I have been asking God for some time about the understanding of the 1,000 years covered in these scriptures. Praise God! A friend shared this with us today and I was thanking God for answering my prayers. The breakdown and explanation of the verses with other Bible verses was so clear and understandable. I'll be listening to it again to fully grasp the points made. The best part was realizing how truly blessed we are for believing in Jesus, knowing He will always be with us, and how we share in His resurrection. Praise and honor to God Almighty for the blessings of His truth as was shared.
Bruce, you are truly the epitome of the mandate of Christ to go out and make disciples of all the nations. Those of us who are privileged to hear you speak are truly blessed by your teachings.
Thank you brother for making this so more clear. Your teachings are a true blessing to the church. May this contribute in the awakening the church from the futuristic slumber she finds herself in now. God bless you, sir.
Dr. Gore, quick question; John says that he saw the souls of those that died in christ earlier in vs 4, but then he says that they "came alive" and reigned with Jesus during the Messianic/church age(which I believe we are currently in) However, Paul says that the dead in Christ won't rise with new bodies until Christ's second coming, which is after our current "millenial reign". So when John says "they came alive", is he referring to the same bodily resurrection as Paul, or is this "coming alive" something more spiritual?
@GoreBruce thank you! My version said "came alive", so that is what threw me off. So is this teaching that the souls of passed Christians are alive and conscious in a spiritual sense and reigning with Christ in the heavenly realm until His return? I know that these chapters are oblique, as you said, but am I getting the general gist of it?
Well, it includes those who died as martyrs, but also appears to include those who survived. The 'first resurrection' seems to correlate with regeneration in the New Testament, which is often described in language suggesting being raised from the dead (Rom. 6; Eph. 2, etc.).
@GoreBruce thank you for this clarification and for taking the time to answer it so thoroughly! You are definitely God's anointed and empowered teacher. If I was anywhere near Spokane, you would be seeing me every Sunday. God's blessings to you and your family!
Hi Bruce, how do we know that Paul was talking of an immediate resurrection and not a delayed resurrection at 2 Cor 5:6-8? Could he be referring to the fact that we are not aware that time passes when we are dead, so to be absent from the body is to be with the Lord is still true even if we are resurrected on the last day?
I now see that the "final Judgement is paralleled in Rev 11 and Rev 20. Rev 11 Judgement points to the end of Armageddon and Rev 20 points to the end of Gog/Magog Judgement. That can only mean that the two battles are one in the same. So the 1000yrs in Rev 20 must end with Satan persecuting the saints before Armageddon. Satan stands before the woman before she gives birth in Rev 12 after he is cast out of heaven at the end of his battle in heaven. Notice the text where Satan has a "short time". We have the same connection in Rev 20 Rev 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. He has a "little season" before his end. He was bound and unable to make war with the saints. There are more connections in these 2 chapters. They both end with the final judgement so it only make sense that the 1000yrs must be during the build up to Armageddon/GogMagog. Same war that end at the final judgement. Hope that is clear. What do you think Bruce?
Consider instead of all Christians in this, it may just be those who died before AD70. These verses parallel Dan 12:2-3 and John 5:25-29. Basically Revelation was provided to show the vindication of those who suffered in their following of Christ and wondered if all that was prophesied would truly happen. I think also this reign is in fulfillment of the prophecies to Israel to be over the nations that opposed them -- but was extended to include gentiles too.
I take it that this is the first that thrones (plural) that is used in Revelation vs throne (singular)? Is it true to say that this marks the transition from Rev 1-19 meaning past towards 20-22 is future? In the Olivet discourse we hear Jesus saying that "all these things take place" will be accomplished and it will happen within a generation. We certainly hear John repeatably saying this will happen "soon", but is it true that John doesn't say anywhere that "all these things" will take place like he spoke in Matt 24, Luke 17? The reason I'm asking, I would like to say to my hyper preterist friends that this represents a demarcation from past to future in Rev 20. Thoughts?
The word 'thrones' is used in Revelation 4, 11, and 20. Later in this series, in fact the next lecture (#56), I deal briefly with so-called 'full preterism' and my reasons for rejecting it.
@@GoreBruce thanks. Another question I was wondering. As in the Matt 24:34, Jesus said "this generation will not pass away until all these things take place" and we can confidently say Matt 24 was completed with the destruction of Jerusalem. But we also see that Revelation is John's version of the Olivet discourse, but we claim that is is more. Is there any reference in Revelation that says "all these things take place"?
@@andinorth1507 No, but John repeats quite emphatically that he is describing things that must take place in the near future. Revelation also allows for an extended period of time before the Second Advent, especially in chapter 10 and chapter 20.
Hello Dr. Bruce, may I ask do you hold to Dr. Gentry's view of the book of Revelation as a "drama". What are your major differences in this book (if there are any) ?
Bruce thank you again, your ministry has been a blessing to me and my wife. Do you have any commentary’s or books that you would recommend, that also hold this view of the book revelation?
Thank you! In my opinion, the best commentary on Revelation available at the moment is David Chilton's 'Days of Vengeance." www.amazon.com/Days-Vengeance-Exposition-Book-Revelation/dp/0930462092/ref=sr_1_1?crid=BZASQCEC8FC2&dchild=1&keywords=david+chilton+days+of+vengeance&qid=1614115485&sprefix=david+chilton+%2Caps%2C-1&sr=8-1
Hi Bruce Do you believe we are awaiting a literal physical resurrection just like Lazarus who Jesus resurrected from the dead? Paul said the dead in Christ will be resurrected first then those of us who are alive will be caught up in the air to meet them. Also the 2nd coming of Christ is literal every eye will see him. Read Mathew 24. Jesus is literally coming back in full glory for all the world to see. Scripture is not of a private interpretation.
Christ first resurrection so if we have been born again we have participated in the first resurrection. We walk in newness of life. Buried in baptism. So, the second death has no effect but we are raised again. the devil was bound or limited because Christ was raised. Now, is this long period of time waiting for the marriage supper of the lamb and the return of Christ.
We share the 'marriage supper' in the Sacrament, which we are commanded to practice 'until Christ comes again.' Then there is the consummation of our redemption when we are visibly with Christ in his eternal blessing.,
Speaking of the 1,000 year reign in Revelation 20: verses 4,5 and 6, the word for 1,000 is 5507. chilioi which means 10 cubed or 10x10x10 and chapter 5 verse 10 states " and we shall reign upon the earth.’". John includes himself with the people of that day just as Paul did in 1st Thessalonians chapter 4: verses 15 to 17 saying "we" who are alive and remain. How do we reconcile these statements seeing as how Jesus told His disciples that some of them standing there with Him, would not taste death before seeing Him coming in His kingdom in Matthew 16, Mark 9 and Luke 9?
Mr. Gore, you mentioned on 45:26 John 5:28-29 saying that Jesus there is talking about the general resurrection, but he said "the hour is coming". This isn't something one would say if he wanted to point out an event >2000 years later.
I just came across this study. Thank you for your study. The only thing I’d like to comment is that the Bible has no verses on end of human history. The end is the end of the old covenant in 70AD in which all things written would be fulfilled. I believe the entire book of Revelation is fulfilled, not partially fulfilled.
but the return of Christ has not come yet and waiting the final judgement of all. hence, John uses 1000 years or a long period of time as no man knows the end of days.
@@larrywright5891 You can't see the final judgment with your eyes. It is not observable on earth. It is the eternal life or death. The return of Christ has come in the end of the Old Covenant. Eternal Life is available today for all who would put their trust in Jesus for the forgiveness of their sins.
Hello brother Bruce. Greetings from Germany. Allow me to ask you a question, because I am confused about where you stand in respect to Jonathan Edwards view of Revelation. I have listened to your Bible study about the Harlot Babylon where you saw it fullfilled before or at the fall of Jerusalem in about 70 a D. Since Jonathan Edwards sees it as part of the fall of the anti-Chrisitian system at our time you are apart from each other. However in this study your view seems to be the same as Jonathan Edwards view that the church will bring about a time of peace on earth. So your difference with Jonathan Edwards seems to be the timeline of when certain prophecies are fullfilled but you do agree that the prophecies will be fullfilled before Jesus comes back to earth bodily. Is that so?
Jonathan Edwards was a robust post-millennial theologian, and shared the common Puritan expectation of a gradual progress of the Gospel in history (see, e.g., The Puritan Hope, by Iain Murray). On that point, I am in full agreement with him. Edwards did share a common view connected with the Protestant Reformation that the Pope (institutionally) was the anti-Christ. That appears to have colored his view of Revelation 20, and in fact his view of the entire book of Revelation. On that point, we have quite different perspectives. Thanks for your interest and your kind feedback!
@@GoreBruce I am very happy that you share the hope I have as well that by faith the world will be overcome and the Lord will fullfill all these blessed promises like that the knowledge of the Lord will fill the earth like the water covers the sea.
Chapter 13 - Satan deceiving the nations means influencing these nations into the killing of Christians. In chapter 20, Satan is prohibited from this influence over the nations to kill Christians until the thousand years are over. 20:7-10, he goes about deceiving nations again, but before he can advance, Christ intervenes and brings all things to an abrupt end (2 Thessalonians 1:7-10).
Satan Won't be freed to bring up gog and magog til the last day After the Ressurection being during the last day history it evil last ultimate being destroyed by The glory of God being done in Righteousness, and in victory by casting Satan and then them one by one were cast into the lake of fire.
I’m still not totally convinced that the main millennial positions are getting this text .. I’m thinking that it is possible that there was a physical resurrection for the martyred saints in the 1st century while the rest of the dead believers wait till the end of the thousand years for their physical resurrection and both groups comprise the 1st resurrection ... to die as a martyr is the better resurrection as spoke about in Hebrews.
Research Tartaria. There is a lot of evidence for this. The theory is we are now living in the time after the millennial kingdom when Satan has been loosed for a little while and he is now deceiving the nations. As part of that deception, time has been added and history changed. We are closer to 1221 than 2021. Interesting theory. Been looking into it and it makes sense.
A great Scripture that sheds Light on this topic is Hebrews 12:22-24: But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel. Hebrews 12:22-24 Notice the Firstborn from the First Resurrection and the spirits of the righteous made perfect are mentioned separately. Jesus spent 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth: 40 for just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the sea monster, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Matthew 12:40 The heart of the earth is the Bosom of Abraham aka Paradise. Jesus told the thief on the cross, “Today you will be with Me in Paradise”, not Heaven. We have a picture of the Bosom in Luke 16 with the rich man and Lazarus. These Old Testament saints, like those mentioned in Hebrews 11, were preached to. No one goes to Heaven except those that enter through Jesus. Jesus said: Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. John 14:6 So we have the Firstborn already in Heaven with their Heavenly bodies. We also have the spirits of the righteous made perfect, these are those that die between the Two Resurrections, “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” So we die today, we will be a spirit in Heaven until the Second Resurrection, “the dead in Christ shall rise first”. We are a spirit, until the Second Resurrection, then at that time we also get our Heavenly bodies, just like the Old Testament saints. A beautiful Old Testament reference for the First Resurrection is Ezekiel 37: The hand of the Lord was upon me, and He brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of the valley; and it was full of bones. He caused me to pass among them round about, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley; and lo, they were very dry. He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord God, You know.” Again He said to me, “ Prophesy over these bones and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.’ Thus says the Lord God to these bones, ‘Behold, I will cause breath to enter you that you may come to life. I will put sinews on you, make flesh grow back on you, cover you with skin and put breath in you that you may come alive; and you will know that I am the Lord.’” So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold, a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to its bone. And I looked, and behold, sinews were on them, and flesh grew and skin covered them; but there was no breath in them. Then He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they come to life.”’” So I prophesied as He commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they came to life and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army. Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel; behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope has perished. We are completely cut off.’ Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I will open your graves and cause you to come up out of your graves, My people; and I will bring you into the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves and caused you to come up out of your graves, My people. I will put My Spirit within you and you will come to life, and I will place you on your own land. Then you will know that I, the Lord, have spoken and done it,” declares the Lord .’” The word of the Lord came again to me saying, “And you, son of man, take for yourself one stick and write on it, ‘For Judah and for the sons of Israel, his companions’; then take another stick and write on it, ‘For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim and all the house of Israel, his companions.’ Then join them for yourself one to another into one stick, that they may become one in your hand. When the sons of your people speak to you saying, ‘Will you not declare to us what you mean by these?’ say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, his companions; and I will put them with it, with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they will be one in My hand.”’ The sticks on which you write will be in your hand before their eyes. Say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I will take the sons of Israel from among the nations where they have gone, and I will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king will be king for all of them; and they will no longer be two nations and no longer be divided into two kingdoms. They will no longer defile themselves with their idols, or with their detestable things, or with any of their transgressions; but I will deliver them from all their dwelling places in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them. And they will be My people, and I will be their God. “My servant David will be king over them, and they will all have one shepherd; and they will walk in My ordinances and keep My statutes and observe them. They will live on the land that I gave to Jacob My servant, in which your fathers lived; and they will live on it, they, and their sons and their sons’ sons, forever; and David My servant will be their prince forever. I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will place them and multiply them, and will set My sanctuary in their midst forever. My dwelling place also will be with them; and I will be their God, and they will be My people. And the nations will know that I am the Lord who sanctifies Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forever.”’” Ezekiel 37:1-28 If you find time I invite you all to visit my chnnel. Just search Keith Elrod on RUclips. Happy studying!!! Hallelujah!!!
Also, verse 4, the one thousand year reign, is that of the beheaded souls. It's those souls that reign during this time, in conjunction with Satan, who is bound. Satan, the text states, is bound for one reason - so he can not deceive the nations anymore during this time frame. Before, Satan was allowed to empower the nations, i.e., Jerusalem, the Roman Empire, and this empowerment resulted in the execution of Christians. During the thousand year period, Satan can not influence the nations for this purpose until those years have ended.
Also, you say, "As the domains of Satan shrink, the kingdom of Jesus expands..." which is a marvelous way of explaining what Peter called "Remission of Sin"... :O
Hi Bruce when did the first resurrection occur? Are these the ones (144,000) ruling with Christ for 1000 years? I know from Pauls words in 2 Timothy2;18 says: "These men have deviated from the truth, saying that the resurrection has already occurred, and they are subverting the faith of some." 2 timothy was written about 65CE so no resurrection up to that time Rev says: "those who had not worshipped the wild beast or its image and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand And they came to life and ruled as kings with the Christ for 1,000 years. 5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the 1,000 years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. 6 Happy and holy is anyone having part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no authority, but they will be priests of God and of the Christ, and they will rule as kings with him for the 1,000 years." So when did these ones come to life?
Don't forget, in Revelation 20, it's souls who are resurrected and not bodies. It's the martyrs from ch. 6 seeking vindication. The reign of a thousand years is that of these martyrs. They reign with Christ, who is already reigning, and after the thousand year reign of these martyrs ends, Christ continues to reign.
Not sure what is meant by the word spoken by angels, but that would hardly be Torah sir! Torah, where everywhere in every other verse, it is said "and God spoke" such and so...!
@@GoreBruceI have a few questions 1 Didn't he say he'd rather be away from the body /this body and present with the Lord? Does that have to mean heaven immediately upon death? 2. The old testament speaks about dead people having no conscience (Psalm 6:5, Ecclesiastes 9:10). Where in history would you say that changed? Side note: In Matthew 27, we see a resurrection take place, would you say those people went back to sleep, or Jesus ascended with them(inferring from Ephesians 4) 3. Would you also say that people who don't believe in Christ die and stay dead till Jesus' final coming?
I'd like to share something I saw while communing with Father... I encourage you to look at the Greek for that passage you quoted in 2 Corinthians 5:17... It can completely be rendered, "Since Everyone is in Christ, the New Creation is here." This flows with what Paul already expressed in other places, "Christ is all and IN ALL." Luke quotes Paul to have told NONBELIEVERS that they themselves are also God's Offspring and of Mankind Paul says, "In Him we live and move and have our being..." And He confirms this in Colossians 1:16-18 and John confirms it in John 1:3. Earlier in 2 Corinthians 5, Paul explains that he is convinced that "Christ died for all, therefore all died..." and then he explains that BECAUSE of this, we no longer regard anyone from a worldly point of view because ALL are in Christ now. So, rendering it "Since everyone is in Christ, the New Creation is here" is the best way to translate that from the Greek (see Greek). But none translate it as such in English because translations are really interpretations (required to render it "readable" in English, an inferior Language to ancient Greek). I believe that Jesus transformed our species (New Creation): Godkind and Mankind married in a single Temple! We were predestined to conform to Christ, who is the Firstborn over all creation, the First of us: Born of the Flesh and of the Spirit in a single birth, just like Christ, except with human dads in the gene pool. James says that they were a "sort of firs fruits" because that generation was actually born a second time... first born under the conditions of the first covenant (Stillborn, born dead)... those wineskins were filled with new wine and we saw that they did indeed "burst" as Jesus explained. But now, there are no more Old Wineskins and none are born under the first covenant at all because it was Obsolete 2,000+ years ago. So what remains is that we enter the Kingdom of God. Jesus knew that no person could enter the Kingdom (which is what He preached to the public that they should do), unless they are first born again! So God took the Jews and the Gentiles and made them into "One New Man" (Eph 2:14-15) born once for all at Pentecost. But, we must enter the Kingdom of God, which is our inheritance. Sadly, many enter by default by leaving the Finite Context to enter into the Eternal Context. This is why Jesus explained that many enter the Kingdom of God through the way of destruction instead of the Narrow Gate. Anyhow, just wanted to say that 2 Corinthians 5:17 can totally be rendered in favor of Father's Heart, which is the Ultimate Context of Scripture. When we understand father's Heart, we have understood the Scripture... and Father's heart is so amazing because it is so SIMPLE! :O Amen. thanks for sharing.
Why Matthew 27:52-53, Daniel 12:2, John 5:25 are never associated with this passage, I do not understand. What is wrong about the first resurrection being as real (and fulfilled) as the words spoken by Jesus and written by Matthew and John. I would guess that it doesn't fit into the imortal soul/spirit doutrine and that would some how conflict with the repeated, teachings of Jesus, in John 6:39:40, 44 and 54, telling those who where listening that he would resurrect them on the last day, as He refere's to in John 5:28-29. I find it difficult to understand the punishment of death, if Adam or Abel went consciously to heaven in any state of being after death . As i find it difficult to understand the second death as eternal LIFE in hell, for it inevitably renders the word death as a mere door, that takes anyone from one state of existence to another and that's not biblically accurate. Though I do understand why people would want to go to a heaven, and why preachers like to say that some ones loved one is in heaven with God after death, but that is not what the bible teaches. Adam is explicitly informed that he would return to the soil, for he was dust Gn 3:19. Lazarus didn't have a 4 day vacation in heaven and then come back to earth for a few years and then back to heaven again, or did he? Oh well, time will tell. Living in the kingdom of God, hopefully preparing for his coming, obediently seeking to follow Him. Thank you for you insight and God Bless.
@@larrymcclain8874 As I see it, it's not, "are resurrected", it's were ressurected in Mt 27:52-53, including and allusive to John the Baptist. But that's beside the point, I don't see soul's with no head, instead I see Matthew 10:28 writing to the contemporary culture saying all of a person's being is terminated in the lake of fire. Why lake of fire you might say? Because of the word used and translated into hell, is "gehenna", aluding to the valley of hinnom, where the bodies of thousands where constantly burnt in the that century. I am not the holder of the truth, still studying the Bible and praying for revelation from the Holy Spirit. God bless.
I agree, Scriptures like Matthew 27:52-54, tell of the First Resurrection: The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they entered the holy city and appeared to many. Now the centurion, and those who were with him keeping guard over Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were happening, became very frightened and said, “Truly this was the Son of God!” Matthew 27:52-54 A very important Scripture that shows everyone in Heaven right now is Hebrews 12:22-24: But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel. Hebrews 12:22-24 Notice the Firstborn from the First Resurrection are listed separately from the spirits of the righteous made perfect. Jesus went to Paradise aka the Bosom of Abraham and preached to the Old Testament saints. These are those in Matthew 27:52-54. The spirits are those that die between the Two Resurrections. They get their Heavenly bodies at the Second Resurrection. If you find time come by my chnnel, just search Keith Elrod on RUclips. Happy studying!!! Hallelujah!!!

I read David Chilton's Days of Vengeance which is a valuable resource. I think Mr Gore needs to publish a magnum opus with his Revelation studies.
I appreciate that, but really anything I say on this amazing book has already been said by others. I don't have any original contributions here.
@@GoreBruce Perhaps...but you put it all together so clearly and eloquently.
Dr. Gore, quick question;
John says that he saw the souls of those that died in christ earlier in vs 4, but then he says that they "came alive" and reigned with Jesus during the Messianic/church age(which I believe we are currently in)
However, Paul says that the dead in Christ won't rise with new bodies until Christ's second coming, which is after our current "millenial reign".
So when John says "they came alive", is he referring to the same bodily resurrection as Paul, or is this "coming alive" something more spiritual?
The word used in Rev. 20:4 is 'they lived' (zao), not they 'came alive,' as in being raised from the dead, which is a different word (egeiro).
This guy knows his job
Makes Sense!
We have the same connection in Rev 20
Rev 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
*Hey brother could u please make a video on Fraxinetum, the Medieval Muslim Emirate of Switzerland‼️‼️*

Hi Bruce
Do you believe we are awaiting a literal physical resurrection just like Lazarus who Jesus resurrected from the dead? Paul said the dead in Christ will be resurrected first then those of us who are alive will be caught up in the air to meet them. Also the 2nd coming of Christ is literal every eye will see him. Read Mathew 24. Jesus is literally coming back in full glory for all the world to see. Scripture is not of a private interpretation.
Yes.
How does Post-Mill deal with Zech 14? When does this occur?
Zechariah 14 is a poetic description of the beginning of the New Covenant era.
Yes, some (but not all) of Jesus' disciples did see Jesus come to fully establish his kingdom in 70 a.d.
I believe the entire book of Revelation is fulfilled, not partially fulfilled.
yes, i think you just might be right on this point.
but the return of Christ has not come yet and waiting the final judgement of all. hence, John uses 1000 years or a long period of time as no man knows the end of days.

26:32, yes. Because thats exactly what the bible describes.
Preterist - smeterist -- Jesus has still not come back yet -- unless you are a Jehovah's Witness. Then He lives and reigns in Brooklyn, NY.
Satan Won't be freed to bring up gog and magog til the last day After the Ressurection being during the last day history it evil last ultimate being destroyed by The glory of God being done in Righteousness, and in victory by casting Satan and then them one by one were cast into the lake of fire.
Partial preterist is my idea
I’m still not totally convinced that the main millennial positions are getting this text .. I’m thinking that it is possible that there was a physical resurrection for the martyred saints in the 1st century while the rest of the dead believers wait till the end of the thousand years for their physical resurrection and both groups comprise the 1st resurrection ... to die as a martyr is the better resurrection as spoke about in Hebrews.
Hmmmmm. Beheaded souls, resurrected. Not bodies. I think it's pretty obvious. And BTW, bodies come later in 20:11-15.
A great Scripture that sheds Light on this topic is Hebrews 12:22-24:
But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel.
Hebrews 12:22-24
Notice the Firstborn from the First Resurrection and the spirits of the righteous made perfect are mentioned separately. Jesus spent 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth:
40 for just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the sea monster, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.
Matthew 12:40
The heart of the earth is the Bosom of Abraham aka Paradise. Jesus said:
Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
John 14:6
So we have the Firstborn already in Heaven with their Heavenly bodies. A beautiful Old Testament reference for the First Resurrection is Ezekiel 37:
The hand of the Lord was upon me, and He brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of the valley; and it was full of bones. And the nations will know that I am the Lord who sanctifies Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forever.”’”

I know from Pauls words in 2 Timothy2;18 says: "These men have deviated from the truth, saying that the resurrection has already occurred, and they are subverting the faith of some." 2 timothy was written about 65CE so no resurrection up to that time
Rev says: "those who had not worshipped the wild beast or its image and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand
And they came to life and ruled as kings with the Christ for 1,000 years.
I share the view of Augustin and other classic theologians that the first resurrection refers to regeneration (cf. Rom. 6; Eph. 2; etc.)
It doesn't say to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord anywhere in scripture. Sorry couldn't watch any more after that was said
2 Cor. 5:6-8.
@@GoreBruceI have a few questions
1 Didn't he say he'd rather be away from the body /this body and present with the Lord?
Does that have to mean heaven immediately upon death?
2. The old testament speaks about dead people having no conscience (Psalm 6:5, Ecclesiastes 9:10). Where in history would you say that changed?
Side note: In Matthew 27, we see a resurrection take place, would you say those people went back to sleep, or Jesus ascended with them(inferring from Ephesians 4)

Amen. thanks for sharing.
Beheaded souls are resurrected. What is a beheaded soul? Not the same as a bodily resurrection (Matthew 10:28).
I agree, Scriptures like Matthew 27:52-54, tell of the First Resurrection:
The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised; and coming out of the tombs after His resurrection they entered the holy city and appeared to many. Now the centurion, and those who were with him keeping guard over Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were happening, became very frightened and said, “Truly this was the Son of God!”
