same song, and that the song also sounds slightly different (different edit of it maybe?). 🤔
The one recreating Beauty and the Beast in the woods? As far as I know that was the First video that came out in '84 then they re-edited It for a movie, I think in '89. I saw only the one from '84, when I was 12. This one, I just saw It quite recently.
Aussie Aussie Aussie oi oi oi. So excited when I saw the title. Aussie iconic song from the 80s. Saw David Sterry at the Countdown Spectacular, twice. Thanks for the reaction
I remember hearing this song on the radio. It was also played by casey casum and or shadow stevens on 80s feature stations. I always loved this song but never saw the video.
Now that you've listened to Send Me an Angel, you should listen to Send Me an Angel '83, '85, '89, '04... the song is famous for having been re-released six million times by Real Life. My personal favorite version not by Real Life is the 2002 metal version by Deadstar Assembly. Their video has cheesy CG space battles and a great Roland synth.
A true one hit wonder, except they hit twice with the same song. They had other songs that were good but nothing hit like this. Most mentionable songs were Catch Me I’m Falling and Face To Face
I was an 15 year old, sneaking into dance, club kid when this came out. Danced to it many many many times. The 80’s were a magical time to come of age in every way!
Jamel I forgot how great your reactions are. I did a deep dive on your Steve Winwood, Bruce Hornsby. "Brother Bruce!" Vids tonight. Are you gonna leave thw 80s.fornthe very early 90s and visit "Brother Marc??". Marc Cohn. You'll love his lyrics. ghost train, dig down deep, silver thunderbird, paper walls, lost you in the canyon, olana, dance back from the grave... but I'm sure everyone wants you to do the crowd pleaser "walking in Memphis" first, though
Hehe. Welcome to my world…..great Aussie band …. Got them on my list of favourites to listen to. Thanks for the reaction ❤❤❤❤. You have to find more Aussie bands, from the 70s and 80s. We might be a small country, but boy we pumped out some brilliant groups. Their sound was so different from other countries too.
Kay-kaykaykaykay-Roq Roq Roq❗🥳 electronic PowerPop. One of my all time fav's🎶 Try out- Twenty Twenty, Yellow Pills . R.I.P. Rick Carrol, programing G to the O ta tha D....😇
This song was featured in the movie American movie “Rad” which followed a young couple riding BMX bikes in competition events. Was also a very big hit with the gay and lesbian citizens of Australia. 🫶🏼 pride ❤
I saw with them concert with my father and husband. They came with Berlin and omd and howard Jones. My father loved this song. I think the song was played in the movie send me an angel. Wendy Thompson
This is from 1983 and was used in the BMX movie Rad in 1986, which is where I heard it for the first time as I was more into AC/DC, Ozzy, and Def Leppard in the early 80s
This song originally came out in early 80s, 83? This re-do from '89, going from bad memory, most notably updates the drum sound (didn't they have those super-80s hex-drums)?
wOw! I thought about this song earlier today, but didn't remember the band. And here it pops up in the feed... 😊 Google says it was released in 1983 and RE-released in 1989. the 1983 version is "softer"... but more synth, and video's deffo early 80'es and kinda creepy... 😆😆 #KeepGoodMusicAlive
Nice to see you getting back to your roots…. Just make sure you pause once in a while that seems to work for other reactors…. Here’s to your continued success, and remember just be a good human.❤❤❤❤❤❤✌🏽☮️🤲🙏
Jamel, you really have to react to, Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham, When something is wrong with my baby. You've reacted to both individually, once. A must for your channel
How do I get you to listen to Royal Blood, Ayron Jones, Fefe Dobson, Circa Waves and Fire Tiger????? I mean, if you're worried about the current state of music, these guys and gals who go under the radar might give you hope! RB: I Only Lie When I Love You, Boilermaker, Figure It Out AJ: Supercharged, Mercy, Filthy FD: Take Me Away, Get U Off, Ghost* *(This was when she went more pop which is a shame... but it's good pop so...) CW: Carry you home, Never Going Under (they're a new band to me) FT: Energy, Reunion from Hell, and their cover of Coldplay's "Yellow"
I have it a like but you should have had the dance/bike off from RAD. Heck the Super Bowl even had a song from this classic movie in it with Gronk’s kick.
As an 80's baby u can't go wrong with that bop right there...... classic song I don't know who's the lady in the video bcuz it came out in 89 and I was 8 yrs old in 89 and when you're 8 yrs old u don't pay attention in who's in the video and who sings the song 🤣🤣🤣..... some songs bcuz I know who's Michael jackson 🤭🤭 But I have a question for you: did u like the song?

@@joeygoudahuh? Reaction to what?
This song was in the movie RAD
A lot of the music of the '80s was written for MTV, don't forget. That's why a lot of them didn't have much meat.
this song came out back in 1983 but it was also one of the songs in the movie RAD and The Wizard from 1986 and 1989, it's one of my favourite songs from the 80's, it has such an instantly recognizable beat to it.
The dance sequence from Rad immortalized this song.
@@I_like_turtles_67absolutely, dancing on bikes! Loved that!
As a young kid I thought it would be rad to take my bmx bike to prom, and party to songs like send me an Angel.
Rad was a great movie!! I remember Lori Loughlin being in it.
was about to type this out after he said songs like this belong in movies.. then noticed you beat me to it lol...
There is no denying that '80's synthesiser sound. I had never heard this song before now. ✌️

Falco!!! I loved him so much growing up!! (RIP)
Ooooooooooh 😊 I was a teenager (1984) and i loved this song!! And today !! Kisses from France ! 😉💙
I was either 16 or 17 and a sophomore or junior.
Jamel, you should react to Corey Hart " Sunglasses at night"....eighties again😁💙. Thanks !
This song was used in the 1986 movie “Rad”. It’s a tough movie to find, but worth a watch. I loved that movie as a kid!
I haven't looked recently, but the entire movie was here on YT in decent quality. There are websites that sell out on DVD as well.
It was rereleased a few years ago and not too hard to find anymore. You can get it digitally now on all of the streaming services.
Absolutely love Real Life! Their album Heartland is one of my favorites!!
This is the only song I know by them.
@@theplanetruth The follow up to this song is “Catch Me I’m Failing”
Me too.. Love the whole album. Saw them open for Berlin in Miami in 1984..
Great choice! I love the song “Breaking Point”.
@@4tuneagent You are so lucky!

I LOOOOOOOOVED THIS SONG BACK IN THE DAY. SORRY IM YELLING BUT I STILL LOVE THIS SONG.
I haven't heard this since the 80's and 2 days in a row I've seen reactions! Thanks for the memories!
♥ this song! 80s were maybe the best fun music decade!
I agree!
Absolutely 🙌🏻 Growing Up in the 80’s was awesome.
Quintessential 80's right there
Real Life,
One of Melbourne's favourite bands in the 80s, saw them live several times, great songs, great AUSTRALIAN BAND. !! 🇦🇺
So many memories of dancing to this in Melbourne, Australia, where these guys are from. Boy we had great times, young, free, no,responsibilities. I want a Time Machine please someone!!
I only want the time machine if I can come back. I don't want to do it all again✌️
I always loved this song.
What?? No way you did this amazing Australian song! Thanks Jamal!

I prefer the '89 version over the '83 version. They redid the song 29,105,483 times... seriously :-D so there's a version for everyone!
I haven't heard this in ages...thanks for reacting to it!
RAD fans. Get in here.
I had the movie poster on my bedroom wall
Have the soundtrack on vinyl. Absolute classic.
Everyone wanted to be cru doing that bicycle boogie with Christian holly

I’ve never seen this video before. I only remember the original video. Sounds a little different also.
A epic and iconic song of 80's, 1983 (soft pop) and 1989 (pop rock) versions 👍
"soft pop" in '83 was rather different. I'd have put "Real Life" in a New Wave category.
The first time I heard this song I was at a dance club in Karlsruhe Germany around 1984?
Yes 1984👍
Check out the movie RAD. There is an epic scene with this song in it.

The original 83 version IMO is the best. Has te claps in the chorus and the awesome sounding synth based drums.
A true one hit wonder, except they hit twice with the same song.

Great reaction and channel. I can tell you are good dude and upbeat.
“Catch me I’m falling” was another one of their hits. I bit more cheesy IMHO.
Saw this band at a club in 89, love it!
Another great Australian band to check out is The Divinyls.. "Boys In Town" or "Pleasure and Pain"..

Look at the song JOEY by CONCRETE BLONDE and read the Wikipedia story behind it. It's a true and sad story.
This is been in video games and tv show and movies at 15 movies other group did the song
Love it, Love it!!!!
Holy crap I was in my twenties then.. don't remember this tune AT ALL!!!😎✌️🍄
It took me a while, but I vaguely remember this song.
Saying it was in a tv show made me think it would be great in Stranger Things :)
The song features in the soundtracks of the American movies Rad (1986) and The Wizard (1989).
Have you seen the original video? VERY 80s, high concept, “beauty and the beast” themed funkiness. Total 80s teen girl fantasy 🤣
I loved this song as a teen! (Pre teen?) … Now I will be 50 soon!! 😱
