Idk why I’ve been shown your videos (shorts) in my feed. But I’m glad they’re there. Call of duty world at war is underrated in my eyes. When you ask someone about waw they always say how good it was. But no one ever talks about it on here.l, I look forward to more long form world at war content

Dude this channel came outta nowhere, but it’s probably the best thing that could have happened with the bs call of duty game that’s out now. Great to know the classics are still being researched and talked about. Imo waw definitely has the most interesting campaign but to be honest I was more drawn into the one on black ops 1 because of how memorable the characters were. Keep up the great work brother!

Yes Vorkutas population is decreasing and has been decreasing since the colapse of the soviet Union. In 1989 it had a population of 115,000 and in 2021 the population was 56,000 its actually so bad that entire swathes of the town are fully abandoned. This is mostly because Vorkuta suffers the same problem that many industrial towns of the post soviet union suffer and that is the economy crumbled because most of the mines around the town had closed and those mines were the only thing that gave the population work.
And i'd imagine the fact that Vorkuta saw one of the worst coal mine disasters in all of Russia dint help.
"One of the largest coal mine disasters in Russia occurred at Vorkuta coal mine on 28 February 2016, when leaking methane gas ignited and killed 32 people, including 26 trapped miners who had been stranded by a similar explosion three days earlier that had killed four miners."

Thi thing is that the soviet union was a well organized system with cogs working together efficienctly under state control. But when the ussr collapsed a process called privatisation took place. This means that the formerly state owned enterprises were given to the people. In theory. In reslity it was given to the bunch of rich fucks who later became the oligarchs of russia we all know and love today. Vorkuta had still profit in it, in fact, still has a tons of good resources. The problem was unemployed. You see it was very expensive to operate and maintain the huge mines and many of these enterprises were closed which meant no employment. People left the city in droves because of no employement, poor infrastructure and the ceasing of that well working machine called the soviet union. These towns are called monotowns meaning a town revolving around one single large source of employment. Many cities and town shared the same fate as Vorkuta did and many were only saved by mere luck for example Norilsk. This, the lack of source of employment is only one of the reasons though and many others contributed but by far this is the most important and i really dont want to list all the reasons otherwise it would be a complete book. I really hope i could help and the information was useful. I like your content and i really hope you will like this comment.
If you got to this point well congratulations. And thanks for reading it all i hope you learned something new.

Oh my. They even let him live.
Reminds of those billions killed illegally crossing german border into yank occupied Berlin. Number of victims is slightly exaggerated.
So um, evil empire of the whole universe pacifies criminals, out of which there are war criminals, murderers, rapists and terrorists (in fact those were the nucleus of this riot) and we dedicate a sad story to it, depicting criminals as poor victims.
Lets imagine nazi POWs in USA begin a riot, refusing to work...

Florensky was not involved into "LABOUR", all his work in gulag was purely scientific research, just like Solzhenitsyn always worked with books and papers but speaks of heavy labour building something.
Either he (Florensky) never was in Vorkuta, as he was Solovki (SLON ;) inmate.
Working day is not likely to be 14 hours typically, because such time was never specified in any documents. It's just like saying that you have to overwork at your '8 hour a day' job (i hope) it means that you work, sometimes even for 12+ hours.
But certainly administration could have had broken the regulations following own motives making prisoners overwork. And certainly peace-time regulations did not work during WW2, when economy was 'mobilized' and prisoners, as citizens of USSR that were obliged to work, as were other citizens of USSR did not enjoy 8-hour working day, up to 1950 (?) when army was finally demobilized.

    • @MrSpamaccount
      @MrSpamaccount 10 месяцев назад

Also, i do not idealize USSR and have no illusions of how life there was and could be. Certainly it was worse than now A LOT. But people's attitude to what was happening (expect those who were losing benefits, and they were in minority compared to those who gained from the soviet state) was tending to be positive.
Idea is - until new generations (most of whom fell victims of WW2) were prepared, taught by soviet state in a positive way (we may even compare the system with nazi one, despite it was no way this destructive) time should have passed. And those people who were building USSR including penal system were people from Imperial Russia who in majority could not even read (somewhat 20% were called literate for being able to read a word or two by the end of WW1), thus peaceful development of USSR begins somewhere in mid 20s, ending up in 'witch hunt' of 1937-38 (not without reason, though, and if smth was fulfilled in modern Russia i bet a lot more people would have been executed for similar crimes, even Russia has smaller population) and compared to western europe, Germany for instance, educational level of average soviet is far beyond. It's legacy of Imperial Russia, its legacy of prussian and imperial reforms that were, unlike in Russia, made in time, its unending malice and frozen internal conflict between those who lost everything because of bolsheviks, and those who gained, and all this brings out amount of victims, rude attitude of prison administration or else comes out of it. Though where one makes it because he supports communist 'ideals', most likely majority did it for career or corrupt sake.
USSR was created by rude crudy people for sake of people wouldn't have to live like slaves as they had to in Russian Empire. It's not like in Solzhenitsyns books (who, btw, was plain child of USSR, bred and educated there in this system, and his views are always idealistic and he is certainly smarter than an average soviet citizen of that time) where he extrapolates his education and behaviour (though he's not a man of high morals, to be honest, typical philistine like everyone around nowadays) on whole population who 'suffered' from the regime putting equality between criminal, terrorist and murderer and ordinary victim of corruption and evilness, like his friend he tried to blackmail via precensored WW2 military mail, for instance. Solzhenitsyn idealizes all victims of the soviet state making in look like only the innocent suffered. But true innocents mostly suffered because so-called 'good' people blackmailed or blamed them in crimes, not because state wanted to punish everyone innocent.
I changed workplace a year ago, and if in old place, despite negative feelings it is like you are in a group of good people that would not backstab you, in the new place i have all those anti-soviet propaganda vibes, when everyone is about to do smth bad to you, hates everyone around, tires themselves with useless labour, instead of making it more effective. But idea is - its not the OWNER (or in our example soviet state) that demands you to work like crazy. It's about you are not helpful to your colleagues and your evil and coward nature (because my boss sticks to own career as crazy) forces you to work ineffectively, thus more, tire yourself, not having time to relax, being evil all the time, as tiredness accumulates. Other side of the coin - once destructive element appears - even a group of good people can degrade into something that those who give you job would not like.
