Thanks for the video sir!!! after watching your video i was ready to replace clock spring on my 2013 Tiguan and i called local VW dealer for parts and what it would cost for them to program it after i install the part. This doesn't happen often but got great news....vw dealer advised that parts and labor to replace the clock spring is 100% covered by the dealer. so i called another dealer to verify they told me the same ( i scheduled an appointment for 01/03, i told this will take half day) . They advised that the clock spring warranty has been extended. this was a nice surprise. please check with your dealership prior to purchasing and replacing your clock spring. they said that as long as your mileage is lower than 999,999 you are covered. that's what their warranty shows. basically all cars are covered.
This comment is why I called my local dealership first, and guess what, it's covered under warranty! Thanks so much for the tip! Saved me loads of time and energy.
The dealer I'm at right now is showing 120,000 mile warranty for the clock spring. Can someone give me a phone number of a dealership saying 999,999 mile warranty? Thanks
@@blakewhite781 hey I am located in Denver and used this dealer ... Tynan's vw. The warranty has been extended untill 2027. My Tiguan has over 130,000 and its covered.

hello I have a doubt, i change the clock spring but the 2 buttons of the menu on the right side of the steering wheel doesn't work, what do you think that could be the problem?
Hi there, have you finally solved your problem? What are the manipulations to be done on the vagcom vcds, after replacing the Clock Spring? My car is Tiguan with park assist, voice helper, rear camera. Thanks for your reply !
I changed mine and the lights were still on. The steering was hard. I tool to a m3chanic and the fixed by using this machine... but the cruise control stopped working😭

@@zim7890alexandra which dealership did you use? I'd Justin like to call them.
seems like this warranty only applies to the U.S., I'm located in Mexico and here they charge around ~600 USD for parts and labor.

Coding a clock spring is as expensive as the clock spring.
This is a great video. Thank you.
Insane isn't it? Convinced that those German engineers and dealership costs are a bunch of fucks
Thank you bro been having this problem, now I know how to fix it

Where did you buy the clock spring replacement?

Did you have to do coding for the new clock spring?
Yes that's what the guy was doing with the computer

How much did the part cost ?
I'm in Australia and to replace the clock spring is like $1000! Ridiculous! The modern car is a ticking money bomb.

Outside 🔥🔥
Is that safe to open the airbag clips with the engine running thanks
my horn is not working, is that because the of programming
Yes
I’m having this nightmare now with my vw Tiguan No seems to have this thing in-stock 😡
This is a free fix from VW if under 120000 miles
To bad a mechanic is unable to simply solder a cable back on. Making a repair cost $300 more.
You need to work on your camera work. Point the camera at the subject that you are talking about.
You problem, video was helpful 😎😎
