i know i am late very late to the big thief party , but man am i glad i got here. some of the most cathartic music i have heard in a long long long long time.
Man you can feel that unconditional love when Buck is encouraging her. The fact that they’re married and divorced makes it more moving. I’m not crying you’re crying
JFC that was intense. The fact that she followed the difficult start with the best of all the versions of the solo at the end that I’ve seen is pretty amazing. She definitely went full Neil Young on that one.
So much love and respect to them for being able to recover from that 'false start'. It happens to the very best of them and that is exactly what Big Thief & Adrianne Lenker are
Showed this to my kids... beautiful learning moment. It's NOT about being perfect. But, as it pertains to music such a cool moment to watch a band rally, and a genius work through the process of connecting with a song. The lyrics seem secondary until she does. And when she does, whoa... goosebumps.
heartbreaking, breathtaking how the band's unite around Adrianne..... there's something more than a band... there's real love, respect and professionality....
One of the finest Bands I've seen. See them play live if you can, I've been lucky enough to see them three times up to now & hoping to catch them again in the summer. A very Special Band indeed.
Man much love for this singer and her band recovering. Fell in love with this song when I heard the national play it. Had to hear the original version and was not disappointed.
That is brave, courageous performance, right there. When a friend brought this song to our jam, I was fixated on learning it. Still have to glance at lyric sheet, cuz the images are thick, deep, wide, piercing.
I mean, she has been doing a lot of songwriting lately, both for Big Thief and her solo project, so it can be totally be understood that this may happen
I've never seen this band play live before and yet when seeing this, I instantly feel this one is beyond a legendary performance of theirs. So much passion, chivers all over.
I'm a little concerned for her - seems like she's hurting. Be well, Adrianne - you are an extraordinary artist and too many have been lost to the intensity. Care.
I was there. It's from the heart rather than the mind. Lovely moment. But scary too if you have to bring up your own lyrics. Well done! I was totally forgotten that moment during that great outro :-)
Best song and most savage guitar solo of the last decade imo, right in the feels. Well in fact since 2013, that's when Push The Sky Away was released :-)
Thank you thank you thank you for posting this particular moment it was the best experience Upd: special thanks to the video editor for perfectly syncing my hand to the drums at 5:28
I absolutely LOVE Adrianne and her band !! I feel their music passing thru my body. Listening to Adrianne's voice is like wrapping myself in a warm blanket. :))
Agreed. It reminds me of Patti Smith losing the thread at the most high stakes moment on Hard Rain in front of the Nobel whatever. Stunning recovery by a pro.
last gig i was so afraid of forgetting the lyrics of a new song that instead I forgot the chords of a song that i played a million times... shit happens...
This is actually EXACTLY why I love this band, they are authentic.
i know i am late very late to the big thief party , but man am i glad i got here. some of the most cathartic music i have heard in a long long long long time.
exactly the same here, I’m so glad i found their music
Me tooo!
took the time she needed to reconnect to the song. It proves she plays with her insides. You go girl.
well said
Man you can feel that unconditional love when Buck is encouraging her. The fact that they’re married and divorced makes it more moving. I’m not crying you’re crying
Dig where you took dat solo .livin inbetween chords.
If you get this band, this song and this perfomance, you get it.
JFC that was intense. The fact that she followed the difficult start with the best of all the versions of the solo at the end that I’ve seen is pretty amazing. She definitely went full Neil Young on that one.

The moment she's ready and start to sing gives me chills
This band loves each other. You can hear it when they forget the lyrics. You can feel it in the rhythm and flow of the music. Big Thief. Big hearts.
The frailty and power of this band give me chills every time. Just epic
i was at the front row and honestly my soul left my body hearing this
I’m seeing this in February and I can’t wait for this same feeling!
@@marooorooo In Philly?

Goddddd, I love this so much. Reading this honestly made my day. Thank you for sharing.
heartbreaking, breathtaking how the band's unite around Adrianne..... there's something more than a band... there's real love, respect and professionality....
That part from Buck around 9:00 was something I haven't heard before. Such a killer addition.
man can play guitar, suits the bands style perfectly. wouldn’t make sense to have a virtuosic solo, the emotion and power does the job and well
#1 rule of playing live music..Always Keep Playing!
This is the best rock music moment in my history, and I'm sure for countless others. The greatest expression of humanitarianism I've ever witnessed.
I do enjoy the extended intro that ends up happening though.
Yes. Was just going to comment same. Tasty bonus groove.
Not since Neil Young's Live Rust (Cortez the Killer) have I been so totally immersed and blown away.
Funny… when i Listen to her solo, my thoughts also went to uncle Neil 😎
yes!!! have been saying this!!!
That beautiful moment we wake up and are surrounded by love and support perfect cathartic song to get lost in
One of the finest Bands I've seen. See them play live if you can, I've been lucky enough to see them three times up to now & hoping to catch them again in the summer. A very Special Band indeed.
Love how loud Max is in the mix here
Man much love for this singer and her band recovering. Fell in love with this song when I heard the national play it. Had to hear the original version and was not disappointed.
cool i didnt know the national covered it, one of my favorite songs. I'll have to find that version
If anything, this endeared me more to them. Made her human, made her real.
That is brave, courageous performance, right there. When a friend brought this song to our jam, I was fixated on learning it. Still have to glance at lyric sheet, cuz the images are thick, deep, wide, piercing.
This should always be the intro for this song!
Absolutely amazing recovery. I feel like I was her up on stage that was such a roller coaster.
I mean, she has been doing a lot of songwriting lately, both for Big Thief and her solo project, so it can be totally be understood that this may happen

Reminds me of Pixies….raw & beautiful!!❤
What a 🦆 'in heart n nerve of Steele to hold on and command her brain to chill, to remember. Also thank fuck for her drummer. A beautiful moment
Absolutely beautiful! You can't plan that. The magic of live performance embodied in this one!
My goodness. That SOLO!!!!!!!! It's seriously the best in years!
Love her and this Band forever! So raw, so live, so supportive to each other, so touching.
Best song and most savage guitar solo of the last decade imo, right in the feels. Well in fact since 2013, that's when Push The Sky Away was released :-)
!! Oh god... what was that? I've seen most renditions of 'Not', but none stands at the heights of this one!
Badass. Amazing. Beautiful band. Great vibe. This is real music. Real performance.
Thank you thank you thank you for posting this particular moment it was the best experience
Upd: special thanks to the video editor for perfectly syncing my hand to the drums at 5:28
Sometimes it just leaves you!
Great band
Great recovery
Adrians an absolute beast,What an incredible show that must have been
This whole performance is like having a high fever at 3 am
Y’know what, I’m nowhere near this level n this has given me so much confidence that it happens to someone soooo talented 💜
I absolutely LOVE Adrianne and her band !! I feel their music passing thru my body. Listening to Adrianne's voice is like wrapping myself in a warm blanket. :))
I love this band so much!
Heel fijn dat jullie deze toch gewoon mogen plaatsen!
This song is also basically a riddle so that she can rmeber any of the words is impressive.
Agreed. It reminds me of Patti Smith losing the thread at the most high stakes moment on Hard Rain in front of the Nobel whatever. Stunning recovery by a pro.
More than just music. Absolutely wonderful!
loving the resemblance of adrianne to elliott smith here
woah
When your friends got your back ❤
last gig i was so afraid of forgetting the lyrics of a new song that instead I forgot the chords of a song that i played a million times... shit happens...
Best band, a truly amazing lady with a great band.
I get goosebumps every time I watch this.
Pure suspense. Pffff I feel them. I am a performer too and showing your vulnerability is the greatest gift you can give your audiance
Awesome. Great performance. I love this sing and all the extended versions. Such a jam. Great crowd too.
Some 70s/80s Fleetwood Mac live performance energy right here amazing live performance
Awesome. I love how real this is.
Yes they are a band but I love how they are all supporting, and lifting Adrianne up to be the amazing artist she is.
Magistraal, dank 3voor12!
Jesus that was epic. One of my favourite live performances. Beautiful. Big Fucking Thief.
ugh i love them so muchhhh more for this. real
This has to be my favorite. Love the humaness. How beautiful. art.
Adrianne sounds like Neil Young when she solos. Not technical, all feeling
Keeping it that tight and coming back from that is so impressive
Mad to love the version where it goes"wrong"
Keeping it real, I like that.
It was worth the wait!!
masterpiece
Haha ur funny
Thanks for filming this!
What a talent, great new music exists and here is the proof.
Not at all offensive but I understand your concern and compassion thank you ❤❤❤ The brightest lights cast the darkest shadows

This is everything
She also forgot he words to a song when I saw them in Brooklyn. Was so cute
and that my dears...is EPIC..
Gaaf!
That was brilliant!

The drums.

chills....❤🩹
der Bass ist geil
Imagine Radiohead having babies with Neil Young and it made Big Thief.
Well. Done.
this is fuckn art!
If a milqtoast white dude breaks down every time he hears this song.. I can only emotion put into dining this song
