Wu huan is very stubborn. She was the most respected women in the Three Realms for 60,000 years. But, just because of her greed and jelousy...everything vanished in a few hundred years. At least for once incited her daughter to do bad things. Actually, how dare that silly girl say that Shanggu is heartless? If you ask me i will tell that shanggu is lenient to wu huan as she didn 't lay a hand on her daughter and let her at least live.

i think it was interesting to see the characer development for wu huan. at first, we didn't really think that she'd be such a major villain by the end of it. i thought she was going to be one of the good guys, based on how she was portrayed earlier, but going down this path for her character was better i think, mostly because we don't often see these kinds of female villains in dramas. they'd usually be similar to jingzhao or xueying where we know for sure they were trouble from the get go.
At least she is still kind I mean the leading lady is still kind that's what you called kindness at modt
Even the princess deserved to be punished severely also, because she was carrying out some of her mother's dirty schemes as well.. I'm sorry it wasn't the eldest son that died instead of the younger one, because out of all of them in the family, he was the only upright and honourable one, even the father (heavenly emperor) deserved to be punished seeing that he covered up his wife's crimes, well, he couldn't bare the guilt anymore so he committed suicide.. The entire family of them deserved to be punished severely except the younger son, it's heartbreaking that he had to die, even though he was reincarnated..

She didn't actually become mute tho? Shanggu just shut her up there didn't she? Because there was a scene in the last ep where she was talking to her then crazy mother.
For me Jingzhao got her punishment already. Her family is ruined. Her father committed suicide. Her second brother sacrificed his life. Her older brother is exiled in the human realm. Her mother became crazy and will suffer for the rest of her life. While her punishment is to witness her mother sufferings and watch her own family ruined because of her mom's greed. Jingzhao's suffering is very satisfying to watch.
