Seeing this movie alone in a theater at 10:30 pm was one of the most ethereal and mind-melting experiences I’ve ever had. It sucks that this is bombing because it’s such a bold and entertaining movie!
Had no idea who robbie williams was but i saw the trailer and i love things that seem interesting or different so i checked it out. Somehow at the very end of 2024 it became my fav movie of the year.
in robbie's world in the movie, he's a real person, hence why no one makes a point of it. but to us the audience, he's an ape, its a metaphor for how robbie william's see himself.
My bestie never heard of Robbie Williams, and I had seen the trailer for it. But it was played at a AMC Mystery movie ($5 and all you know is the rating) and it was this one and IT WAS AMAZING! Also made another fan of Williams for a friend of mine! This movie was decently paced and the music and the story was amazing and that he was a monkey was easily for me to forget! Well done and worth a watch! Rock DJ was the best!
Terrific movie! Such a shame about the poor (so far) box office performance, I can only think that many people didn't go thinking that the CGI chimpanzee would be too much of a gimmick, whereas in fact it REALLY works. Better Man went straight onto my list of 'top ten' favourite ever films.
it was a genius idea to convey the story! See that's the problem with you people nowadays, expecting PROFIT not ART, you complain how movies are made for profit like the MCU, but when you get served with a picture daring to risk profit for novelty and quality you make fun of it!
@ oh no! it lost money! what will we do now? how much money do you think the pyramids lost? how much money did kafka lose out on having not published his works? You are making a circus out of this comment section
It was independently financed. Paramount picked up distribution & marketing. It's been stated by experts that the marketing was the problem, so Paramount caused their own problem.

Genius for sure - a complete artistic success!

Perhaps some more world building in the monkey world
Genius meaning losing the studio millions?
