- In this video I check out a 2019 Chevrolet Camaro and been turned into the Trans Am Worldwide version of a Modern day Trans Am...Pontiac has been extinct for several years now but their fans have never stopped dreaming of what if?....What if General Motors had left their Pontiac Motor division live...Over the years since Pontiac's death there have been a few different attempts to answer that question by taking a late model Chevrolet Camaro, changing the body panels and usually the front and rear end to closer resembling the Pontiac Trans Am of the past...I found this Trans Am Worldwide version while at the 2021 Pigeon Forge Rod Run but just recently had the chance to shoot a feature video of it...Talk about a cool car...Not only does it's looks leave no doubt it's a Trans Am of today. It truly is a totally different car from the Camaro it started as...The body is completely different from the Camaro....It's all Carbon Fiber except the doors and the rear quarter panels...These are the only 4 Camaro panels left...It has a $20,000 T-Top option, Not something you have been able to get from Chevrolet for years....Wheels are now 21" at all four corners...Under the hood is the 6.2 GM V8 that puts out around 700 Horsepower.....The color is a custom blue Chevrolet Corvette color...The chassis and suspension....All still as the Chevrolet Camaro....All the options of a 2SS Chevrolet Camaro still work....Powertrain warranty is still intact from General Motors....My first car was a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am so I'm a lifelong fan of the Pontiac Sports Car....I think this car is very cool....But if you're one that thinks these cars are nothing more than a fancy Chevrolet Camaro...I think this one will change Your mind...Cool car for sure!!!..Check it out!!!

Learn how to day trade/swing trade stocks successfully. Learn your craft and within a few years you could have accumulated wealth beyond your imagination. I know people in their 20’s and 30’s who are multimillionaires. Most within 3-5 yrs.

@@ThurstonHowell3rd , also, if you suck at the 9 to 5 gig, then you need to learn how to invent something that is needed that has no market yet or you can make a successful app, and/or smartphone/tablet/computer game, make it well, and then the money will roll in for you.
I don’t know why GM quit making Pontiacs. They could have still produced the Trans Am’s and the GTO’s and maybe the Grand Prix’s too.

You're really gonna be disappointed when you find out the camaro and trans am were identical their whole lives aside from minor details and weird engine options that never worked out in pontiac's favor.

@@Gottisanidiot if it were from the factory, you know coming off the same production line like firebirds and camaros always have, the price would be identical. unfortunately GM decided pontiac didnt need to be a thing anymore so Trans Am Worldwide bought the Trans Am name from SCCA and started building their own.
@@Gottisanidiot If this was a production car, the purchase price tag would be significantly lower. It would no longer be a niche, with the exception of the custom ordered ones like the Yenkos or custom Baldwins of yesterday or the Hennesy of today.
An excellent example is the new c8 corvette, the base model is within reach of most people, but you start ticking off those check marks of add one that price climbs right on up there. This is the same with the camaro. I don't see GM bringing it back unfortunately they are killing off every car that could compete with the corvette and any other performance or luxury car that isn't cadillac.
It's a shame Pontiac isn't still around. They made some of the most iconic cars ever made.

Awesome car Scottie. I wish GM build something like this as a limited production enthusiast car. Many of us grew up with Trans Am being the coolest car in our local parking lots. The F-Body Trans Am was my favorite car for a while back in high school.

3rd owner of a 1997 Comp T/A Build# 194 I've had since 2007. And a 69 Firebird was always my dream car. (Had one and sold it) I've made it very clear to my wife that someday I want Trans Am Worldwide to build me a New Trans Am with Comp T/A Badges/Livery.

A 7.4L sounds incredible in a modern vehicle, we haven’t seen that much displacement since the viper. The only thing I don’t like is the wait time!

Scottie your the best! Yes,the camaro and trans am were built next to each other in Norwood,Ohio and they had the same body panels.They were identical except lights and decals.

I love these cars. I remember when I first saw them. I figured it was just a body kit. After some research I sure proved myself wrong. TAW puts so much work into them that it blew my mind. They are definaately not just a Camaro with a body kit. There is so much more to them. They are very cool. Thank you for sharing this example with us Scottie. Take care.

As a regular production 2019 Camaro 2SS owner and Smokey and the Bandit fanatic, this is the best of both worlds! It would be on my list if I hit the lotto to get one to look exactly like the black ‘77 Trans Am with the gold SE stripe package.

Scottie, This is probably the coolest version of the Trans Am I’ve seen built off the new Camaro platform. I really like this build. Definitely worth the $140,000 + to have one built if you have the cash.

I'm a fan of the fire chicken on that hood! I had a very used maroon 80 T/A 301 Turbo minus the turbo, it was rebuilt 301, 2bbl carb. Loved and waxed and washed it all the time as teenager. I had no idea these were starting at over 140k. shew we man... Nice car though. Thanks Scotty D, long time subscriber, your channel just keeps getting better!

Awesome video. I have an 1987 TransAm, and loved the Bandits '77 T/A too. This definitely looks like a real OEM TransAm if it would exist today, they did a great job!
The only thing missing in this video is some loud Revs and a little drive with it!

I own a 02 Trans Am with a LS442 stroker NA motor. I can't go anywhere without drawing a lot of attention. Would like to have another one like this video. Really nice car, they did a great job too.

I’ve been trying to talk my dad into getting one done up to look more like a 68 firebird. He used to have one when he was in his early 20’s a hunter green colour. He was looking at a truck but I said he could get a new firebird for the same price and it really got the gears turning in his head.

I used to own a brand new '89 firebird with the roll down window handle bars. It was my first car. The alternator on went out like 4 times in 10 years. Had no horse power, the back seats were uncomfortable to sit on for adults. I would always scrape the bottom over speed bumps. I always loved the '79 to '81 Trans Ams growing up until I bought my firebird.

Had a 75 TA in midnight blue with a 455HO and a 4 speed trans...awesome car.
Bought a dealer demo 79 10th Anniversary TA with TA 6.6 400 with 4 speed and 1st TA with 4 wheel disc brakes. Sold it with 14k on it for 5 grand more than I bought it new for. Now you cant touch a low mile Anniversary for less than 70k.

I didn't know Pontiac still existed, what a surprise. That car is really beautiful, the only thing I don't like is the drawing on the hood, although I can understand that it is in homage to the old one

Yep the Pontiac Trans AM was the seem engine.I think the standard in the Trans AM was a little bit better, because you was in total control.Amazing sports car 700hp wow sweet.

If they continued the Pontiac brand and had this Trans Am instead of the twice or thrice discontinued Camaro, this would have given Challenger or maybe Mustang a real competition.

It's nice that this is not a production car because you can actually say that you have a one of a kind or one of two Trans Ams built with this design. If you have time check out the Trans Am Super Duty 1200 hp pace car and The Bandit edition. It was sweet when Burt Reynolds introduced the world to the Bandit.
