- The Nest is an American creature feature horror film, based on the novel by Eli Cantor (under the pseudonym of Gregory A Douglas), from Roger Corman's Concorde Pictures and producer Julie Corman. The tagline is "Roaches have never tasted flesh... until now." Flesh-eating zombie-like mutant cockroaches terrorize a peaceful island community presented as a New England fishing village. However, the film was created on location at Bronson Caves, Bronson Canyon, Griffith Park in Los Angeles, as well as Malibu, Leo Carillo Beach, and Catalina Island.

Damn those practical effects look alright.
Saw in theater in 88 read the novel first , classic!
whatched this move on dvd as a kid, fricking loved it, good times
It's weird to think DVD has been around long enough now to make that statement.
@@NovaFeedback1979 I was just about to say they didn't have DVD's in the 80's
I just now finding out that this movie exists, just needs a up-to-date retro paint job.
Turns 35!
I remember watching this 8 years ago and found it the right amount of fun
It's one of many creature features about a select group of creepy crawlers that unleash carnage on a community of people
Director Terence H. Winkless adapts the 1980 novel by Eli Cantor from the late Roger Corman's film company
They do specialize in this kind of horror filmmaking
It's a bit odd that the image poster (nothing like that ever shows up in the movie)
We spend a lot of time with these humans and then discussing things back and forth
It's only after 68 minutes things really start going crazy, much of this gets to the point although briskly paced
The roaches are nightmare fuel for anyone that can't stand these disgusting creatures
Thankfully there's lots of body carnage they leave behind particularly with a cat hybrid and a memorable human-roach life form
But the real treat is seeing the queen roach herself merged into a gory, monstrosity at the climax
Some very good use of horrific practical effects
This movie shows how horrific science messing with Mother Nature can be
No masterpiece by any means but it does its job being very straightforward and that's enough
I’m reading the book this film’s based off of, it’s so good! I’ll watch the movie once I finish.
I did watching this movie on Comet Network.
I absolutely forgot about thisone. What a cool monster movie.
Saw this movie when I was little.. I've been looking for it for the longest but I couldn't remember the name
It is hard finding this movie. It's nit even on Netflix. Why is that? It's one of the best movies I've seen! Insect movies are the best movies when it comes to horror. lol
It's on Tubi
And they say horror movies are low art.
Damnation Alley had some dangerous roaches too
1:04 These segments were not in the full movie. I wonder why.
The best cockroach movie.
I remember my cousin and I watching this gross movie. I always remember the big lady being over taken by the roaches.
